okay. they peddled crap calling it gold. but it was fannie mae and freddie mac, whose very names indicate that these two companies were marketing to black american minorities, that created the toxic assets mortgages in the first place. They disobeyed every law of common sense and sound business.
The SEC just slapped Goldman Sachs for a 1 billion $ fraud scheme.... That's just a grain of sand on top of a mole hill compared to the real amount they have defrauded... But what u gonna do. If this is democracy, i don't want it....
These Shylocks invent instruments, make, then change the rules regarding these instruments, and then ponzi scheme them so fast the next thing you know these guys are sharing billions in bonuses while the economy is getting worse, not better.
And now that the Bush neocons on the Supreme Court have given foriegn corporations the ability to BUY elections, you might as well go and wake up your kids right now and tell them the people's vote ain't worth the shit in their diapers
A coup d'état by a patriotic american army should happen so instead of being deployed overseas to solve other countries business and being killed in the name of PEACE American soldiers MUST get rid of those white collar crooks and banksters in the government and give to its people REAL FREEDOM AND EQUITY!
@Squeegee73 That fills me with hope. That simple human pleasures and joys are still more valuable to people than the pleasure of material gain and the love of power and control.
@Squeegee73 Post a video that has this title and I guarantee that you will receive more hits in ONE HOUR than this video has received in one year; "Britney Spears Nipple Accident".
I agree with you 100% and it not only frustrates me, it saddens me that our populace has been Dumbed down so far that they have no idea who Goldman Sachs is or what is happening to their way of life and how badly they are being screwed every minute of every day by corporations and their own government.
I always thought this quote by Lou Marinoff was a bit over the top until recently:
"America is Rome reincarnate. Like the Roman empire, the American empire is vastly powerful and unfathomably corrupt. Like Rome, America imposes her civilization upon an ungrateful world. Like Rome, America needs bread, circuses and philosopher-statesmen to forestall and yet to hasten her demise."
I'm not sure about never, but it's been a steady march to fascism since the federal reserve act of 1913. For a long time our success was a by-product of the enrichment of the fascists, but with globalization came greener, more exploitable pastures for the banking cartel. Once they got their global "free trade" agenda enacted, they didn't need us anymore. Honest economy was discarded when looting became more profitable.
Ah, he wants to hold Goldman Sachs accountable after waxing on and on about how Goldman Sachs was entwined with government. Fat chance dude. So what enabled Goldman Sachs to lend all this money? Where did it come from? How could this money be cheaply lent? If Rolling Stone wants a real expose, why don't they go after the Federal Reserve?
excellent point. however, Taibbi is doing good work... people will follow the money to its ultimate source. I have been studying this for 10 years, back then nobody talked about it, now it's everywhere. I feel we are near a tipping point.
I was impressed by his mention of corporatism in the last 3 administrations. Unfortunately I get the sense he is blaming free market capitalism. Many of us hold the position that the nation has never actually known such a thing, and that its existent continues to be dissolved into corporatism.
It's because 'free maket capitalism' is a utpean illusion, just like communism. Ultra rich capitalists will always coalesce to form predatory power structures such as cartels, monopolies, oppressive security agencies, etc. If there is government in place they will simply exert their power through it. Ayn Rand pointed out the hazards of collectivism in order to promote something equally pernicious, just as Marx did.
Unless you meant utopian, you lost me in the first sentence. Also, in the history of our own nation, such 'power structures' have only been able to exist with the coercive force of government backing them. Then the second half of your comment threw me for a loop. So I am not sure what economic model you would find preferable. Are you confusing capitalism with corporatism?
@flyhead2 Free market capitalism is only an illusion because of the prescence of government. It's the laws and regulations passed by government that favour the growth of monopolies and cartels. It still remains to be seen whether a free market could exist and power structures would necessarily flourish because there have always been governments.
@flyhead2 The real illusion that people hold is the illusion that economic power and political power can remain independent. They never have. The differences are only a matter of degree to which these two collude. But you always end up with the same thing whatever name you want to give it: Fascism, Communism, State Capitalism, Corporate Fascism, Crony capitalism,........
There is always someone who will rig the system in their favor while stealing from the working class. We need a hired assasin to take them out one by one. Their expensive lawyers would find a way to get them off. A bullet in every one of them is the only answer. Even Ken Lay's wife kept all the money because of a loop hole when he supposably died. I hear he is alive and well living in South America. I know people who have seen him in Brazil.
I believe 1000% that Ken Lay is alive and well. He was so well connected with his buddies in the Bush administration that they said "Hey bubba we can make you disappear and you and your wife can keep all of the money you stole from Enron and the taxpayers". They were so blatant with this by slapping the American public in the face with it flaunting the fact that there is nothing we could do to stop them. All these assholes will be burning in hell someday !
They saw him over a year ago while they were on vacation in Brazil. They saw he and his wife eating at a restaurant. They said he looked teh same, that he didn't bother to have plastic surgery to alter his face. That is just braising and goes to show you what an theiving, asshole he really is.
Golman-Sachs brings us now to B. Obama! The next tool in a long line of Tools for the Reich!

Merely a bit of meat to forestall any more criticisms while
the crooks go on as usual. Throw the starving a tiny promise
and we get right back to scrounging for the daily vitals and
stop questioning. Only the rich have spare time to ask questions
and those are only how they may create more self benefits
from the labor of the thralls. u n me.

I watched a You Tube video today about a couple dancing at their wedding that had over 8 million hits.
Here we have evidence they we're all being f*cked up the ass by a criminal oligarchy yet just over 11,000 people worldwide have bothered to tune in.
That's what makes me despair.
