i love crappie fishing but i dont have a boat. so im just jiggin boat docks on the bank. but i use a diawa reel and a very sensitive fly rod. 8 pound test is a bit heavy but its a murky lake. i use 6 pound alot and do very well with it.
@graffitivideos95 i have a bass boat but bought a kayak to fish out of...ill tell you what kayak fishing is where it is at, no fees , no insurance, no trailer tags, no gasoline, more access to spots, cheap reliable fun . get you one they can be had for less then $500 on craigslist hooked up.
love catching crappie in the same conditions! finding the right dock with a light rod in overcast skys. nothing like it when it comes to crappie fishing.
Another inexpensive route you can take is a fishing tube, a lot of the same benefits of a kayak but even less expensive. Love tube fishing!
