  • God I hate to sound like a new skool hater but back then brothers and sisters just sounded so much more soulful vocally. For me Soul Music was King. Now days most of the black male singers sound like they're 15 yrs old. And the black female singers sound like R & B versions of Britney Spears. Oh God. Oh Lord. Time to weep. Again.

  • One of the most underrated groups ever. I love Lakeside.

  • This brings back sweet memories of my younger years. Life in Naija then was fun--- numerous concerts at the National theatre featuring Lakeside, Evelyn King, Dynasty, Shalamar and a host of others. Man! LIFE WAS SWEET & WE HAD FUN!

  • @sexydupsy OMG!! I remember this song when I was living in Benin City - I was a kid then watching this on NTA!! LOL!!

  • @sexydupsy those were good times! I went to see them when they came and even got to go backstage to get pictures and autographs because my friend knew someone that worked for Ben Bruce (the promoter). i misplaced all those pictures, sadly.

  • Yep, this is a badddd Jam -- even now. A truly awesome beat.

Wow, I'm so glad I have these albums from groups back in the day when they knew what originality was and what good music was.

This was just one of their many hits. Lakeside - Live!!!

  • Even Lakeside had the sense to know they were Moors!

  • Loe it, grew on their music, so sweeeeet. Now this what you call music.

  • Bad Bad Band... these fellas knew how to groove.

  • Proud and happy to say, Amazing masterful talented musical groups from the "Gem City", Dayton, Ohio! The Ohio Players, Zapp featuring Roger, Heatwave, Slave, Sun, Shirley Murdock, Steve Arrington, Mel'sa Morgan and of course, Lakeside.

  • @stevi1955 The MidWest FUNK for sure.....

  • I meant to write 'compare with the dross'

  • sorry guys, I keep shaking my head and feel so sorry for kids of today simply because of their loss. Can anyone compare this with the cross they listen to today? I know i sound old repeating this...the best period for music was 1980 to 1991. Every generation will relate to the music of their era, but the 80's was simply the best. Thank God for YouTube for preserving stuff like this.

  • Love this band, Lakeside!! These guys were bringing the funk along with other funk-r&b groups like One Way, Parliament, Funkadelic, Dazz Band, Ohio Players, Earth Wind & Fire, Ozone, General Caine, Kool & The Gang, Cameo, SOS Band, Bar-Kays, Brothers Johnson....the list of these funk bands go on & on!! This is the kind of music that today's generation need to hear...not that watered-down 'autotune' robotic B.S.

  • no substitute for good musiq... I just love this..

  • LAKESIDE IS THE TRUTH. Was blessed with the opportunity to see them perform in 1984 Budwieser Superfest in Inglewood Ca. THEY PUT ON A SHOW. Blew my young mind.

  • @cbazz68 :)... 4sho.... i saw them as a kid and it was the TRUTH!!!! the sound guys kept cutting Lakeside mics off, but the end of the show, EVERYONE was on their feet in New Orleans!!!! GREAT SHOW!!!!!

  • @Groovlax74 they have group phat starr in1995

  • Saw them in concert in Mobile Alabama in like 1982 or 1983. It was so off the chain! No one could touch them back in the day. Go lakeside! Nobody does it better!
