  • Going to see ZPZ tonight, can't wait, say Frank several times in the 70's. Love what Dweezil is doing to honor his dad

  • that bass player needs more fanfare. He smoked that solo.

  • Don't eat that yellow snow!!!!!! T.C. You know what I mean?

  • I'll bet Zappa gets really tired of being compared to his father but since he looks and plays so much like him he may as well go all the way with the long hair and the moustache.

  • 4:20 Led Zeppelin?

  • I love dweezil....his band is amazing too, but boy do I love dweezil <3 his does his pappa proud

  • Rip

  • Fuckin A people. Give that bass player more applause than that ! He tore up that bass solo. Sheesh

  • Not bad from what I hear from the noisy sound, but as always the original recording is usually the best!

  • fuderoso!!!!!!

  • pathetic

  • From 4:20 to 4:25 Z Junior plays black dog by Led Zepplin. Really strange track to do that in.

  • @MrBlaineyboots Er... actually, it's The Ocean, from Houses of the Holy. Sorry to be a pedant.

  • @scottytrotter

Hey dude, I'd hardly call that pedantic. But I would point out, even though the short riff before 4:20 sounds a little like part of the main riff to The Ocean, from 4:20 the riff is a carbon copy of Black Dog, from Led Zepplin IV.

  • @MrBlaineyboots it's both, and he does four sticks too

  • @scottytrotter Oh yeah. Well pointed out. I started early (at 4.10) but now that I've listened all the way through I've also spotted that immediately after Black Dog he briefly goes into Four Sticks from the same album.

  • @scottytrotter

Well spotted on the Four Sticks. Do you think it's odd that on a tribute album to his dad, on a track based on improvised soloing, he plays a Zepplin melody medley?

  • I have pretty much ended seeing any other acts other than the Steve Morse band and ZPZ/Dweezil. Both acts are pretty much all you need to enjoy great concert experiences.

  • Excellent Vid of the excellent ZPZ.

  • Dweezil is sneaking Led Zeppelin licks in at around 4:30.

  • Manca terribilmente Jack Bruce il vero autore of this tune !

  • Saw them at Clearwater. Bad ass band. They sounded great. Drummer is

    really really talented.

  • gene pool jackpot .

  • BTW, saw ZPZ w/RTF (or the other way around actually) very recently, ZPZ kicked ass. RTF put me to sleep.

  • Pete Griffin is great. Hope he earns a big name for himself someday.

  • @twinsmm1 ya he's a real family guy.

  • Nice solo Pete

  • I've got to say....being a Frank Zappa fan since the early 70's, and one who has seen FZ perform many times, I went to hear Dweezil's band with much skepticism. You can definitely hear his father's spirit behind the music, and each member of the band is an awesome musician in their own right. I'm certain Frank would have been very proud of his son. I just saw ZPZ last night at Meadowbrook in Detroit, and I was blown away. Dweezil has interpreted his dad's music in his own way, & he rocks.

  • @TheDrey777 - Hear, Hear. I saw Dweezil in Denver last month and I concur with you 100%. I will go to see Dweezil again every chance I get.

  • That bass player is way too busy for me. Inside joke.

  • Is dweezil the most nonchalant axe hero ever?

  • they are dead in the stage!

  • @ArenaFusionWeb

Do you have ANY Idea how hard it is to play this song ?

you cant dance or Head Bang while playing it

  • Frigin Excellent Bass..Bad Ass Thats The Way You Play a Fender Jazzzer Bass !!!

  • Wow that bass player is great, i think Frank Zappa wouldve recruited him for his

Band after 5 Minutes of listening ro him

  • Yes is NOT QUARTER ! GREAT

  • Awesome !!!!

  • I love how he stuck the tune from NO QUARTER in there at mn 4:27.

  • @lghalihaf actually was "Black Dog" followed by "Four Sticks"

  • i saw them live and loved them. they didnt play this but the bass fuzz is soooo off here. it should gritty as hell. dweezil can figure a way to make it sound good live, the idea is that the bass pretty much kills u and eats ur corpse so yeaah.

  • I loved the show. One of my favorite FZ albums and it was very well done!

  • The bass lacks the fire & imagination. Jack Bruce is always going somewhere... this goes nowhere. Just notes.

  • Saw this show in Indy. Totally off the hook! FZ would've been proud!

  • @djmungfish what part didn't do it for you?

  • jours de mon anniversaire!!! 05 julit domage je louperais l olympia

  • Nice chords by Dweezil during the Jack Bruce solo

  • Hey Tim (Mr Bungle) Yea man was a great show for sure!

Good to see you there!! Who knows which show we'll grace next!

Jeff and I were both in awe the whole time.

you were definately vibin after the show!

    Dennis

  • you must have been just in front of me. Great show!

  • <3 ZPZ was totally worth missing Iron Maiden for.

  • Wow... Frank's little boy does his father proud-

I was at the show in Moncton and as Dweezil was gracious enough to hang around up front where were were, that gave me the opportunity to tell him just that.

I've see FZ a few times in the 70s & 80s and I'm here to tell ya, the music and spirit of Frank Zappa is alive and well in the hands of his son.

  • a few cool Zeppelin quotes there. I was lucky enough to see this live great show.
