a lot of people are not ashamed to dance in night clubs or disco's but when it comes to dancing before the Lord, they are ashamed. i love this song. it speaks accurately of what david said to michal when michal felt embarrassed. if david, the king of israel danced for the Lord before the public not wearing his kingly robe, who are we to feel ashamed. the song's objective is not for us to feel foolish or undignified but it is to encourage us to prove to the Lord the we are not ashamed of Him.

i recently went on a jamaica mission trip with my church. we had a group of 12. the way they worship in jamaica really opened my eyes, because they really PRAISE Him! in america people are "too cool" and will be embarrassed if they dance around or even pray in public. but in jamaica when they pray is the biggest difference; they worship Him more and don't even ask for anything. i wish america's prayer could be like that

I babysit nearly every Saturday...and this little girl is 7. She always wants to sing Ben (our worship director). One day, when we weren't singing Ben, I was reading my Bible, and she asked me, will you read that to me? So, I started reading it to her, and she listened. Im pretty sure this song is drawn from a part in the Bible when the Israelites recapture the Ark from the Philistines and they have a huge parade. King David is overcome with joy and starts dancing like a fool in his underwear in front of the parade. Afterwards his wife is embarrassed and asks him why he made such a fool of himself, and he says "For Him I shall become even more undignified than this!" Thats awesome, its all for Him!
