  • super jeff

  • I've never heard a player with the control that Jeff has. He's just incredible. He's able to do things with that Strat that I've just not heard any other guitarist do and his note selection is just outstanding. I've liked this piece right from when I first got Guitar Shop.

  • It's like he plays a different instrument. That's how unique he is. Anyway... Clapton, Beck, Page... three guitarists from one band. Three ultimate legends. The same roots, yet completely different styles. When I think of it, it always makes me wonder. It's a miracle.

  • I'm so happy now..

  • There are some compositions that are a perfect blend of technique and melody...this is one of those.

  • But they all look to be jews.

  • To all those people who say "How can you not like Jeff Beck?" I say ,easy! He can play great guitar but his songs suck donkey balls. They are a cure for insomnia.I got sucked in to buying his Greatest Hits (really?),Blow by Blow and Guitarshop cds.I want my cash back.Sure he can get weird sounds.Big deal. The reason he never got famous is because he can't write a decent tune to save his life.Any of the Shrapnel shredders blow him away with songwriting ability, and that isn't saying much.

  • @laiosto This isn't just weird sounds is it !

    I'ts expression & phrasing.

The guys that spit out 20 notes a second are two a penny & most lack any feel & phrasing etc.

There's a tens of thousand of shredders but only one Jeff Beck.

  • @pobinr Like I said before, his technical ability is not in doubt,he just plays boring and forgetable music.First time I heard Hendrix,Blackmore,Clapton,Malmsteen et al,my jaw dropped and I wanted to lock myself into my room, and not come out until I was 1/10th the player they were. With Beck,I just yawned and thought what the hell was all the fuss about?

  • This tune is beautiful and memorable. If you dont like it dont listen to it.I suggest you do something useful with your time instead of criticizing artists that you dont like.jeff has a gift for harmony and Melody. If you dont see it It's your lost

  • @shirelmeirov Calm the fuck down ,and take your tongue out of Jeff's arse.Is it my "lost",is it? The sign of an uncritical fan is his jumping down the throat of anyone who doesn't agree with them.Just in case you misinterpreted my comments, once again for the dummies,Jeff is a great guitarist,he just happens to play boring, crappy music.I like a lot of virtuoso music, but can see that a lot of it is also crap.I'm selective.I listen to lots, but discard what does not tickle my fancy.

  • I am very critical listener and by any means not a jeff groupie.I also can see that you are one of those assholes that verbally assault in order to get their point.I study musicology and i can tell you that in terms of harmony this tune is high quality. you may not like it but it's just your opinion

  • @laiosto Jeff Beck is famous.

  • @ekpil And?

  • @laiosto Read your own quote;"the reason he never got famous..."

  • @ekpil Maybe I should have written "Famous to people other than guitarists".The general public know Clapton,Hendrix,Page,Van Halen et al, are.Few other than guitarists and aging hippies and people who bought "Hi Ho Silver Lining" know who Jeff Beck is.

  • @laiosto Ah crap; I'm an aging hippie :P

  • Hendrix was a very humble person. This song is off the chain. Hendrix was also ask what it felt like to be the greatest guitarist and he said "I don't know, you need to ask Rory Gallagher" GOD must love great musicians. Maybe that's why they say the angels sing so well. He take's them so young. Imagine Janis Joplin and Hendrix in concert. Oh well, I'm rambln. Oh Yea, Duane is up there too.

  • Do people just dislike videos to be different. I fail to see how anyone can dislike this unless they were drunk and pressed the dislike button by accident. This man is a god among men

  • the things this man can do with a guitar. i would say makes him almost as creative as hendrix.

  • @MidAtlanticOfficials

Who do you think "inspired" Hendrix?

    Accept no imitation :P

  • @xJustynLx ??? even if he did, i think hendrix took it to a different level <3 but thats just my opinion.

  • @MidAtlanticOfficials When Hendrix first came to the UK, he told chas chandler the first thing he wanted to do was to see Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck

  • only 345 likes im sure i hit the button more than that

  • Whenever People Say "Who's Jeff Beck?" I walk Away!

  • all i can say is wow and i thought i was good haha his guitar sounds like its actually singing! proof you dont need to play 1000 mph to be considerd a guitar player! this is tops!

  • Grand Master Beck!

  • Le jour de mon enterrement je voudrais qu'on me joue cette chanson !!!

  • Clapton is great..and so is Vai, but...Beck is beck..nuff said..

  • A true master and song stylist.

  • man, he is soo fuckin win that you can see at 1:50 that he can move the tremolo and still turn the volume up and down doing that ninja technique, YEAH RESUMING, HE'S THE BOSS! (=

  • @MYNAMEISIKN You might like to know that it's a vibrato. Vibrato is pitch- tremolo is volume.

This, along with many JB performances, can be best appreciated by not watching the video. It's easier to really listen without distraction. It's just like the rest of that particular gig: just fantastic musicianship and execution.

    They were absolutely on fire.

Vinnie is so spot-on and feels the dynamic of the song so well.

  • needs just a little bit more of reberb/echo

  • Whenever people go "who's Jeff Beck? Never heard of him..." I point them in this direction.

    Jaws quickly drop. Without fail.

  • Since yesterday I have discovered this and other Beck's performances and can't stop listening to his music. I am professional classical pianist, but this is revelation to me. Everything he does on guitar is amazing. A true musical genius.

  • Hearing him play live is like an out of body experience, it's so beautiful! I've been lucky to get to see him twice so far

  • @guitar5289 wow gay!

  • eso si se llama usar el tremolo bar.. que bien Jeff beck

  • Siren song...

  • is that mr creosote in the audience?

  • Ya'll need to remember. Beck, Clapton and Page came from the same roots; they all played in the Yard Birds (at different times, of course!). I look at it like this: Page is physical; Clapton is cerebral; and Beck is spiritual. All are great in their own ways, but by-god, Beck is just plain awesome. He's been an incredible innovator and has stayed true to his heart; it's hard to say that about a lot of other musicians. (Except for Neil Young, of course!)

  • @ecuachet Clapton and cerebral? I dunno man. But I agree with the rest.

  • hands down the best electric guitarist

  • Pure emotion!!That was evidence that guitar can sing :D

  • @fans7777This is why whammy bars exist and JB is one of the hottest of all the big benders

  • Dear Shredders. Please note... inflexion is more important for musical expression of the emotions than how many notes a second you can play.

  • This song is too damn short. Give me more!!!!

  • Transcendental.

  • I've always loved this track from Jeff Becks Guitar Shop. I first heard it on The Comic Strip Presents - South Atlantic Raiders. What a line up here though, and at Ronnie Scotts too. Perfect.

  • Sounds just like a voice...uncanny...beautiful too, those harmonics and whammy bar control...love it

  • hammerhed!

  • Stunning!! This goes to show that it's not just about how fast you can play or how clever or complicated your music is. Jeff's mastery of the tremelo bar and volume control is incredible, as are the tones he achieves and his expression. All the other musicians are also amazing - must get this blu-ray right now...

  • 1:39

    *shivers*

  • Oh my God. This is beautiful.

  • This is what angels sound like.

  • I'm always impressed, one of the best rainbows to be had, the art i get is always first rate from his work, never fails to astonish, humble thanks from a colourscribe

  • I'm always impressed, one of the best rainbows to be had, the art i get is always first rate from his work, never fails to astonish, humble thanks from a colourscribe

  • beautiful

  • That is the most expressive and technically impressive bit of live guitar playing there has been in pretty much forever, as far as I'm concerned.

  • I'm saying he's the best of the big 3. Page, Clapton & The Maestro.

  • If music like this doesn't make you glade you're alive, I don't think anything will.

  • In Danish the thumbs up button is verbalized into "God" (Danish for good). I have to agree.

  • Jeff Beck doesn't play guitar..He plays music!

  • @41jarse ...I know what you mean and concede the sentiment but Beck is so utterly a guitar player that I'm afraid you're completely wrong.Use of harmonics and bends, glisses and slides, whammy bar, distortion - all totally Beck...all totally guitar

  • @fendermac Not to mention his use of the volume. That's what blows my mind.

  • Brilliant :-)

  • Sempre inspirador,

    Thanks for posting!

  • effin love this

  • makes my heart swell every time

  • this man speak really with a guitar... really .

  • Jeff Beck s such an Inspiration To Me and Plenty of Other GTRist ,

The Sounds he Creates, Tones, Effects and Then Back to Rock Roots Love em

  • Mr. Jeff Beck: The Lone Ranger of Modern Lyricism. The voice of his strings sums up the cry of the human spirit: in beauty, skill, sadness and hope. Just amazing, and awe inspiring!

  • vorrei dedicare questo brano, cosi struggente,a mio padre, mancato poche settimane fa. grazie babbo. maurizio.

  • I know it's been said before but...UNBELIEVABLE. Truly one of today's greatest masters of guitar and expression. Thank God for youtube.

  • clapton , has never brought anything to the table where guitar playing comes into it , he just ripped off a few bb king and albert king licks and used them to death , jeff beck has always been way ahead of clapton even in the yard birds days he had a great sound , and way ahead of the field in original playing

  • I would sell a kidney for that guitar tone ... sadly it's not in the gear but his damn fingers

  • Classic

  • Seeing and listening to Jeff Beck, I can't but to help but wonder what if Jimi had lived. What if Jimi had lived? Thankfully we still have Jeff. If you haven't seen him live then you are denying yourself the essence of life. Stop doing that. See Jeff immediately, before it is too late.

  • The first seventeen or eighteen times I watched this video, I could not make it through 1:38-1:46 without weeping. I love Jeff Beck, there is no other.

  • Woooow... Nobody sayin' Clapton is overrated, or Beck is way better than Clapton????

  • @JusticieroDeLaMuerte Does it really need to be said? ;-)

  • @feedbackbro It's boring listening to the same over and over...

  • @JusticieroDeLaMuerte I wouldn't say Clapton is overrated, but he certainly hasn't gotten better with age as Jeff clearly has.

  • @JusticieroDeLaMuerte I hate comparisons. I like both. If I want to listen to the blues, then I go for Clapton. If I want to listen to more progressive aproach, then I'll go for Beck. That's it.

  • @JusticieroDeLaMuerte I Love Beck, Clapton and Page. They are all so important to music and we have been blessed to share in their talents.

  • @MrHagstromguy Totally agree.

  • @JusticieroDeLaMuerte Nah, you can't say either of them is better than the other.. They're both really great in their own way!

  • @AndreasSku93 Agree. That's why I wrote the comment. I was being sarcastic 'cause I'm tired of reading such things like "Beck is better than Clapton"... Better why? Did he win a race or something? I love both. I think both are great. Each one has his own approach. I don't want Clapton to be like Beck, or viceversa. I like them as they are.

  • @JusticieroDeLaMuerte ha ah right on dude lol

  • @JusticieroDeLaMuerte yes !!!! this guy makes me cry...and i have been a a guitar player for 30 years( feel free to check our original music channel) this guy is above every single guitar player that i know...isnt a matter of opinion..is just the way it is..lol , this guy is way better than clapton!! i said it..lol

  • @bbuteo ...............................

  • masterpiece

  • DO U C THE CROWD ALL R OMG

  • Unbelievable. What an incredibly beautiful sound...

  • This is what makes Jeff Beck so good. His skills as not only a musician, but his unmatched artistry as a guitar player. Fantastic.

  • Is this Jennifer Batten the most left side in from 2:45????

  • @watanuki1207 No, that's Imogen Heap (singer)

  • @feedbackbro Thanks. BTW She's resemble to J.B.Why don't you think so?lol.

  • Tabs plz.

  • That took me breath away, when I saw him live at the dome and he did this, my heart melted.

  • thank you,god bless you!

  • Wonderful! I saw Jeff Beck in 1980 at the old Stanley Theatre in Pittsburgh (THERE and BACK Tour). I still have the ticket stub. One of the few guitarists that can send shivers down the back with his soulful playing.

  • jeff is the most

  • Cosa significa suonare la chitarra con l' anima!!!

  • everybody should have this played at their funeral.it's a great passing over song.

  • barley 2000 views goood more fer me

  • I saw on the Live at Ronnie Scott's DVD that some of Jeff's friends helped him compose this peice by patching together ideas that he had that were not yet integrated into a song. What a fantastic outcome from a somewhat mechanical approach to music making. Outstanding.

I listen to this peice almost every time I visit youtube. Very peaceful. I've had the DVD for about 5 months and still watch it quite frequently. Frankly though, most of the DVD is here on Youtube.

  • Absolutely awesome stuff from Jeff! I was lucky enough to see him live last year, pure brilliance!

  • After "discovering" Jeff Beck in '74-'75 I have only been amazed by this virtuoso of guitar...

  • ...

  • Was Jeff playing the guitar or was the guitar playing him?!? GENIUS!

  • The whammy bar work on this defies belief! Pure genius.

  • barely 2000 views...Whatta freakin shame

  • @ajames7000 don't worry bud...... it was on the telly quite a few times :)

  • @ajames7000 So true, but his playing on this is so emotive! Really Amazing! Have you heard his playing on Roger Waters' "Amused To Death" Album! AWESOME!

  • @ajames7000 28000 more:) still not enough though...

  • @Yourfacecrackah
