  • Question, has anyone seen the episode of Unsolved Mysteries with the lost loves family from Wyandotte, MI? the update of the story was in my home town of Taylor, which is Just outside Detroit!

  • Why is it that Obama and Bernenke can print billions of fiat dollars, further eroding our currency, and yet they're NOT arrested for counterfeiting? Weimar implosion, here we come!

  • @Linguiphile because for the federal government its not agasint the law its real money not counterfit dumbass

  • He's DB Cooper

  • @Armymaj I think he at least should be investigated. Fingerprint comparison would be the first step since they have his prints on file.

  • Thumbs up if you actually watched it from the start and listened to what was inside the oil drum!

  • A really bad feeling came in the room watching this O.o

  • @sweetnessrenaify No, a bad feeling came from you lol

  • Check the continuity... As Mel and his 1st wife are packing to leave, Mel has a US accent. Where's the British accent that so beguiled his wife?

    Oops...

  • @BlueRice then whats in that barrel?

  • @BlueRice Watch the video. If you pay close attention you will figure it out.

  • I like this guy ....

  • No, Catch me if you can was based on a real man named Frank Abignal Jr. He is still alive today and works as a consultant for the FBI and has designed most of the safeguards set in place today to stop check, and cash counterfeiters. He is a good guy now.

  • Was this based on Catch Me if You Can?

  • @pokabeb These crimes happened starting in the 1950s - 1971 when he disappeared. Maybe Catch Me if You Can was based on old crimes like this one.

  • @evickiwilson Catch me if you can is just as it shows. It's about Frank Abagnale and only him. He was caught and they still know where he is.

  • @davedavedude hey, I know...I was making a funny/facepalm type comment.

  • No updates?

  • @yingdiskette - Absolutely no updates. No Leads.

  • @evickiwilson your dad would be in his 80s so he might be dead or alive nowadays!

  • @ruantengyi I was just thinking that. There is a good chance he passed away or is now handicapped by old age.

  • @dakotasgame Oh ok Junior.

  • @alottaUtube

Is that good or bad. I'm the son

  • My god! i have this episode on VHS still!

  • @streetroyalty1 how many unsolved mysteries segments do u still have on vhs, can you burn some onto a dvd and sell it to me?

  • @ericwaffle31 I will uploads all them in the next month when I find out how. Got lotta old shows/movies like Nash Bridges.

  • His son5:58 looks exactly like him!

  • the host looks like the host in ''cops''

    sorry for my bad english...

  • At the VERY beginning to this, there is very creepy music, that I remember from the show a long time ago. Can you upload a longer version of that creepy music, or maybe the intro to this episode? If you can, it'd be cool.

  • @clownface29 just search for unsolved mysteries theme on youtube.

  • @entropy44 I tried that, but nobody has that full intro. It used to give me the chills. It must have been a theme that didn't last as long as the others. It is very eerie, though.

  • @clownface29 I KNOW I WAS BORN IN 90' N GREW UP ON THE ONE YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT...ITS THE ONLY THING IN THE WORLD THAT CREEPS ME OUT...I COULD SEE A PERSON DIE AND IT WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING TO ME...I'M DESENSITIZED NOT GOING TO LIE LMAO

  • WOW

  • zomg DAD!

  • lol who else thought there was a dead body in the barrel

  • @holysnackpack i did... because just a few months ago, the police here found a rusty barrel in the lake and there was a dead body inside... very tragic.

  • @Nawty2Hawty damn that sucks man musta been some scary shit

  • @holysnackpack I totally did, I was thinking oh man, I would never open a random sealed barrel floating down the river like that HAHA.

  • He'd be 82 now if he's still alive. According to the Unsolved Mysteries Wiki, the case is still open.

  • THIS GUY HAS A Mysterie VOICE

  • can anyone find the version of the theme music playing at the beginning of this video?

  • nice old truck!!!!!!

  • @evickiwilson - what up Sista!

  • south9563 - thanks for getting the joke. It's been 13 years and that's the first lol I've gotten. But I actually said "it wasn't the Cleavers" not "we wasn't the Cleavers"

  • @Armymaj Hey ....Bro!!

  • i used to watch this show when i was a kid i specially enjoyed watching it alone ,i used to get so scary sometimes greatings from peru

  • LOL "we wasn't the cleavers"

  • why do they have to make the music so spooky

  • the music they used in this show used to scare the shit out of me. It's just soo creepy sounding.

  • I really hate that music when they do an age progression of Mel at the end of the clip

  • Thumbs up if you thought it was a dead body in the oil drum at the begining.

  • It's DB Cooper.

  • @Ladiestreat Yes...I believe he could be

  • @Ladiestreat LOL!! that would be crazy, that would mean that the money would be real

  • @Ladiestreat Db cooper stole money.. not counterfeited.. lol

  • @lauvamojada - I believe what he was trying to say is Melvin Wilson left the second family in September 1971, was a career criminal and has never been seen or heard of since. He matches the physical description of Dan Cooper. Career criminals usually just don't stop committing crimes. The Federal Bureau of Investigation confiscated all his counterfeit money. He was on his way to court for the counterfeiting charges and was never seen again.

  • @Ladiestreat

identity od D B Cooper was finally revealed a few days ago, check it in google :)

  • @mrdexter86 ....The presumed identity of Lynn Doyle Cooper being DB Cooper is still not confirmed by DNA or fingerprints. These tests are at the Quantico forensic lab and the results have not been released as of yet. The first tests on the guitar strap and DNA of LD's daughter came back as negative. So without the confirmed matches it is still an open case until the FBI closes it as unsolved.

  • @ruantengyi Maybe they still love their father. I was a little confused by that the first time I saw this case too.

  • @RealTime88 Ha ha....I was IN the show and the first time it aired I was confused also. There is NO lost love here.

  • @evickiwilson Oh you were? Wow that is a huge honor. I like Unsolved Mysteries and I would love to be used in that show.

  • @RealTime88 No, we don't, and never did love him. He left us when we were just babies. We never knew him, and I have no memories of him. I only know him by Unsolved Mysteries. My mother was Ruth. You can't miss what you never had. But, he was an only child, and when the bastard left us, he also left his mother. She was broken hearted, and always hoped she's see him someday...... for 40 years, until she died. I thank my mom for keeping her in our lives.... we were all she had.

  • @LyndaWWM Your mother is a hero then. I agree you can't miss what you never had. I think that's with any relationship though. I'm only 22 and I will say if I had children I would never leave them. When you have kids THEY become your everything your life. You are only fighting for them and you become more patient about the world because you realize everyone is someone's child. Sad to see your father never saw that. I'm sorry you lost your mom, my condolensenes.

  • @RealTime88 No, I didn't lose my mom.............. What I was saying, is the HE LEFT HIS MOTHER, too. Not just us. He was an only child, and left HIS Mother. My mother is alive and well.

  • @RealTime88 No, I didn't lose my mom.............. What I was saying, is the HE LEFT HIS MOTHER, too. Not just us. He was an only child, and left HIS Mother (my grandmother). My mother is alive and well.

  • @LyndaWWM Okay now this story is becoming more clear. He left your grandmother then married your mother then left her and we already know he was a career criminal. Did the police ever capture him?

  • @RealTime88 To answer your question "Did the police ever capture him?" No....he has not been. He is still considered "Wanted by the US Marshal's Service" The case was made inactive, but he is still wanted as there is not a statute of limitations on counterfeiting US Federal Reserve Notes.

  • @RealTime88 No, I didn't lose my mom.............. What I was saying, is that HE LEFT HIS MOTHER, too. Not just us. He was an only child, and left HIS Mother (my grandmother). My mother is alive and well.

  • He looks quite like my grandad who enjoys music :P cant be him though

  • i grow up watching this show

  • i feel for the kids, i know i have brothers and sisters out there, my father was a rapist, and much older, so i refuse to believe i'm the only result of it. sucks cuz u know in your heart, so theres something missing.

  • @zzzzdreamzzz a rapist or a rappist?

  • At 3:39 the machine on the right, I have one just like it.

  • Man I used to watch unsolved mysteries and scare the hell out of myself. But I LOVED to watch it lol.

  • 1:14 is very creepy!

  • he got bail with his fake money lol !

  • the 1997 music can't compare to the theme and music from episodes from 1990 and 91...

  • Just wondering if you(vicki0ever found any other family members?

  • @Hardeen31 .....No. The show did not bring any credible leads.

  • I miss this show. The updated version about 2 yrs ago was ok but just repeat storys of the original show. Hardly any new cases plus the new host was not as good as Robert Stack was. Robert Stack had a great way of drawing you into the Story they told. I wish the series was on DVD.

  • @Astraldragon1 it is on dvd, i have the miracles set and the ufo set. theres also bizzare murders, unexplained disapearances and probably more by now since its been a few years that ive had mine

  • a tragic story, and it goes on. so thak for showing us.

  • Vicki, Your dad today will be 83 y.o. We just hope that there are news of your dad!

  • I'm so SOOORY! Glad that he got got!

  • What happened to his British accent by time he met wife number 2?

  • It was a fake accent he used while dating his first wife.

  • @awellwisher Bad acting happened

  • @cobra0081000 - the British accent was used with his first wife during their courtship. Mel was born and raised in California.

  • @evickiwilson Ahh okay. I thought maybe the actor forgot to put it on

  • "... or contact your local law enforcement agency..."

  • lol

  • I like stories about people like that guy the way I see it is he was a smooth! criminal!

  • @keithdcobbin1 When you put kids in the mix, a smooth criminal becomes a psychopath.

  • I don't think it was about his kids it was all about money and living the fast life dig! it!

  • Exactly.

If you don't want to take care of them don't bring them to the world.

Do you know what it does to a person when a parent walks out?

Why would you do that just to lead the fast life?

What is smooth about destroying the people you love?

  • hey thanks for uploading this. I love unsolved mysteries videos, and I wish I could buy all the episodes on DVD.

  • Sweet right on :)

  • Nice there are 3 or 4 UM groups that I saw. I joined the largest with about 3,000 members :)

  • I joined too. :)

  • I just joined a Unsolved Mysteries group on facebook, I'll share the link over there :)

  • I am also on Facebook. I will look for the group.

  • haha right on

    new hero in mi book

  • No. The show did not turn up any leads to his whereabouts.

  • oops sry forgot about that

  • how ironic is it that the guy who uploaded this vid has wilson in his name....

  • Not ironic at all. Since the "guy" that posted this is one of the daughters, or otherwise me!

  • really? thats cool, so your one of the sisters?

  • did they ever find him ?

  • No. The show did not bring any leads,

  • @evickiwilson Your dad would be in his 80s today. he might be dead or alive or maybe used another alias. .

  • what a player

  • That would so suck "oh yay I found money" "aww nuts its fake"

  • Yeah, that's a bummer

  • @mischief13 I would be pissed too! lol!

  • @mischief13

If only it was real money what would you do?

  • @adape0884frank I'd want to keep it and give some to charity but I'd probably end up reporting it. lol =-\

  • Used to love checkin this trying to learn english when spending time in Boston. Quality TV that you dont see this days unfortunately

  • Looks like D.B. Cooper.

  • @ruantengyi cant be to bad.. your watching it here...

  • No, it has been shown on TV right here in Australia.

  • this show iz scary lol

  • Wow, i thought that the guy looked like my music teacher in elementary! Then the narrator said he loved singing and music... Creeped me out!

  • hahaha wow that's scary xD

  • it gave me chills too. Robert Stack wuz mysterious. Like a talkin corspe

  • yep thats what made the show unique

  • i bet you are a talking corspe there michael jackson 78

  • Notice how at 7:04, the cop gets ready to draw his gun & then at 7:06, or, whatever, he gets ready to draw it, agin?.; Lol.

  • WOW i missed that lol you should try finding mim ahhaa

  • Robert Stack was an unsolved mystery. This show gave me the chills though.

  • so don't watch it, go watch some Britney spears or Lady Gaga, that won't scare you

  • Dejenme ver si entendi, imprimio 2mil millones de dolares en billetes falsos los echo al rio y desaparecio y ahora sus hijas nos e cuantos años despues lo andan buscando? je

  • "...wasnt a person that could be taken at face value..."

    LMAO...freakin brilliant

  • How did the Feds catch him, in the first place?

  • They eventually caught him?

  • (**Response to thekingof8.**.).

When the Feds picked up his trail & started investigating as he started spending the fakes & so-on in the 1960's, or, whatever & also, in 1953.

(**Look around 6:26 & watch, from there.**.).

  • "Wilson graduated from forgery to counterfeiting.".: :) .

  • Mel Wilson's son looks like the actor who plays Spence in the show King of Queens.

  • I used to play cards with this guy. He was very smart. Though I could see through his lies. He enjoyed a good cigar with a glass of warm gin.

  • I pray for you to find peace in Jesus. He is the finisher. He said the revenge was His. So I pray Thou will be done.

My son was murdered too in 1994,unsolved for 15 yrs. now.I hope they both get solved very soon.

    Ava Marilyn

  • Ava,

I am sorry to hear about your son. I hope you have found peace.

  • for TONS more of these rare older UM episodes check out channel

    UMCANTSTOPME

  • he kind of looks like D.B. Cooper in the black and white photo ?

  • I thought the same thing.

The hi-jacking took place 6 months after he disappeared. He was in his mid 40's and 6' tall.

  • great minds think alike I wonder way they never thought they may have been a connection its possible

  • i wanna see some murder mysteries

  • I'm sorry.

  • Most lost loves aren't the best but this is very good

  • Robert Stack rules

  • wait what ?

  • lol @ "wife number one"

  • Wow, you are very pretty!

  • VERY true! My thoughts exactly!

  • I'm really sorry for your family

  • Sorry for what you have gone through. You all have gorgeous eyes though!

  • I remember seeing this on tv!

  • is this ur mom

  • My Mother did not appear in the show. My older Sisters' mother appeared.

  • its a shame, Every time someone posts alot of these rare older UM episodes, the YT Nazis shut down their account

a few months back a girl on here named Jessica had about 50 of these older episodes on here and YT closed her account

any idea where we can watch these ? YT keeps shutting down accounts when anyone attempts to Upload them

  • can you tell me more about it?

  • this is a great show! do you have anymore episodes?

  • no....this is the only episode. This show is specific to my family.

  • is this about your dad? i hope you find whatever solution you search!

  • It is our father. We don't seek him anymore. We are glad we found the sisters that we did not know about.

  • The video was posted as a result of the rising of social networking, such as Facebook. I had many reconnections that asked about the show. BTW.....I was never looking for him...the US Marshals were and we didn't turn down the offer for the show.

  • Wow; that's one hell of a inheritance. Normally didn't get into the LL segments back when UM re-ran , but your case always stuck out in my mind.

Were you all ever able to compile any type of biography on him? Was he really from the UK?

  • I feel sorry that your dad is a criminal. He had to find something to do in his life and he probably chose the easiest way. Who knows? maybe he is alive or dead. maybe Interpol can help track him down if he is not living in the US.

  • Love this show great video.

  • i love unsolved mysteries, thanks for posting this.

  • hey this vid is about me!

  • huh
