  • genius,mJ chose Bruce in every project later years even when the main producer disagreed. If you stop to think he is the only one of the Thriller team that he kept

  • I'd kill to have this guy engineer my records. Mr Swedien your ears are 24 karat gold!

  • great - thanks for posting

  • Bruce Swedien fucking rules.

  • The Amazing Bruce Swedien , Michael Jackson's sound engineer

  • I've read that Quincy Jones did not want "Billie Jean" on the Thriller album!! Isn't that crazy?! Furthermore, Quincy wanted to title it, "Not My Lover". In the end, Michael won this battle, thankfully.

  • hero

  • Man, he better hope his house dont get robbed!

  • Fantastic

  • Bruce Swedien is a don!

  • Great and Amazing people!Real artistic souls!

  • Thriller had great songs and MJ the enginering was limited in that imho was straight forward having said that he is a great engineer

  • Ha ha what are you chatting about??!!!

  • there was nothing risky but swedien is a good engineer

  • great bruce !

  • Great video!! Bruce produced, recorded and mixed our album last year in the studio you see in the video. He is nothing short of a genius and a true gentleman to work with. What an honor to call him friend and to have had the chance to work with a true living legend.

  • They should release or compile a special Thriller Edition - The Bruce Swedien Mixes with full mix commentary by Bruce on each track. That would be fascinating, just a box-set or multi-CD or DVD or somethin'!

  • "He is not the kid next door." Great understatement, Bruce!

  • Fascinating video! I can't imagine how much those tape reels must be worth today.

  • Glad to have met Bruce

  • The demo of BJ was done with an LM-1 for the drum track, but the final versions were live drumming. In the later part of BJ you I hear a Linn clap pitched very high in the mix, so I think the drummer followed the original LM-1 drum machine to give it a more organic feel. Just a note on what I think.

  • Live drum played by JeffPocaro(R.I.P.)?.I always wondered which synth they've used for the main bass line for the Thriller.Probably MiniMoog etc.MJ was well known for liking synths and stuff (he liked KraftWerk,YMO etc).Always nice to see these behind the scene tech stuff.Brill.

  • Drums on the song, "Thriller" ---Leon Chancler

The synth bass is from a prophet-5

  • Thanks for the info.I thought RodTemperton programmed those bass lines and also the rythms on LinnDrum.

  • I want to listen to ALL of the original tapes that Bruce got of Thriller!! 90 tapes! man I LOVE to!!!! and the drawings too!!

I saw this one one tv but couldn't find it back, thankfully someone did!

  • Ik heb stukken originele opnames gehoord van Bruce dor de telefoon,...erg gaaf om de ruwe versies te horen.
