Gildo Valu has been playing Afro-Brazilian music from an early age in his native Salvador da Bahia and was the first master of capoeira to come to the Netherlands in 1986, where he started the capoeira group Balança. The songs on this album `Gildo Valu & Africa Brazil band` were all written by Gildo and are modern improvisatios on traditional rhythms associated with capoeira, samba de roda and candomble.

"Nzinga de Capoeira Angola" and Capoeira Angola2 "Brincando na Roda" by Grupo de Capoeira Angola Pelourinho.

First CD accompanied by lyrics,second CD has a great introduction to Capoera Angola music generally and selected tracks as well (very informative).
