This couldn't come at a worse time. Just when the economy is starting to improve then this. It flies in the face of the new clean, green movement to rid our dependence of oil once and for all. What an unnessasary and abhorent disaster. I'm just appalled at the whole thing looks like getting vastly worse before it gets better. This will take decades to fix. It's like the earth is bleeding uncontrollably. I wonder if the Earth itself is giving us all a wakeup call.

@Shaun17170 My friend, there is something going on. This is not s case of coincidence. BP, a foreign company, owns the rig. Transocean, the actual drilling contractor, is based in Switzerland. Deep Horizon, the rig, was situated in international waters off of the Gulf coast of the US? And, the MMS, an agency within the Department of Interior, failed to police the drilling practices and the implementation of safety procedures. MMS officials have already been accused of accepting kickbacks.

Funny how Obama goes to New Orleans because Bush messed up on Katrina...but there is a huge flood in TN, he will not go...There was a case just like this in 1979 off the coast of Mexico that leaked for 8 months in the Gulf of Mexico....EXXON in Alaska was nothing compared to this...that was boat, this is underwater at 5000 feet....
