I was just hopping through Bombcast moments and found this. I never heard of it before and was intrigued by Jeff's sentiments of "it's almost like the metric system applied to time." I searched around, read a lot, and was going to write a lot here but the 500 char. limit is a bitch. So I'll just say others have done it better (wikipedia. org/wiki/Decimal_time) and the prospect of Global time isn't that enticing as it devalues local solar relevance to anyone outside of the base location.

Seriously... it makes sense... as global communications go on 24/7 we need SOMETHING to standardize time.

The only think they should add is a recognition of individual time zones' "tick-over" into the next day. My tick-over would be @291.beats
