I love her! She used to sing splendidly and this aria is a masterpiece as well...she sang at La Scala and stayed with the MET for about 15 years I guess...

Heavenly voice,what a surprise this (to me)new aria by Moniuszko plus superb orchestra.Zylis-Gara has such a strong voice,such technique,such breathcontrol, Poland can be proud and so can Lithuania(as she was born in 1930 in the 2nd Polish Republic,which is Lithuania today)For those who were not aware of the qualities of Zylis-Gara,this might be the start to go back in her repertoire.

This soprano must be among the world's best of her days.

@woytynowska O most underestimated soprano

with a very lovely an sensitive voice. A splendid tecnique and a great feeling for what she is singing. She sang much Mozart but for me she sounds so good in Verdi, and for example Dvorac´s Rusalca and even in Smetana "the Bartered Bride" Lovely.

recording is on Zylis-Gara cd, don't remember a name, comething about slavian heroines, slavian arias or sth... sheet music is almost impossible to get outside of poland, I have Moniuszko "Soprano arias" and it is included there...

"Paria! On paria! Ach, ciszej, ciszej biedne serce", Neala's aria from polish opera PARIA by Stanisław Moniuszko. Rare aria even in Poland, it's last opera by Moniuszko, and probably most forgotten unfortunately. But so beautiful...
