Sheet mulching with cardboard can also inrease water and energy use too. Google a page called:

It explains the variables. There are two environmental sides of the matter to consider for no-till using cardboard or paper.
Pizza boxes are often non-recycleable, so there we may be looking at pizza gardening rather than lasagna gardening.
