@Tyrfingr Okay, that's funny. The safety razor is almost too dangerous for me! I'd look like Frankenstein younger brother after just one shave with a straight razor.
@zubertish With a saftey ?, i see why you would be put off by the idea of a straight i guess. I never used a saftey myself so i don't know how they are. I jumped right from the Mach to the straight and cut myself only once in 3 years so far and it wasen't even badly. I guess i make it out as being easy as a result. Although usually, people do cut themselves because the blades are dull more than for any other reason to my experience. It's worth practicing with at any rate for the reward.
@Tyrfingr I was really joking :-D I do like the Mach and use it. Your idea is no doubt a good suggestion and it does reduce landfill drastically so extra points for that. I guess I have become a lazy consumer and I also imagined many a cut from a straight.
For the mirror fogging, what works beautifully for me is to wet my finger, pass it on a bar of soap a few times, spread the soap on the mirror and rinse it. It won't fog for as long as you're in the shower and maybe for another day.
As there are many different skin types, I cannot make a general claim of one razor over another. I use the Gillette Mach 3 regular, not Turbo. I have used that since they came out with it. As to more than 3 blades or gimmicks live vibration-pulsing-LED lights, can't see the science in it.

Nice tip!
You can also switch to an old classic safetyrazor. The blades are much cheaper en they will give you a better shave then a gillette cartridge razor!

Or you can get yourself a straight razor that will last you a lifetime, and save yourself a ton of dough.

a gallon of razors? Anybody know what that would cost? Even for just flat single edge blades it would be over a 100.?

@juananz007 Thanks for that soap tip! I tried it and it works well. Just means more trips to the store each year for soap but it really does work.

I tried that. Worked okay but a new razor worked better. Maybe I don't have the right razor for that trick? Wrong jeans?
