If you knew shit about F1 you would know it is driven by money from sponsers. This in turn is driven by the public's perception of a brand. SO it is very rare to find them using a ESTATE car for a pace car. They use the 'sports' cars which they wish to promote. You don't know shit about F1.

@bborud That's never a good bit of driving. The marshal on the corner was showing a green flag to show AFTER that area, the track is clear, the previous Marshal would be waving a yellow flag that means slow down, caution. Clearly that's not what happened. God driving heading for the gap maybe, but caused by driving like a plum in the first place!

@strongarmsbrah Yeah your right, but that wouldnt happen nowadays as the cars have safety car limiters fitted. Back then they didnt have the limiters because lapped cars were allowed to unlap themselves, fly around and join the back of the pack, they changed the regs since then though.

Looks like the driver at least had quick enough reactions to aim for the space between the medical car and the wall, rather than just plow on. He probably would have fit through if the car door did not open. Still, its not a good racing tactic.
