Same old BS. If you'd ever actually used Premiere for any amount of time you'd see you can actually maximize any of the panels...and "focus" in on it. Oy vey!
As usual the question with Linux apps is where the hell do you actually find a version for your particular distro... and how the hell do you install it? But no, instead they go right to editing a video...un-facking-believable.
@nakedvolleyball Yeah, what I don't like about some Linux users is that sometimes they think that you know as much as they do. and if you have some question, they go crazy with "go RTFM".
@GenoSkill most of the community actually aren't elitests. it's actually a brutal cycle of noob looks for help, meets a douche saying to rtfm, eventually the noob learns that way, and forces future noobs to rtfm. ubuntu's community has always been really nice and helpful to newcomers. remember OSS is all about the community, if people are being dicks, they're doing it wrong.
thanks I found the Adobe Premiere Pro complicated like Sony Vegas 9 trial but too expensive how would you compare this open source to Kino and Avidemux open sources software? I have a sony video camera that uses those min DV tapes I dislike it a lot cause you have to use a firewire transfer to computer and my new system doesn't have the port so I have to put into husbands system pain in the neck so once I get all my videos in computer I'm selling it ;)
there are few tutuorials such as this on youtube: Video editing basics with KDEnlive under Linux , all you need do is search kdenlive tutorials. :)
I have cinelerra, actually forced it to build on linux mint, and there is one error others have solved so I will try it out too. Great tutorial! I've heard blender has possibilities too.

And by the way, if the quality of this vid is the quality you're getting out of Cinerella, you better learn it some more. A lot more.

How does it being a(n) NLE make it "different"...any video software basically uses NLE.

this problem exists everywhere. also in windows forums. there you get the answer "ask goolge". :)
but i agree. it's hard to get any help. luckily there are some communitys where the people are very nice.

@proscribere
Right! the problem is that windows forums are people "Trying" to understand a CLOSE os.
A Windows user never could reach a programmer to ask help, the opposite of Linux, where the world is the programmer.

@haxfactory
I can only confirm.
I'm on Ubuntu from the launch of Vista....
Gutsy Gibbon was a bit hard to configure for some cases, and forums always tryed to give a hand.
Clearly ,not everyone on the forums are programmers, so i've needed to chase the truth.
But now with Lucid Linx everything is so perfect that forums are almost useless. (For me).
Cinelerra deserves really a bigger consideration by movie producers.

In Cinelerra, when I try to view a video, for some reason it's fast forwarded and theres no audio, please help! :(
