@saltycreefer Ha ha ha, ok, I thought too in a humoristic way, while the documentary started to proposed the beginning of the "alternative system" told us that we have to offer humans the basics they need for their lives, air, water, food, a shelter to live and basic things for their needs, their hobbies etc. What now if people start to say "I miss a Cucci cologne", "I just want an Aramis after shave not pure alchool for me to shave", "I just missed a Madonna concert" he he he, so things can
@saltycreefer come back again to what they were before. :) Unless someone has to say to us, expensive colognes are not environment friendly, and if we start the star system in music we just bring back the monetary, sorry guys we can demolish the just new ecological order. :) Just forget about the concert. :) Aaa...and while we humans computed that Earth's resources permitt us to have 1-2 children each, and what if you say, no I'd like to have 5-10 children, the new ecological order has to stop y
@saltycreefer stop you from having 5-10 children simply because the planet can not afford such an overpopulation. It's not easy to conclude things, but even today I see that the state can "punish" you by taxing you if you decide to have 2 cars i.e. or you want a luxury house. But let us watch the rest of the documentary. :)
Beyond that what happens to the psyche under the money system has been a subject of many years study for me. And clearly, if there's ever going to be a return to the Sacred, the overriding impulse that money creates in humans has to be be ended somehow. It's when that happens that the destruction ends and true compassion arises. May this soon be so!
@ancestralblue On next years we may have a turn to the curve. I.T field will announce the IPv6, so there will be a need for a tremendous upgrade to the machinery. This is the "upgrade circle" the documentary speaks about. We would maybe have demand for emploees, jobs to set up the new protocols and this new internet running. I hope that this would be a breath, if the semiconductor industry would did it too for an other big step, the present system can survive an other circle. What do you say?
I say that with regard to certain dynamics I can only demonstrate my ignorance of them. I'm not exactly computer literate. I'm a real point and click kinda' gal. What I do know is that the world is undergoing a radical shift. A result of the high speed internet and the transfer of jobs etc. overseas right now. But...and this is probably pretty big, along with that transfer of jobs is a growing awareness of an emerging paradigm that will shift us from tech jobs to the more creative work.
More along the lines of artistry, intuitiveness and holistic thinking. At least that's what those who study the paradigm and the switch from purely left brain existence to a more right brained feeling existence. I do believe that the movie Avatar is a new mythology telling us what we can be and once had a connection to. The right brained feeling self and all of it's benefits. But perhaps without an isolated polarity. Strange...I know...but that's how it feels to me.
While I am in complete agreement about the money system's effects on the population and the need for an entirely different way of relating to each other beyond the greed inducing aspect of money, the replacement of critical thinking skills by computers certainly has it's downside. The ability to think and asess is kind of like anything else that can atrophy. Let someone else make your decisons and you lose the ability to think critically.
There's danger there and the loss of certain skills.
I think what was meant is to let computers/automation act as an extension of human capability (like it is supposed to be). I don't see a "monetary system" as a negative force, but rather today's "fractional reserve system" that is the real negative influence. If new "monetary system" could be created that would create abundance instead of scarcity wouldn't you rather live in that system? We just need a creative thinker to create a new "monetary system" for us.
As I hear this process is already under way, although there is huge resistance from the old, established, but, failing system. I wonder though, who exactly is the power behind it that they go unchallenged? The current "big Money" power brokers have been well known to kill whoever stands in their way. What makes this particular group impervious?
I believe that what is behind this can be found in Sir Francis Bacon's "The New Atlantis." The who is answered by the name The Venus Project. There is one group who holds Venus in very high regard. Their name is the Masons. I don't hold that the Masons are evil. I've read much by Manly Hall to know that there is certainly Divinity in their principles. I do know that in the 1700's there was a split in their British faction. A dark infiltrator. Question is which group is behind this.
@Elzon1 Consider the Linux alternative to Windows. It could open new job positions (educational to learn the new OS, development, programmers, goverment, technicians, research). A new philosophy.
@ancestralblue Be sure that the documentary is wrong on this case. I'm specialised as a network engineer. People can not loose their jobs because of computers, robots, or automation. The opposite plays. I.T field needs many emploees to work on it. Also any automation system, computers can not live without evolution, sheduled service, and the humans to be behind. If you ask why companies such Microsoft, Nvidia and others fired a lot of people, there are different reasons they did so. I'm sure.
I just want to be free
