  • High way to germs this is what this surgery should be called

  • I had it done a month ago...whoa!

  • Yikes! Just had this done in left eye 10 days ago. So far so good.

  • nao gostei tudo en ingles.

  • very nice sir,

this is a fornix based conjunctival flap. is the limbal based peritomy leads same result sir?

  • Good god...

  • I am curious to know if there are issues with overfiltering post op. This procedure is done under topical lidocaine or marcaine gtts in my hands with no discomfort

  • AWFUL SURGERY! Try using a trabeculectomy punch rather than making such a huge hole in the eye! Work on higher magnifications, use adjustable removabe surure etc etc. Look at Prof Khaw's website for the real McCoy!

  • I had this done when i was 7.

Nice to know what went on lol.

    Cheers for posting!

  • I'm premed so I can be a surgeon. Do you have any advice for the actual work, like maybe hand exercises? Feedback would be wonderful.

  • thanks for posting

  • nice job!

  • The problem with this surgery is that when it start getting infected it s none stop infection . My opthalmologist call it an highway for infection .

  • can this some how affect the eye?

  • Yes, the eye cannot take too many of these procedures.

But it really does do a some sort of 'miracle'

I've had 23 eye operations and only thanks to YouTube have I found good videos on the procedures I've had done to me.

(Yes, I do have Glaucoma if anyone asks)

  • 23????? i better not tell my son that .How old were you when diagnose .

  • I was 3.

Doctors mistaked me for having Cancer in the eye when in fact I have Stickler's Syndrome.

I have Detached Retinas, Cataracts, Secondary Glaucoma, Rumotoid Arthritis, Neural Sensory Deafness and joint hyper-mobility and swollen joints.

My 23 operations are spread over my age.

They are a mix of 'under the knfie' and lasers.

I also have Vitrous oil in my eye to stop the retina from detaching, but it has emulsified (forgive my spelling if that was wrong) - which is causing problems

  • well i believe that most of those operations were performed due to your retinal detachment tbh (laser) ... by the way it seems highly unlikely to diagnose cancer when in fact it's stickler's sy.. i mean hello rings a bell? connective tissue disorder = high risk of eye involvement.. the docs who dx'd it as such are potentially dangerous..

  • Emulsified is correct lol... so it went soluble and it's not correctly maintaining pressure?

  • HJHKK

  • ...hard to watch...

  • can someone plz reply to me ids high eye pressure like u feel like crying like ure walking normally and u like feel like crying like without getting hurt or insulted like just a normal walk and u usualy feel like crying for no reason

  • are you still counscious? when his performing surgery eye surgery i mean

  • Yes you are, I just had mine today.

  • the doctor said im fine its a normal effect

  • u also have to put youreself in the hands of a good doctor

  • totallty a lie

  • Thank you for posting this my 13 year old son we be able to learn about this procedure since he had it done and i could never explain to him what it was.

  • i cant wait to try this at my 3rd world clinic house

  • it is good teaching vedio but quality of vedio little poor, we all do trabeculectomy under peribulbar, no problem

  • this is plain trabeculectomy whereas deep sclerectomy (which was posted in your video) would require another and deeper layer of scleral dissection aside from the routine more anterior dissection.

  • you are right, it is just a plain TRAB. Just read the title which says so.

  • @ovomed the tittle says PLAIN TRABECULECTOMY!!!!! ugh you are very embarrising

  • (increase IOP during surgery )

  • peribulber anesthesia will increase IOP so, Trabeculectomy usually don under general anesthesia...

  • In the asian & south east asian countries nobody does a Trab under GA. Infact if a good peribulbar is given along with a good massage the IOP comes down a bit because of 1. massage 2. relaxation of the extraocular muscles. 3. relaxation of the Orbicularis Oculi muscles. Even in cataract extraction, a peribulbar if combined with hylase will reduce the IOP considerably after ocular massage...

  • Just to confirm for any other readers, Glaucoma is common in Asian and 'Black' ethnic groups (sorry, I hate the word 'black'). And also more common in family history.

  • No CL Monk, glaucoma is common in people of African origin. Asians do not have an higher incidence than the so-called whites, arabic or indian populations.
