  • I lately found a LP from beginning 60s with this on it. It's one of the best way of singing this song.

Thanks for posting this Vocalion Record.

  • Guys you may not believe me ,but this song was partly translated to Czech and and it was sing as a kind of underground movement anthem. The song adaptation was done by Svata Karasek the Czech great underground figure, evangelic priest and currently MP in Czech parliament. I think that every music which is authentic passes one day its borders . Any way I love gospel songs as I can feel real emotions behind this so beautiful music and lots of love - which takes me up up :-)

  • Is that an HMV portable?

  • amen

  • O, my! Sure reminds me of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Slaton. What a treasure trove you have. Thanks for this one and please keep posting.

  • I love that player. Make and model please.

  • I like this almost as much as my version, except for that chant stuff in the beginning.

The "why" is too long a story but I used to go gospel singing contests in the New York City area. Those cats would blow anybody off a stage.

  • Wow! Absolutely, positively beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

  • I remember that, my aunt had a EP with four tunes of these gospelsingers. Probably Philips. It was late 50 or begin 60 that I heard that EP.

  • Could it have been Brunswick? A couple of EP's on this label were apparently available of this group in the fifties.

    I like this!
