  • see in slow curssors motion to the cameraman films

  • I just wanna move there so when people ask me "Where are you from?", I can say "OOOOOOklahoma!!!"

Man that would be SUCH an awesome state song! Why does'nt MY state have a Rodgeres&Hammerstein composed theme? My state song is to the tune of "Oh Tannenbaum"...

  • Heck, if Oklahoma is a land where people can be overjoyed enough to sing ecstatically about hawks and wheat, who wouldn't want to live there?

  • I want to be an Oklahoman.

  • NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSKKKKKAAAAAAAA

  • the bride has SUCH a pretty voice!!!

  • The bride is so pretty I'm jealous =(

  • OOOOOOOOOOO K LAHOMA!

  • This was played at my Pop's funeral!! He loved the movie Oklahoma!! R.I.P Pop!! Love you so so much!!

  • That was great, how often do we see fun and interesting intercessions like this anymore, that's not okay.

  • Im Proud to be an Oklahoman! <3

  • It would be hilarious if that was the actual way to pronounce Oklahoma.

Leon: Hi Steve, I'm from New Jersey, where are you from?

    Steve: I'm from OOOOOOOOOk-lahoma.

Leon: Do you have a stutter?

    Steve: No, why?

    Leon: Oh, never-mind.

  • now this is 1 of the greatest movies ever made

  • From a triumphant America-long before the illusions of the Tea Party Movement when the US was still on the Gold Standard.

Didn't President Eisenhower warn of the dangers of neo-conservative political lobbies in one of his last speeches?

The US could be great again if it was defending the whole world. A defense budget of $800 billion a year in 2011-12!

Lots of infrastructure and healthcare for Oklahoma at that price!

  • @anton83320 For what it's worth, Gordie was a Republican who didn't believe actors and singer should make political pronouncements. He always pointed to the example of Paul Robeson who got in trouble for his political beliefs. Elvis also never voiced any opinions.

  • AWSOME!!!!!

  • 6 dislikes! C'mon its a great musical! I loved this song ever since! Gordon MacRae is such a good singer.

  • Oklahoma's awesome and for any Texans reading this remember the quote "only steers and queers come from Texas" thank u full metal jacket for teaching me that lesson.

  • @KyronTheCLIFFF What a dumb and bigoted saying.

  • I'm here because my AP Lit teacher wants us to learn this for our Final. :D

  • O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A! this song single handedly taught me how to spell the state.

  • FAB...

  • I'm a proud Texas Longhorn, but my grandfather was from Hobart and Bartlesville. Love this song!

  • I remember first watching this with my grandma, loved this ever since:') Such a wonderful timeless classic!!

  • one of my favorite songs

  • The outdoor scenes were filmed in Arizona.

  • One of the best things about Oklahoma, in my opinion!

  • Even people from Texas have to like this.

  • @JUNIORWHOPPER

    Ha...yes f texas

  • I'm auditioning for Oklahoma soon >< But I still don't know if I want the lead, acting, or music part!

  • Really miss my home state and can't wait to go home.

  • Going to Oklahoma this Wednesday!

  • 3:14 YouTube video: title song from 1955 Rodgers & Hammerstein's musical film Oklahoma! Gordon MacRae as Curley leads from 0:45

March 12, 1921: birth of Gordon MacRae, American singer and actor (d. 1986)

  • haaaaaawaii it's tough to drive there from here. XD

  • I actually hated this play sooo much when I first got involved, but it's growing on me, trying to sing this song so loud. It may be a little cheesy, but hey, its the turn of the century viewed through the 40s. It still stands up fairly well :D

  • @RaneDuPre i am doing this for the musical at my school

  • @RaneDuPre Until you think about what happens in Oklahoma in about 25 years. Basically, Curly is the old man the Judds bury on the side of the road on their way to California.

  • I'm sining this in music class.

  • @Leon612 he didn't say potaters he said 'Pertaters!'

  • @bolt473, As an Oklahoman I do say I like your current governor christie. but I'd rather live in the wide open spaces of suburban NW OKC than the relatively crowded Newark, and yes I've been there.

  • Absolutely delightful and charming. I once saw a stage production of this and ended in a climaxing crescendo will live white horses and singers cracking lives whips on stage! The backdrops were live sunset video - Brilliant

  • Thumbs up to Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones!!

  • 4 people would rather live in new jersey...

  • YEOOOOOW!

  • Such a good movie & musical. As Texans, we share an intense rivalry with 'Oklahoma' but there are many good people who came from the original 'Indian Territory' or 'Indian Nation' . Keep enjoying the music. Thanks for posting & thanks YouTube (Google).

  • i'm singing this for an audition soon

we always tact on the chorus after "fifty-nifty"

  • im singing this in my choris im in 5th grade

  • I got to see this performed at the local university.

  • man if i ever meet a man who can sing like that.. i'll marry him lol.

  • What a song! You can't help but sing-a-long! Although after recently reading a book about the horrible dust storms in the dustbowl around the panhandle of Oklahoma state in the 1930's I'm looking at this musical in a whole different light...

  • this film was not made in oklahoma. scotia122

  • O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A Uncle FUCKAAAAAAAA!

    Suck my balls

  • @jymkata that song sounds familiar..... do you know what background song they use to make that song?

  • If you go on Oklahoma's (The state) website, it has the lyrics to the song, and potatoes is literally spelled pertayters. Same with tomatoes.

  • Hmmm when people here this song they think of only OU???

  • :51 hahahahahahaha

  • 3 people missed the like button.

  • he said potaters...LMFAO

  • @Leon612

  • So good! went to see this in glasgow a few months ago it was amazin! :) x

  • This song kinda makes me wanna go to Oklahoma. I wish Florida had an awesome musical.

  • @mrstinajonasx2 WIN. I LIVE IN FLORIDA AND I'M JEALOUS OF OKLAHOMA TOO.

  • You don't often think these people, if they'd been real, would have been in Oklahoma when the Dust Bowl wrecked all the farms. They'd have loaded up the jalopy and headed to California like the Joads. Kinda puts a new spin on the end huh?

  • Everyone else says its hell to live here. But its just wonderful. The land is beautiful. The people are very nice. And its just like a family.

  • Oklahoma who !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oklahoma

  • i love oklahoma!!! i was born there and proud to be an okie. :)

  • @ all the oklahoma haters.. Oklahoma is one of the few states that isn't falling apart due to economic crisis. It may not be the greatest state, but there are far worse states. Michigan for example, fucking sucks, Ohio is worse then Michigan.. And you wanna know something else, there are more hicks in Montana then ANY southern state. I'd still rather live in Oklahoma then anywhere else.

  • @morri908 I'm very happy to be living in the Great Lakes State of Michigan. In fact, there is no other state where I would choose to raise my family among the beautiful lakes, streams, 19 million acres of forests and natural beauty. Yes, we have cities with very strong challenges. But rather than complain, I do my part to improve my state and make it an even better place to live. It would be nice in America if we supported each other, rather than saying our fellow states "f--- suck."

  • @justtim I live in michigan dude. I'm just sayin, this place sucks. I'm sure that you are aware of the seasons Michigan has, Winter and Construction. And out of power for THREE DAYS over a small tornado.. That was ridiculous. And there is always competition between states.. It's not necessarily the state's fault that it sucks, but our leaders need to get their heads on straight.

  • @morri908 Michigan is run by Democrats and unions that have managed to drive 75% of the manufacturing jobs out of the state. It's a state where they're pulling up paved roads and replacing them with gravel because it's cheaper to maintain. I weep when I think about what has happened to Detroit, which has lost half its population. And Flint, where the UAW has a bronze monument to loafing, is being bulldozed. Despite the "natural beauty" in its rural areas, Michigan is a total disaster.

  • @DFDalton1962 Don't tell me that, I know.LOL.I have tons of friends and neighbors that are screwed because of unions.Explain all this to justtim .. He's the one that loves it here and thinks its amazing and all.As I said earlier, were i live was hit by a tornado a week ago and we were without power for three days.It didn't even do ish for damage. But it took 3 days for DTE to get off their asses (prolly union) to get my power back on. justtim is the one over there saying how its beautifulandsuch

  • watch the hawk making lazy circles in the sky :) Ahhhh

  • Eddie Cochran is from Oklahoma - right? Then the place must be good.

  • This is a great song and video!! Mark my words if the damn mexicans or anybody else think they have a chance of taking from us our land or think we will back down they have another thing comin'!

The time is coming and the idiots in washington and the idiots who hate okies better start backing off! OKLAHOMA is our land!

  • ugh oklahoma sux lyk they say everythings bigger in texas!!!!

  • I love this song!!!! Mainly because I'm from Oklahoma...And the Musical

  • @kayleighshay me too dude!! im from choctaw oklahoma!!!!

  • Wow. If you go out of your way to search up a music video and say how much you hate it, you have no life. 1IhateOklahoma1, when you're wish comes true about dumping all the nuclear waste in Oklahoma comes true, make sure you're in it. Kay? :)

  • why is everyone arguing?? this is youtube!!!!!! no cares what you think!! just stop complaining and don't search up things that anger you

  • what is ONE good thing about oklahoma???

  • Only 1 song is better and that is Boomer Sooner

  • The first time I saw this musical I was surprised at how dark it gets toward the end. "Hello, Dolly!" it ain't.

  • hey you fags are argueing on youtube! WTF is wrong with you, its a great American classic. Granted there weren't the little emo buttpumping homos like yourselves back in that day, but get and education on your nation's history before you go to knocking it. Or just continue to blow each other! Up to you! Boomer Sooner!

  • To all the haters: If you hate it so much, why get on Youtube and search for it?

    O_o

Go back to masturbating to Looney Tunes hentai....

  • Cinemascope or Todd AO?

  • Such a wonderful musical and in recent years it has received interesting new interpretations, including bringing Judd forward as a tragic figure and coloring Laurie much more complex and darker. The fact is anything can be done with this show; it's as pliable as silly putty and it still survives shiningly, inspiringly and thrillingly.

  • I love this song:)

  • Great my school is forcing us to sing it but its really good

  • i was born in Oklahoma City! OU FTW!

  • @iEpicTroll were oklahomans were u liv now

  • I'm a born American currently living in Central America. The second I heard the lyrics '...we belong to the land' the tears poured out of me.

  • "Plenty of room to swing a rope! Plenty heart and plenty of hope!"

    ~Best words in this musical

    -Nick D.

    Oklahoma

  • @VoxiousTV

    Hey buddy, where you from?

    I'm over in Edmond.

  • Twister made this song re-popular.. My Grandmom used to play the record allllll the time & my Mom loved the part about the "Hawk Makin Lazy Circles in the Sky"

  • Hi ! I really like that movie. Thank you for posting this video. Just to let know the people who posted before me, I'm french , leaving in France and maybe should I remind you that YOUTUBE is international so please don't give us a wrong image from your country by posting vulgar comments. I don't think you should insult each other here when this video is so full of beauty and love. Hope you will understand my english.

  • oooh! His voice! So deep and masculine!

  • God Bless TEXAS!

  • @trooperjoe73 god bless oklahoma cum to oklahoma kick ur ass just kiddin texas is second oklahoma is first

  • @redneckconner

    Sure thing

  • @1OklahomaSucks1

In the past couple of years I have moved back and forth between oklahoma and Texas and Texas has way more hicks than Oklahoma. It's what Texas is known for. If you have lived anywhere else you would realize that TEXAS is the backwards one.

    Stupid texan

  • Just seen the musical in Liverpool!! Very good.

  • OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHkalhoma!!

wonder if that guy had been ìn te juice when he wrote the song ?

  • I hate this state. People still speak like the country bumpkins in this video. Its devolution, I swear.

  • @akusuijin I like in Pennsylvania and I love Oklahoma, I go there once a year. It is an amazing state and is actually building up unlike Philadelphia which is falling down around their feet because they are poor as heck.

  • @mouschio Well, I don't know much about Pennsylvania or Philly. I have family in Penn. but I haven't been there since before I could remember. I think they live in greenwich, or something like that. Maybe I'll see the place if they have another family reunion.

  • @mouschio

What the fuck are you talking about? Oklahoma is the most shitty, racist state in the entire U.S. The U.S. would be much better off without Oklahoma and all it's fat, racist hicks. We should dump all of are nuclear waste in Oklahoma. That's the only use for that state.

  • @1OklahomaSucks1 It is so funny for you to call someone racist but yet be such a thick headed bigot yourself. I mean really, to call someone out for being intolerant and then showing your own true intolerance of other people. It is laughable how inferior your morals are in this world. I would hate to be in a state that has an idiot like you.

  • @mouschio

Yes, I'll admit I'm completely intolerant of racist rednecks and I have no intention of becoming tolerant of them. I truly don't care if that makes me a bigot or not. As far as I'm concerned, there are no room for racist hicks in this world.

  • @1OklahomaSucks1 ur a dumass ur insultin my state and my kind bitch fuc u r u nigger if so im gettin the kkk and im gunna kill all the niggers and all the gays

  • @mouschio @1oklahomasucks1 is so fucin gay insultin my state

  • @1OklahomaSucks1 thats all texas my friend and i quote "everything is bigger in texas" retard and texas is the mothership of rednecks so dont go off and say that shit and texas is white trash trailer parks faggot

  • @JaredJesse123

No you're wrong you dumbass. Oklahoma is way more hick than Texas on any given day. While Texas does have a high amount of hicks, Oklahoma has WAY more. The only reason people think Texas has the most hicks is because George Bush calls it home (even though he was born in Connecticut.). Nice try, but you fucking fail.

  • @1OklahomaSucks1 dude ur a dumbass have u even been to oklahoma no u havent cuz ur a white trash pice of shit and cant afford it go back to texas u faggot and marry ur brother fag

  • @JaredJesse123

I had to fucking live in Texas for 17 years you moron. Trust me I know just how backwards it truly is. Like I said, Oklahoma has way more hicks than Texas. Fuck Oklahoma and it's backwards ways.

  • @1OklahomaSucks1 fuc u we r hicks but oklahoma is cool better than ur dam fucin state ur stuc up like most of ur fucin texans bitch kiss my ass or i kick ur ass fucer

  • @1OklahomaSucks1 My Wife is from there, we love it... so shut up

  • Just watched Shirley Jones on BBC Breakfast TV, she still looks fantastic today, go girl.

  • What does sooners mean?

  • Sooners were people who cheated in the landruns of Oklahoma when the government opened up land. They left before everyone else to get a head start before the official land run started.

  • where the junebugs zoom

  • Go Sooners!

  • very good!

  • Cómo recuerdo esta bellísima canción primer lugar del Hit Parade en México 1957. Vivía en Tacubaya, Mexico City those were the happy days in my life. Efrem

  • The other side of Mrs. Partridge. Great solo and chorus singing (especially liked the vocal harmonies) and acting. This song can put a smile on your face, even if you're in a bad mood. They sure don't make them like this anymore. IMHO, the best Rogers and Hammerstein musical out of a treasure chest full of wonderful musicals.

  • Comment removed

  • YESSSSSSSSSS THIS IS THE AMERICA WE ALL NEED AGAIN!!!!!!! Even a guy from OHIO can cheer the SOONERS with this song!!!

  • @tradertom Sooners made by Jews on Broadway...

  • @tradertom Do you mean WHITE America??? And Oklahoma needs nothing from Ohio!!!

  • @tradertom Do you mean all WHITE? Oklahoma needs no support from Ohio!!!
