@emzable8 Believe me I play for 2 teams, and I've seen young women and girls who weigh maybe 100 pounds playing on the field and despite their size they get shit done. like you said you just have to give it all you got and you will succeed.

You should be able to promote rugby at school! I am the only girl in my area playing rugby, and I joined the men, although I'm not very tall and not very heavy. Go for rugby. Make it something that is special to you!

Our school's guy rugby team's coach wont let the girls have a team because our practice might interfere with his.

So we made a club, but we're no allowed to promote it at school. :/

As an Englishman I am expected to value football (soccer) above all other sports, but as I enjoy (American) football as much as (the-rest-of-the-world) football, rugby really is the ideal sport.

It encourages a balance of athleticism, skill, pace, stamina, strength and tactics like no other sport and - though it may not be popular yet - the growth of US teams is a great way to popularise it.

very well said however in football you also need athleticism, skill (dif positions), pace, stamina, strengh, tactics, concentration. Many defense and offense schemes to learn in American football.

Excellent video. In England we think we have it tough when we move the 10 & 11 year old girls on to playing in girls teams. Seems like the States have it even tougher. Women's Rugby is the fastest team sport in England and we're hosting the 2010 Womens Rugby World Cup - it's all about the legacy. Well done USA.

I think thats great what they are doing and it is true. Rugby is the greatest sport in the world. However..I didnt see any rugby in that video, all I saw was sevens.

and even and 15 a side womens rugby i have watched (and that has been international level) has been impressive, but still not really rugby.

i also got choked up watching this because the college i graduated from (marist college), their current women's rugby team is 16th in the nation and has an opportunity at nationals in florida, but marist wont fund for them to go. if it were a male team, i feel the story would be a lot different

Same thing happend to my team this season. We were going to Florida for a match and it got cancelled because of funding. The mens team has gotten to go to California twice this season, and are going to New Mexico soon.
