i wouldnt say theyve gone down the commercial route, as a band, you have to put out your harder tunes first to get a reputation, then on albums after you can experiment more and it will get accepted by the fans. if you put your first album out with loads of soft tunes, thats what you will become known for and there would be no room to move from there.

It is hard to judge a band currently in the middle of their short career. KOL has been able to achieve success without major radio play or a popular music video.(Name a band who has done this) They have come FAR in their music playing ability and song writing skills.
