  • What happens when you put an audio cd in it?

  • Here is the new homebrew loader : dengee[DOT]net/n9u9a

    Have fun ;)

  • that' because else it would just be to easy to swap discs

  • The PS3 has a generic USB host interface, and the drive has a USB controller and motor/laser firmware. This is probably just the drive revving up the disk to read volume ID of the disk. The PS3 obviously doesn't support the hardware. Also it would see it as a USB storage device not a actual optical media device.

Labeling this as an exploit is pretty lame..

  • common people he is froud

  • point? you didnt prove a thing honestly........that cd rom is gonna spin up the minute a disc is inserted and it has power which u provided by the ps3 usb...

you might fool some of these guys but I know otherwise dude

  • no it doesnt. you power up a dvd/cd drive without connecting the ide/sata/usb to anything and it wont spin up fully with a disc in. the moment you make a connection it will read the disk, as its shown on this video.

  • a 5 1/4" drive is un able to be bus powered due to the poer requrements being 12+v and usb only gives 5v. the drive requires an external power supply also the usb to eide bridge he used was taken from an external odd.

The disc spun twice first when it was inserted and second when he connected it to the ps3. When he connected it to the ps3 th console loaded drivers and did a media check on the drive.

odd is optical disc drive for the uninformed

  • haaa, no mames cual es chiste yo no vi ni madres y ps que como conctaste esa unidad a un usb???

  • how do ur do that?it internal?

can ps3 play backup game yet?
