its a story about love

I agree. For me it was also a story about hope. Pretty much the same things happend to me (I'm a guy). The scenes might come as quirky and very visual but the emotions stays very realistic. I really loved the ending... Life is too precious to be left to fate...

Because people give them all the time for things that don't deserve them and they're really not that special anymore. As a director I think it would be foolish to let that kind of praise go to your head before the film hits theatres - it'd be like Kobe saying "I know we're gonna win this game cause I hit this AMAZING jump shot in practice". Lots of film hopefuls go to these things too so it would be hard to know who's actually loving it and who's jiving you for the sake of "networking"...

That is marketing for you. They have to categorize it for the largest demographic possible which would be the dating crowd. I was skeptical about watching it because I don't usually see these if I can avoid them and thinking it was just another typical go around, but this is a male-oriented relationship movie told from the male POV. It has cliches but it satirizes them brilliantly rather than endorses them.  In short a coming of age comedy. She's Having A Baby meets Annie Hall.
