Not sure I understand why they were towed in ? The were on a fairly large boat which was anchored not far from shore. They were only getting banged around a little bit from a storm ? Was the boat taking on water or something ?
This is Richardson Bay San Francisco. We have many "live aboards" ie homless with boats which are not exactly sea worthy who anchor in Richardson Bay. Every winter they get blown out, sunk or washed up on local shores where the locals are left with the clean up bill. Richardson Bay can be pretty wicked.
Hold on... at #t=1m15 the crewmember is pulling back the first missed throw, but I hear her saying "back down..back down..back down" as they're pulling in the heaving line... What !!
It's been awhile since I've been in, but I do remember as a cox'n to keep FWD speed when a line is aft near the props. Decent tow job though... now try it in 8-10ftrs LMAO!
i noticed that too.. where was the 2nd heaving line. I couldn't tell if the female was a coxn or was on the bridge relaying information to the cox'n. I did notice, as the VID was taken into side tow, the VID's tender was dangerously close to the 47's props. Had the cox'n come stbrd qtr, it could have been chewwed up.. Good rescue otherwise!
conditions werent too bad . . i go out in shit like that just to drink a few beers . . . . just windy thats all . . . i hope his motors were down or this rescue would be a waste .
Nothing like heaving around 600' of 3.25" wet DBN with gale force winds burning your skin & salt spray stinging your eyes. I am STATION GOLDEN GATE! 5 years 4 months.
And yet your screen name is "CoastGuardSwimmer". So obviously you were either proud to be in it OR you wanted to be in it and couldn't get in so you thought you'd talk big.
damn, 'amazing display of some fine seamanship right there

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I agree boo, nothing but confusion, too many people giving orders. They're lucky they didn't blow that completely. Poor training.

yup. on top of that. where the hell was the secondary heaving line?
booAHHHH 3 years ago
The PA cut the video. There were more than two attempts. Tight quarters with buoys, anchored boats, and 5 ft of water.
maxum- your comment is ignorant.

One who attacks another using references to homosexuality is often very insecure with their own sexuality.
P.S. I hope the Boyscouts took you back.
