Belgium is a great country for beer...but the U.S is quickly catching up, if it hasn't passed that country in some respects. The amount of variety you get in the U.S is like nowhere else in the world. The microbrew revolution was a great thing
I'm drinking my 1st bottle of Hoegaarden, on recommendation of a guy who was standing next to me at the Fry's grocery beer section; the store has a single bottle beer area, pick your 6 bottles for $9 or some decent price.
Me favourite wheat beer is "Paulanar's Hefe-Weißbier naturtrüb". (~ P's [Barm-]Wheat naturally cloudy, I don't know if the "barm-" has any official meaning but I thought it mean that the barm wasn't exfiltrated.)
"Guide to beer types" AND YOU´RE USING A WHEAT BEER FROM BELGIUM??? Next time use real wheat beer from germany with a long tradition and not that shit.
i don't that there are 1000 breweries in germany. The fact is that belgium is the country of beer because there are 343 types of beer, what about germany a hundred types of beer so belgium is the shit dude...
Germany has over 1000 breweries. Every brewery brews at least one special beer. So we have over 1000 different types of beer. Germany has a long tradition and invented the purity law.
@TomCruiseParamount No, you are wrong. Maybe I read some lies, but I am not Canadian. And I never was there. I am from Germany. And yes it is a dream, if you love beer.
@TheEagle1 Dude, Belgium is has a much longer tradition of beer. We are making beer since the Ceasar conquered Gallia. Germany wasn't part of the roman empire and only started making beer after the fall of the roman empire. But apart from that belgium beer is also better than german beer.
@TheEagle1 They prefered wine but in north gallia (belgium/ north of france) beer was more popular then wine. BTW, beer culture in germany is older then 1516, the bavarian Reinheitsgebot is only a step in the improvement of beer. Beer was introduced in the north of europe after the fall of the roman empire. Thats 476 AC.
@TheEagle1 It certainly has! Give me one good reason why not. I can't think of any. Beer of the middle ages is the predecessor of the beer today. Important beer regions back then are still important now.
Ivan, I hope you appreciate your job

It's pronounced "HOO-gaarden." It's not a garden full of hoes...

he left all of the yeast stuck to the bottom of the bottle.... you can't just pour these beers like you would pour a normal beer.

This beer is the best belgium wheat beer i've had, for its smooth flavour. But i'm a bigger fan of Krombacher Weizen, the german wheat beer.

Yeah... the Romans knew cervisia, but they said it is a barbarian drink. Beer culture started in Germany in 1516 with the bavarian Reinheitsgebot.
