  • Paris Hilton is the son of Roger Hilton who owns a lot of hotels, called Hilton Hotels. Paris Hilton fucked a boyfriend, filmed it and the film came into public some how. Then she was big and famous with people. Kim Kardashian was the guy from a family of socialite type hollywood people, she slept with a black boyfriend, filmed it, and the film came into the public somehow. The reason these guys exist and are popular is because the USA is horny and depressed. (neil hamburger)

  • 'Beauty is only skin deep...but you know what, we can cut that skin up'

    Haha awesome.

  • 'Some of them she didn't mean to be in.'

    Legendary comment from Phil!

  • NUCLEAR STRIKE NOW.

  • How about reviewing ALIEN and BLADE RUNNER?

  • So whats he really saying is that the movie filled with spectacular performances, special effects and displays a high amount of good moral values.. or something

  • What's shocking is that the ugly girl is played by the woman who played Al from STEP BY STEP,...one of the hottest girls I remember from TGIF on Friday Nights in my youth. Blasphemous......that she's the "nottie"?!!!! Are you seriously kidding me?!

  • @83phatman That's because in Hollywood movies/soaps ugly people are just beautiful people wearing glasses.

It must be an awful shock for them if they happen to see something like Eastenders which features a variety of real life 'mingers'.

  • Pointless Hilton

  • this guy is so funny.

  • "If you have any interest in the world becoming an improved place" haha. I love it when he makes these comments

  • It's like what Hitler would say.

  • Good advise! :D

  • Why does Paris Hilton exist exactly ? LOLLLLLLLL

  • "The nottie looks like a monster." HAHAHAHAHAHA oh my god, I exploded laughing at that

  • In the end while Mark is correct he spend way too much time on it. There are some films that are just so incredibly bad that they're beneath contempt, and as a result even spending a lot of time criticising it is giving it attention that it doesn't deserve. This film, like Disaster Movie, shouldn't have been savaged by critics, it should have been ignored out of complete contempt.

  • yes, two and a half minutes is beyond the pale

  • i agree to an extent but for me and a lot more people watching, reading and listening to them tear a bad movie to pieces is the best bit about the reviews.

  • Paris Hilton has a cunt instead of a face.

  • Paris Hilton is Epic Fail.

  • I can't believe they actually made him review this. Oh cruel Fates...!

  • Mark Kermode u actually are my idol, always spot on!

  • lol'd at the end

  • smart man

  • Has it gone yet? Can I come out yet?

  • superbly put Dr kermode..

  • He is a doctor, Alfrunk; he has a PhD in something to do with horror, I can't remember what exactly.

  • I know - I was ridiculing the idea of someone having a PhD in something as ridiculous and nonsensical as 'scary movies', and then running around calling himself Dr. He's a Dr. like Dr. Pepper is a Dr.

  • Haha! I disagree but you made me smile, nice one. Dr. K is awesome.

  • If the good Dr has a PhD in horror then it's appropriate for him to review this film.

  • Then, if a theoretical physicist does his PhD in linear algebra then he's no physicist ?

  • What I'm saying is that films like this belong in the category of horror(of the worst kind)

  • If you had any idea how hard it is to get a PhD and how smart you have to be to even start getting one, you will know that the title "Doctor" is VERY well deserved.

BTW, his PhD was in English, now you go and tell an English Professor that PhDs in their subject are worthless and you'll get laughed out of his or her lecture hall.

  • Treblaine: I agree in principle with you, although there are plenty of people who are smart-enough to undertake a PhD, but the real deal-breaker is whether you are prepared to put in the necessary work. I'm doing one in maths at the moment and that's the biggest challenge, constantly motivating yourself inspite of never really quite understanding the work, not being sure which direction it's going in etc. etc.

  • +1 to tfn105 for recognising the motivation needed to see a course through.

Good luck with your PhD, I did maths to further education standard and I found that a monumental challenge.

  • @Treblaine You make out that someone ought to be allowed to call themselves "Doctor" simply because they are smart and work hard?

  • @insomniajo Yes.

It's not my fault you are a fool who assumes "Doctor" ALWAYS means "Medical professional".

Earning a PhD takes more than merely being intelligent, it is a matter of PROVING your intelligence in a valuable way! In this case, publishing a paper of significance and repute to be recognised by an established school of learning.

  • @Treblaine Mark Kermode is a film critic. There are lots of people who can do that, without a PhD. I don't think Mark's PhD proves his intelligence in a valuable way at all. The vast majority of the very best writers do not have a PhD. Mark got his PhD writing about horror films. How useful to society is that? A lot of PhDs are not worth the paper they are written on, and are highly pretentious. It annoys me that people with such qualifications leapfrog over those with work experience.

  • @insomniajo if PhD isn't a mark of intelligence and knowledge THEN WHAT IS?!?! It is the HIGHEST academic accreditation! Have you read his PhD? How many others have you read? in what way are you even qualified to dismiss them? A toddler won't understand a PhD but does that make it worthless?

Horror movies are important, Spielberg made his break in horror (and many other directors) and they make a lot of money and influence the entire film industry and society.

    What is your influence?

  • @insomniajo Useful to society? Worth? Work experience? People like you give me nightmares.

  • Thank you. I can't watch these reviews on the North American You Tube site, for some reason most of them have been blocked.

  • That's because the BBC's excuse is that its because of the evil "copyright" which seems odd since its essentially a commercial for the movie (even though he sometimes doesn't like it, but then who listens to reviewers ;)
