This nothing but a SSB transmission picked up by your SSB uncapable reciever. I used to think the same thing untill i upgraded my reciever with a BFO.
That sounds like Ham radio operators transmitting in single side band (SSB). It will sound muffled like that when you are receiving it in AM mode. You need a special radio with a BFO to hear it clearly.
Maybe harmonics, such when the true frequency is 2X the frequency you are listening. I have the same stuff on a 2$ shortwave radio, I can hear ham operators around 6000kHz and in fact there is hams who are around 7000kHz.
These are HAM radio operators, talking in SSB.

This is SSB. Find out what your radio's IF frequency is for AM and build a one transistor generator. Tune it closely to it and you will hear them. :)

CW is a mode for morse code. If you were listening to 7300kHz it could be a BC, such as the BBC. You should write when did you heard it.
