I think I have watched this 20 times today. Badalamenti and Lynch have often presented dreamy aural landscapes but this recording is like a dream within a dream - familiar but impossible to pin down
I'm totally captivated by Chrysta. Comparisons could be made - My first thought was a P.J. Harvey or a Diamanda Galas going through the David Lynch machine but Chrysta is her own talent to watch - it took me about 5 seconds to buy her CD and I am not regretting it
A definite Lynchian dream come true. Julee Cruise possesses the soul of Mulholland Drive's Laura Harring channeling Rita Hayworth dressed as Betty Page. Almost too good to be real, but here it is in the beautiful flesh come to life. Oh, and the song is a blusey, tortured, modernist slice of pure perfection.
