  • Great Demo!

  • hey are the pickups golds or hot golds?

  • Hey! Do they make any noise at all? Or are they absolutely noiseless?

  • Hey! Do they any noise at all?

  • Cool sound! Amazing!

  • Hab ich da eben BAB gehört? =P

  • It sounds like Brian May when he plays with some distortion.

  • do you remember which distortion you used??

  • jaja, ur guitar sounds like my electric-acoustic guitar with distortion xD

  • gold lace sensors are cool, but they sound best when doing more cleaner tones.

  • You should use a noise gate!

  • Verdamp lang her!

  • my strat plus with gold lace sensors sounds like garbage with distortion! :(

    your strat does not!

  • @6guitar6skater6 it depends what distortion you use, and how you use it!

  • @6guitar6skater6

depends what you plug it into obviously and what you have in front of the amp.

  • When i save some money, should I make a parts warmoth stratocaster with a 30th anniversery hot gold preloaded pickup? I want this to be a golden strat

  • ive ordererd myself a set of gold in a prewired pickguard, did those by anychance come prewired?

  • what kind of distortion?

  • Sweet toneof your Gold Lace Sensors !

Your playing is excellent, too !

    Stu

  • would yo like to tell me the fx pedals ?

  • how are you getting such a powerful sound with single coils????

  • he looks nervous

  • is that a highway one ur playing ?

  • why do these amatures start with the f&&^&^^%^ "distortion??

  • are you using just the amp to get it dirty? If not, what are you using to drive it?

  • I have one in the middle position and it sounds amazing.. I have a Fender Squier

  • It's just my imagination or the guitar sounds louder when you play a solo in the firsts strings around the 12 freet that when you play a riff???

  • i really want to put better pickups in my mexican strat, but i still want that strat sound just beefed up some, someone plz tell me what they think!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice tone! All that with no noise gate? :-)

Is your bridge pickup the optional Hot Bridge (13.2k) or the Standard (6.0k)?

  • @JohnJeevasingham he says theyre golds, not hot golds so all should be 5.8k.

  • I have an American stratocaster plus II deluxe I bought back in 1994 with the lacesensors red silver and blue. It is such a quiet guitar compared to my les paul or es335. those pickups are not as loud as some others but for the quiet they produce when not being played they are amazing. the red bridge pickup alone sounds full and thick like a humbucker or mini humbucker.

  • hey man would these work for hard rock?

  • what kind of these pickups should i buy? I play mostly hard rock

  • red in the bridge position. you don't get that hendrix tone when you roll off the volume but the pseudo double coil sound is wonderful.

  • Hey at the beginning you play a green day song called 16

  • @eduardo0796 that's a very old song

  • Great playing. Liked your tone too. I have the hot gold set too. I'm thinking about putting them in another guitar.

  • is that a Red Knob Twin?

  • Yes it is! :)

  • are you using a pedal on it.. i cant seem to get good distortion with it

  • im so glad this is the pickups i ended up picking from a whole lot of types of pickups

  • You listen to a lot of Paul Gilbert, huh?

Thanks for putting this up! I'm glad there's someone out on youtube who can play well, demo-ing these pickups.

  • Those aren't the Hot Gold ones, are they?

  • Those are single coil pickups?

  • yep

  • Which are the best for classic single coil tones, Red, Blue, Gold or silver?

  • The Gold is the best out of them, well in my opinion

    lol

  • Red has super high output usually in the bridge. Blue is deeper and silvers pretty fat. I just use straight hot golds, they have a slightly stronger output than regular golds and can handle some serious drive. It depends what you want Sound wise, if you go on to their site you can look up a color coding chart on what tone each color puts out, then choose the one thats right for you. All of them are noiseless too I believe, but you can still utilize feedback with them.

  • Multicoloured..... (Throws a spanner in the works)

  • according to the descriptions on the website, that'd be the silver. But Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck have both used the golds.

  • actually though, the best single coil lace tone comes from the holy grails.

  • I've got a set of these, gold, blue, and red, and I'm sticking them in my fav strat. I had an older strat that they were in that I used as a backup, but these are so good that I'm replacing a dimarzio that I have in the good strat with these laces. I use my POD Pro into the effects loop of my all tube Peavey 120 watt amp and it rocks.. It's the best of both worlds..

    Thanks.> Good video..

    Tim

  • are these the ones that come prewired? if so how hard is instalation? and anyone got any input on the prewired.

  • i use these same pickups. they are truly amazing. so versitile.

  • Damn nice!!! Never heard a fender sound massive like this. Ironicly with a pickup that was made to sound very clean. Nice dude.

  • I have a 1991 Stratocaster Plus with gold Lace Sensor. It's soo funny, cause once you play with lace sensors, there is no way you could go back to any other pickups.

  • that strat is fuckin nice.......

  • this tone is fucking phenomenal.

  • dude, nice playing!

That color of that guitar of yours, is candy apple red or some similar one ?

From the video, seems quite darker from the standard candy apple red in most fenders...

    thanx in advance

  • Hey, the Coulour is called Midnight Wine! =)

  • @Fibson86 nice sounding strat man, I just got a 2003 midnight wine fat strat , plays beautifully sounds great and looks dead sexy too :)

  • I just bought a fender squier for like $50, off of a friend, to try and fix up, i am definitley putting these pickups in it(:

  • they sound powerful! are these active?

  • nope, all of our pickups are passive...we dont believe in batteries

  • i see it the same way.

  • what do you mean we?

  • i am affiliated to say the least

  • no, they are passive!

  • yeah i know now, i was just making sure. and kittykiller562 told me. but thanks though.

  • Wow. I too have a candy apple red Strat with a maple fretboard but with hot gold laces. Or maybe yours is a little darker than candy apple. Either way you have awesome taste

  • hows the 60 cycle hum with these pickups?

  • these are noiseless pickups...all of the Lace pickups are noiseless

  • how are these pickups for pinch harmonics, are the weak or strong sounding

  • i would say they're prett good since they have such high output...although ive never tred them xD

But that would be my guess :)

  • So are you using your amp's distortion, or a pedal? Nice, punchy tone!

  • It's a Distortion of a multieffects pedal from Korg.

  • whats the sound difference from the lace pick ups and the stock ones?

  • are the gold lace in every position¿?

  • Yes!

  • so they pretty much rock in every position you put them?? they rock as well on clean right? than bell like tone...would you recommend upgrading my vintange noiseless for a gold in the neck or middle?

  • Where is the noise in the start coming from? Hopefully not from the pickups!

  • are these pickups active or passive?

  • passive

  • They sound Amazing! My style!

  • what is your amp and distorsion?

  • What is that riff called at 1:29

  • Its just a blues riff in E

  • its a groove of some sort

  • Thanks man. Been looking for these pickups with distortion for awhile. I'm gonna put a lace gold in the neck on my squire. Haven't decided middle and bridge pickups. Squire's suck....but hey. It was my first electric guitar, and i loved it.

  • i agree with you. my squire strat really does suck, but i figured if i put in some lace sensor pickups, it would sound decent atleast, especially for clean tones

  • squiers probably not worth investing that kinda money into. Money prolly better spent on an american strat.

  • Dude AWESOME! How much u buy for the effects/pedal?

  • i was looking for a mexi strat in that color but i played a black one and it was just too amazing to let go. now i'm trying to decide between the red/white/blue or triple gold pickups. thanks for the post man!

  • are there any buzz?

    i cant hear it clearly.

    thanks

  • is this mexican standard?and what year?

hav u had any problems with the guitar?

    it sound really good.

    thanks

  • Comment removed

  • It's actually a Mexican Standard, as he says in the description of his "clean" demo. The American Standard doesn't come in Midnight Wine anyway.

Also, both American and Mexican Strats are available with either Rosewood or Maple necks, and Maple is equally common on both.

  • the mexican standards?

    80% have rosewood.

i looked at his video that it is indeed a mexican. but looks like an american standard..

and my uncles got an american from 97' that is midnight wine.

  • 80% have rosewood? Where did you get that info? Everyplace that sells MIM stuff tends to have maple boards as an option in every color.

  • it was a rough estimate.

that was not the point i was trying to make either,

i was saying that they do have usa midnight wine strats.

  • I own a usa midnight wine with rosewood fretboard.they make them...

  • cool

  • Is these hum with distortion? I kind of hear it, but Im not sure if it's the enviroment or your guitar... Do it generate hum? And if so, is it annoying or nothing to care about?

  • hes also right next to the amp

  • The Lace Sensor generates way less hum than your average strat pickup, but it's not as noiseless as the "Fender Noiseless" pickups.

But I tell you, it's noiseless enough for me. :)

  • but the fender noiseless pickup is 'quiet' to me too

im tellin ya people RED SILVER BLUE!!

lol if i had to chose two though (for say,.. A MUSTANG?)

red and blue or red and gold =)

    super versitality =p

  • I have the red silver and blue and they are almost completely noiseles, even next to my amp. Not to mention they sound awesome!!

  • You're right! :)

  • what are the setting to do and what can we are particularly played on his micropho ne thanks eduardo

  • what position is it in, in the beginning?

  • What position is the switch in????? bridge, mid, or neck?

  • I switch between Bridge, Middle, an Neck!

  • oh alright, thanks for the info, i didn't notice.

  • did you get the set with the 13.2 k bridge or are they all 5k ?

  • What kind of amplifier/distortion are you running your guitar through? I on and off seem to have trouble getting my golds past a certain saturation point which is, since they are lower rated pickups not surprising unless I'm using a digital distortion preset. Also, how high do you have them set?

  • Sorry, i didn't understand your question...

  • He means that his pickups are too weak to get the amp to overdrive. Digital doesn't require high output. The question I think is how high in height are your're pickups set? This influences the output of the pickup, but these are active so the influence is lesser and they "just" only pickup the string not everything else like normale pickups.

  • What kind of distortion are you using?

  • i hear this pickups are basically noiseless, is this true or do you still get some hum? Also, do you know anything about the Red/silver/blue pickups? im going for a eletric blues sound, clean and mid distortion.. what would you say? I hear the gold's are much better with blues, but im just looking for a personal opinion.

  • i honestly like the blue for the neck, gold middle and red in the bridge. gives you a very versatile range.

  • Blackmore used Golds on his "own" (ie Custom Shop Artist model) - they are really overlooked too often. Recommend Lace Sensors all the time.

  • Have you used any of the other lace sensors? I'm thinking of putting the Red/Blue/Silver set on my Squier Strat. Or do you think it'd even be worth it to try to update a Squier with good pickups? idk. I Might get a Mexico Strat, but I can't afford it right now. And, I'm thinking of getting Alumitones for My Ibanez. Sorry about the long comment. Just wonderin' what I should do with my guitars.

  • no, haven't used any other Lace Sensors...

sorry, don't know anything about the Alumitones..

  • the red silver and blue set is a great set and will sound probably very good on the squier compared to the stock, i put lace sensor red silver and blue pickups on my MIM strat and then put the stock pickups from that (98 MIM Fender strat) and put those in my squier and there is an improvment, ive also heard of other people doing it and being happy with it so. yea.

  • i would say, if you like the sound of the strat, go for the Mexican. save the money on the pickups (maybe put them on the mexi.) I would wait it out and get the money for the nicer guitar.

  • should I get texas or lace sensor?

  • ???

    Don't know, what you mean!

  • its a Pickup fender lace sensor or texas special or tex-mex?

    what pickup are you using?

  • These Pickups are Lace Sensor Golds!

  • how much did they cost you though?

Im thinking of getting Lace sensor

but part of me keeps pulling me back to buy

noiseless pickups texas special or texmex ahahhhh cant decide

  • It's just a question of what Sound you like...

with the Lace Sensors you get a clean Sound like Clapton, they sound like 50's Pickups, bell like and crispy Highs...

The Texas Special Pu's have more Mids...Stevie Ray Vaughan and Mark Knopfler use them...About the Texmex Pu's i don't know...haven't played them yet...

For The Price, search at Google...:)

  • oh, and what year?

  • Yes it's Midnight wine...sorry i don't know the Year!

  • is that the midnight wine finish?

  • Do these pickups produce a long lasting sustain?

  • What pickup position are you in?

  • I use more than one Position...

at first Brigde and Middle, than the Neck Pickup...

  • i noticed in your videos the sound fades in and out, kinda fks up your sound, but can tell its good.

  • dude i have a MiM strat as well, lace sensor pickups: red, silver and blue at the neck. Check my video out, the playing kinda sux, i was messing around. Let me know what you think, i'll post better stuff soon.

  • are you using a pedal, if not what kinda amp is that?

  • I´m using a Korg AX100G Multieffect for the Distortion.

The Amp is a Fender Twin.

  • nice playing!

  • Thx! :-)

I don't know, what makes you so stupid, but i think it works! ;-)

  • yea southparkken is the arrogant fuck

  • ahaha what a ridiculous comment

I'd say he showed a full range of tones in what he did.

  • Idk, this dude is just trying to be rude and obnoxious like on.... South Park?

    Grow up man.

  • is that a mexican made strat or american made?

  • mexican

  • is that color candy cola?

  • Wine Red!

  • Nice tone, and very nice playing, well done.

Have you done any other mods to your strat or is it just the Lace Sensors?

  • Only the Pickups!

  • Sweet playing. Would you recommend one for a tele?

  • I dont know anything about pickups, but you played well...

  • so let's say that i buy one gold...where should i put it?

  • in the neck position, or in the middle...

  • that's what i figured. Do you know anything 'bout reds? Great playing btw i almost forgot XD

  • I only know, that teh reds are the hottest ones of the Lace Sensors!

Higher output...means more Overdrive and Dostortion, but i haven't tried them yet, sorry!

  • Nice playing, Good sound.

What amp is that? cant quite see.

  • A Fender Twin Amp!

  • Awsome thanks man!

  • What distortion pedal are u using? I have a Am. Fender Strat, with normal single coils though and am looking for a distortion pedal with a good punch and not one that sounds too trebly. Do you have any suggestions?

  • It`s just an old Multieffect by Korg Toneworks, the AX100G.

  • Nice Nice Nice!!! Think I'm gonna have it all Gold!!!

  • Okay, have fun! :)
