  • Callofduty5 tv <<--- Google that they have a comp going to win that.. Plus they have the new (V3) solderless chip that works on all models

  • I'm thinking of getting a Wii, pre-installed this chip (D2CKey) is this chip is capable of reading all copy games out there (talking about Wii games). What could go wrong with it? Thanks. I'm not from US.

  • yep what mhz1000a said lol i came to say that but he beated me and its only 41 bucks if you want the site message me

  • no need to solder now, just use wii-clip. only 5 minute install like Professional!!!!

  • There was a video made by a person who messaged me about it not working. It's not like professionals because:

    a) not soldered

    b) higher fail rate (proper install has a fail rate of the chips)

    c) a little less than installation, but no support or help from a live person

  • hey what type of wires and what type of soldering iron did you use?

  • Lol did you install it on ya bed

  • No, my desk is to the right of the bed, out of view of the camera. It just happens that the TV was infront of the bed, so that would be a good place to test instead of the floor without any room.

  • this reminds me of the time MOUNT FUJII!!!! omfg

  • hehe, i dont concider me a pro, but all my cables are neat and good aligned, and it doesnt take more than 10 mins to make it look nice.

  • ur wii looks weird

  • Looks like a pretty messy install, not good, no offence..

  • Compared to the pros who have exact wire lengths and do many of these a day? Of course.

It's over 30 wires on a SMT device, so of course it's not going to be pretty. Making it pretty is often a time-waster too, and time = money/cost. Regardless, doing one yourself is an impressive feat because it is a job for professionals.

  • What kind of soldering iron did you use to get yours soldered???????? plz reply

  • wut do mod chips do anyways( other than burnt games)

  • the wii can play dvd movies?

  • 100 bucks? LOL ripoff...

I know people do it for 20-40...

  • "This costs $100 installed"

That means it's $100 for the chip, and the install, not that bad.

  • i bought the chip for 30 bucks... and i installed it for my friend for like 40

  • oh my garnet! he dissected his wii!

  • so i going to buy US brawl but my wii is from europe, with d2ckey it gonna work in my wii?? plz reply

  • Just get a freeloader

  • how can i play in port games on wii and copy games pls tell me.

  • do you need special disc's ?

  • no normal dvds

  • if my wii has the d2c chip can i play imports with no problem??i have a us wii.

  • read what I told edgarecal.

  • yes u can

  • It also helps to use flux paste and tin your 30gauge wire first and use the heat from the tip to pull solder to the joint. But practice first on a junk cdrom to get the feel first so you don't destroy your wii drive.

  • where did u get the wiikey??

  • How about you search for yourself. Hell, a trusty google search of 'buy wiikey' came up with about 58,000 results. Now insted of being a dumbass and relying on everyone else, and sounding like and idiot, why don't don't you SEARCH and find one of the hundreds of places where wiikey's are sold. Idiot.

  • Haha! Cu-dos. Thumbs up for that burn.

  • he said were did he get his not were can he buy one....you fool

  • buy it on internet

  • ok dudes dontb get mad with me i just say where did the dude get their wiikey idiot xcreepdesings son of a bitch loooool and fuck u!!!

  • how do you know if your wii is D2C or D2B? any help is great thx

  • modchipcentral 17.95 + 9.95 ship,is it the one? is d2ckey same as wiikey? sorry for my ignorance thanks for all the help

  • Wiikey and D2Ckey are NOT the same. D2CKey mod chips are ONLY for D2C chips. If you bought it only a month ago, it is your best bet that you do have a D2C chip. I chipped mine and it works fine but it took me about 20 hours to do it. If you are new to modding, either get a pro to install it or practice soldering for many hours before you even attempt to install a D2Ckey.

  • 20 hours!!!! dudeeee u gotta practice those soldering skills...

  • You obviously think I mod for a living. I don't. I just modded my own Wii and that's it. First time modding and succeeded. So I don't think taking 20 hours is so bad.

  • I am installing a D2Ckey for a friend. I have only a little bit of experience with soldering but I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. The thing is, I just opened the wii and realized how friggin tiny the legs of that chip are! they are like half a millimeter!!! Looks like a very hard job... I am wondering if you can give me a tip on what I should practice on before attempting this?

  • Hey m8. Make sure you have a VERY small tip soldering iron, some good quality resin core solder and a steady heand. I also reconmend soldering paste so the solder flows to the joint. Read up about SMD soldering, this should give you a good insight into soldering small things. GL

  • I bought my wii just over a month, how can I know whether I am able to install the chip on it??

  • what type of wires should i get from radio shack???

  • copper

  • get the wire called Kynar wires. They are really thin and flexible and durable and should be used for modding wiis.

  • This looks like a good way to electrocute yourself.

  • well, i guess you know what you do when you open up your Wii and mod the motherboard.. otherwise, GL.

  • for all people asking where to get a d2ckey.

Here is the CHEAPEST spot i could find

    canadamods*ca

    Replace * with .

    D2CKey = 44.99

    Shipping = 8.95

    Total = 53.44

  • I bought one at target for 10 bucks.

  • lol right and i bought a benz at walmart

  • U cannot mod new wii because they cut 3 leads from the chip... unless you're an expert solderer (it's very hard to do). And then when that is done you have to be careful that the new upgrades from wii do not interfere. Once you mod, you're in dangerous waters.

  • This chip is for the new ones (D2C), older ones are much easier to mod.

  • can all wiis be chipped or is only the old ones,

  • were did u got the d2ckey at

  • so does the D2CKey work with the origanl wii consoles and with the wii consoles that are out now? does it allow you to play burnt copies of wii games?

  • its for the newer models

  • I would wait for infectus's new chip.

    Its way better than D2Ckey

  • Where u buy this d2ckey?

  • I am planning to get a d2ckey as well and i was wondering if you had any websites you would recommend that sell ligit mod chips?

  • yeah i deffinitely need a d2ckey and maybe get the new flexpcb, now i just need alot of patience and time.a nice vid tutorial would be a biiiigggg plus

  • Where can i message you privately if i want to get this done?

  • I wanna mod my wii :P

  • Message me.

  • I'm about to do this mod, and I have some 30 gauge wire and a 15 watt iron. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Lets just pray my hand is stable enough. I'm thinking of placing a toothpick in between the legs I'm soldering, that way if too much accidentally gets on, I can just lift the toothpick up, and resolder it.

  • Can you solder SMD without any problem at all? You should know that this is much more difficult than simple soldering. The risk for screwing something up beyond repair is very high.

  • how can i tell which model is mine if its d2b or d2c please tell me where and how ?

  • Google search "wii serial tracker" find the serial # on your wii or box and put in there. It will tell you.

  • toothpick does not work, needle doesnt even work too fat! I can't mod this sadly...untill they come out with a smaller solder iron or a solution to seperate the legs....i think my buddy uses thermal paste? no solder required gonna try that

  • i know a guy who installs a d2ckey within 9 minutes. (only the soldering part without disassembling the wii) that is amazing he says that is the record at the moment.

He is going to upload a video of the whole installation i think it would be interesting to see

  • Even I want to see this 9 min. install. It would be almost impossible. He cuts, strips, tins, and solders to all 31 legs in 9 minutes? That would mean he does one wire per 17 seconds (approximately; +/- one second). Seems almost impossible...

  • i havent seen him doing this yet so i dont know how he is able to do it. i am still waiting for the video, too

  • what points did you use mate? neosic or original

    What was the install time?

good job on a relativley hard install.

  • Hybrid of both.

About an hour or so, didn't really keep track of time.

I did this using a Radioshack 15 watt iron, lol.

  • me 1e comment nice job m8
