I have always thought that people that have children are INSANE, and still do feel this way. There used to be a biological need to procreate in previous eras, but those times are LONG gone and it is absolutely insane to have children at this stage in history, and the current level of family/societal dysfunction where child neglect and abuse is rampant and the norm. Only people that are fully capable and healed should have kids, but none are so don't do it!!!! its not fair to the kids.
@tenyonisis What you are describing is Covert Aggression or Covert Abuse. It is difficult to identify because is extremely subtle. For example, your mother never directly said you were stupid. Instead by reading your paper in a ridiculing or mocking way, your mother subtley said you were stupid.
Think wolf in sheep's clothing. In fact, that's the title of a book on the subject of Covert Aggression.
Love travels down the family system... an interrupted love flow is when the love has to travel the wrong way (ie, the child meeting the parent's emotional needs instead of the parent meeting the child's emotional needs). Children are so full of love and will take responsibilty for their parents. It is of paramount importance that children can be children, feel unconditionally loved and safe and know that they can freely express emotion without any label or judgement attached to that emotion.
