  • I am 100% with you folks saying the "cross over" (no pun intended) music that has become Gospel music is wrong. But the irony is there is nothing in these lyrics blatantly Christian either. :0) We only know it's a "Christian" song because we know the Keith Green background. By the way, the song I'm looking for is "Put Jesus First in Your Life" from the 70s. If you find that one that is a full on, no holds barred, I love Jesus zgospel song! :0)

  • Wow! What a treat to hear Phil sing this!

  • stromtrooper32 Your correct, but did not Jesus say in the last days it would be this way!

  • @whitedress01 f

You're absolutely right, and these are the last days. The Lord is moving in a mighty way in people... I've seen it personally. I am so thankful what He is doing in my life. I've finally learned what it means to FOLLOW Jesus, not just believe in Him.

May God bless all of you... I love you in Christ.

  • stromtrooper32 Your correct, but did not jesus say in the last days it would be this way!

  • This is from back when it was JESUS music, not "alternative positive message family friendly" emptiness. I'm thankful to have grown up with this music when it was ministry oriented, before it became a marketing scheme.

Phil is still the real deal, and has always been a real person as well as an outstanding artist.

  • @stromtrooper32 ...I too am grateful to the Lord Jesus Christ for reaching me in such a profound way thru Phil Keagy's version...c1975, I was blessed to be able to KNOW the Lord in a personal way

--I LOVE YOU, Thank YOU, Lord JESUS, for dying for my sins and resurrecting to LIFE...!!!!!

  • @kkkkkkatherine

    Me too, K. Me too.

  • @stromtrooper32 AMEN, brother. When I first got saved in 1995, I hooked into this music thinking that this was what all Christian music must be. How wrong I was. Most Modern CCM is basically positive, like you say, family friendly background music. I've now turned my own kids onto that clear, bold message contain in the Jesus music of the 70's and early 80's.

  • @thoughtfuldave

The message of the cross is foolish to those that are perishing, but to us who are saved it is the power of God. We don't need to hype it; we don't need to round the edges. We need to preach Christ alone in boldness, Love, and truth. I'm glad you're walking in the Spirit, brother.

  • @stromtrooper32 You're so right... I've been trying to put that into words for a long time. It seems like there's nothing really like that out there now. Nothing can compare to the early Keaggy or Green albums!

  • @bjewell2

I know what you mean. I think God used it for a time, but it's empty now... really empty.

  • The song is written by Keith Green, Phil Keaggy, and Randy Stonehill, I believe.

  • Todd Fishkind was the other writer on the song. I think Phil Keaggy played the guitar part on Keith Green's album version. Keaggy was the first to record it on his own album.

  • @masterandthemusician I know Todd Fishkind, and he was the original writer of the entire song. He knew Keith and Phil who rearranged the lyrics along with Randy. The music was left alone cause everyone liked it. This is the true story behind Love Broke Thru.

  • @newpretear that is correct!

  • Thought Keith Green wroth this amazing song.

Love Phil Keaggy too. Heard parts of his concert tonight in Texas . Bless all.

  • I believe Phil wrote it with a couple of other writers. I always liked it.

  • Phil is a great musician. Did Keith Green write this song originally??? Both great musicians.

  • See NWO Solution

  • I just love this man. What a man.!!

  • @10472112LEE If you love Keith Green, I HOPE you LOVE his God: Jesus Christ !!!

    .

There is only one way to receive eternal life and one name to believe in to receive salvation.

"the name of Jesus Christ . . . Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:10-12

    `

Pray you have accepted God's Free Gift of Salvation! love, k

  • I saw him in concert in the 70's here in Erie, P.A and he is still as good as ever (if not better!)

  • Phil, you're like a good wine brother. You just keep getting better!!! God's annointing is ever present in your life. Jesus bless you! Fireman Jim

  • To those in End of Days...

    3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

4 For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you

    Deuteronomy 20 kjv

  • i too second this as being a treat.

  • very nice!

  • Wow, this brings back memories - heard Phil do this in '76. Yep! Keaggy's just unbeatable on guitar; and people forget too, HE CAN SING.

  • pretty tone, huh?

  • i gotta wonder... have you found a decent vid of crystal throne?

  • wow what a song love that intro on guitar.

  • this probably is the first time all year that i almost cried. I love Phil and Keith so much. I cant wait to ask him so many questions when I see him in heaven.

  • Thank you for posting this. What I appreciated about this tour is the beautiful display of instruments on the stage. What a class act!

  • JUST AMAZING!!!

  • being a fan of keith green and phil keaggy, this song is always a treat.
