Um obviously Montreal doesn't get too many thunderstorms or they would know that this is just a massive supercell thunderstorm. They are very common in the States, especially in the Midwest. There is nothing to panic about with this video. The thunder and lightning SHOULD give it away to a reasonable person.

I live right here in Montreal. I can set this all aside for everyone. We just have some really bad ass weather out here. There really is nothing more too it then that. Come to Montreal, set a cam up for a few months and your bound to catch somthing neet. I live in Michigan ... I saw this and thought a storm was coming. So I looked up the radar and there were no storms or even cloud cover in that direction. I dont know what it was. I really thought it was a storm or heat lightning.... but like I said radar showed nothing.

Looks like a cool video of a supercell. Very hot surface temps create a lot of condensation at the center of a low pressure zone. Same reason why hot days tend to be followed by thunderstorms in the evening. If that's not CGI, it's definitely an awesome supercell.
