  • Warning Language? are you serious....

  • those damn Cubans! if we lower our guard for a second they will unleash their secret fleet of landing craft and invade the US.

  • @napalm113 negro please, the only secret fleet they have are bannaboats!!

Its those damm germans you should be worried about lol

  • Now kindly leave my house Tom Cruise!

You been here for like a week!

  • Al Pacino's speech at the end of "Scent of a Women" is way better...

  • In this scene the character of Col. Nathan R. Jessep, clearly demonstrates the naivety shared by all military people, regardless of flag,

They fail to appreciate that they validate the need for their existence and what they do based upon the deductive fallacy of et cetera, ad infinitum, ad nausam.

To put it simply they just don’t get that they are on their wall because they enemy is on the enemy’s wall and that the enemy is on the enemy’s wall because they are on their wall.

  • @nickmattedwards You need to pickup a gun and get on that wall.

  • @mattrR678

Militarism is the physical manifestation of the externalisation of human ignorance, that internal enemy cannot be defeated on the external battlefield, we are fighting the wrong war.

  • Nicholson is so correct about this..... This is why i respect the men and women in uniform....

  • @jpcraig30 so do I ... women that is...

  • E-Noid - I Don't Give A Damn

  • OH MY GOD! Powerful shit.

  • "Give a damn!" press 8

  • Kingofbavel. You are one naive son of a bitch.

  • lol You can't take the truth. That is what, i tell the christian's. They allway's try to, twist it around. They know not the time's, we are in.

  • Blow me

  • Did that go the way you wanted it to?

  • One of the greatest speeches ever.

  • great scene...now things have changed in the Marine Corp...remember how they kept pushing that recruit during PT? Now if a man is injured etc. they pull him out and send him to medical.

  • Did you order the Kobe Beef?

    Your G-D right I did!!!

  • Although Tom Cruise' character was the hero, and had better morals and character, JACK NICHOLSON is the better actor.

  • you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall, .....

  • "...order..in..the court? :( ...*whimper* "

  • Yep. It is like a christian. They can't take the truth, for they have forgot, or know it not. For they are like lost sheep, and forgot the begining. For the USA is falling.

  • acting at it's absolute best here folks

  • A very intense scene.

  • Whos going to do it?,You Tom Cruise? You would wet your pants if a firecracker went off,Semper FI Marines.

  • @nightfrog205 My senior house in college had an alley right next to it, and my bedroom window was on the third floor. One of my house mates lit of a bunch a m-80's in the alley one night without warning. The way that sound funneled up along the building walls and into my window I thought someone was shooting a semi auto, I hit the deck asap. I literally jumped to the floor, and then started laughing my ass off about 5 seconds later when I realized what it was.

  • America like alot of countries doesn't defend as much as it attacks.

  • Written by the great Aaron Sorkin, who also created the West Wing.

  • People like you don't even understand that when we pulled out of Vietnam, when we did, millions of South Vietnamese and Hmong were rounded up, killed and put in concentration camps. The freedom that you enjoy, when you crowd the streets and chant " Hell no, we won't go," is something that people in many other countries couldn't even fathom. Although War protestors are nice people and have good intentions, their rallies do nothing to help the military.

  • @StonewallJackson26 Look at it from their perspective. The SV were allied with a foreign power who invaded and is trying to overthrow the current establishment. What do you think would happen if China comes the US and set up their pro China government, backed by half the country. China looses and goes home...what do you think the US would do ? I think they would be looked down upon and treated pretty badly. I think the side that one would be pissed off and rightfully so. Just saying.

  • i never do these sort of gay comments but fuck it

27 of Santiago's relatives watched this clip.

  • Here is some common sense for anti military protestors.

  • @StonewallJackson26 I was a war protester, I have never although been "anti military". In fact, being for the mililtary means not sending them into useless wars like the ones we are still engaged. You see, I don't like to see my family and friends die over a lie, and if you still are silly enough to think that Bush told the truth about the Iraqi threat, then you need your head examined. Please don't use "Stonewall" as you code name, he would have been too smart to post what you posted.

  • @StonewallJackson26 If you honestly think that the world we live in can be sustained without intervening world wide then you need your head examined. Do you honestly think the US being in over 150 countries is not a big reason why we haven't seen a major War for the past 4 decades? In your perfect World, War would be non existent. But we don't live in your Utopia. War between humans has been around since ancient Mesopotamia. And 90% of every War we have been engaged in, we didn't start.

  • Its a movie but how did the Colonel get to the fictional trial in a private jet while Private Santiago in the movie was getting aboard a C-130 jet. The Marine Colonel in this movie, planned to have lunch with his sister had he not said what he said and been arrested, what was he going to talk about at that lunch? If you take it further is that about his testimony, his experiences at a classified base or what? U.S, outsources many elements except for intelligence & defense.

  • DAMN good movie!!!

  • He just mesmerized me without even moving his shoulders.

  • I don't care that Jessup is a Colonel. he should be treated just like any other witness, not protected by the judge.

  • @jasonROXcarlySUX I think that had more to do with his rights against self-incrimination than his status as a colonel.

  • @mboomer93 in the movie, smearing a high ranking offer was repeated. plus the judge told him he did not have to answer the question. Anyone else would be directed to answer any question asked of them on the stand. That is the point of being on the witness stand.

  • @jasonROXcarlySUX In the military it's an abso-fucking-lutely black and white rule that you NEVER, EVER smear a soldier of a higher rank than you, so there's the reason for that. As for him not having to answer the question, once again, he has a constitutional right against self-incrimination. Meaning he doesn't have to give an answer if it is SELF-INCRIMINATING. That's what the "right to remain silent" is. The judge was just making sure Jessup knew his rights.

  • just watched this the other day!!! one of the be3st movies ever!!!

  • I like the movie; I disliked this scene. All Jessup had to do is be like, "NOPE." I don't buy the whole "ego" thing made him do it. But I guess that's what had to be done.

  • @tedwilli9 i totally agree! Jessup had the whole thing won. All he had to do was smile at Tom and say "adios" and Tom Cruise goes to the stockade and Jessup goes back to his base and gets a blowjob from a cuban whore. But I guess that wouldnt be PC would it?

  • @tedwilli9 Y? look how Jessep has been acting the entire film. There are people in this world worse than him in the ego department.

  • Great acting.

  • Love "Jack".. Brilliant Clip - Thanks for Posting.

  • Why the need to put up warnings about language? People just need to fucking deal with cursing, there is no harm in it.

  • This scene is so intense man.

  • jack is awesome

  • As good as Tom Cruise is, Jack outshone him completely in this movie, especially in this moment.

  • @PancakesoftheLove I simply agree.

  • @PancakesoftheLove We should thank jack lol.Stay on the wall jack.

  • The witness has rights

  • 27 people cant handle the truth

  • "did you say jack nicholson is the best actor"

    "YOU'RE GODDAMN RIGHT I DID"

  • @tacomonster5 AHAHAHAHAHAAH!

  • @tacomonster5 good shit man... good shit....

  • re the below, I happily presume it the other way.

  • How would you like to be a comedian or fascinating social commentator whose constitutional right to freedom of speech is now being violated by state law

  • How dare they think that raising the term "practical joke" takes away psychiatric suggestions of menace or the sinister nature of the act or makes the act less brutal

  • The bullshit thing about these civilian pigs and their legal eagle cohorts

  • Shame about the pointless text before and after but a good scene

  • Each actor at some point in time and space gets his five minutes of magical performance, in this case in that now-distant 1992, that moment went to Mr Jack Nicholson!

  • one of my favorite scenes in one of my favorite films..... great!

  • Paul Elstak, Code Red >;)

  • Damn, Jack was young...lol

  • Great acting! Jack is the man!

  • You're now aware that this movie is almost 20 years old

  • Comment removed

  • 1:27-1:33 my favorite part....One thing I don't understand from the movie...Why Jessup set up 2 of his best marines to eliminate one Cinderella...If he marines are so inportant....

  • I'll take 1 Jessup over a hundred Santiagos any day.

The man knows what he he's hired to do, the sissy boy isn't.

  • Mustard gives me gas as does taffy

  • They must telly hate mountain dew... hehe

  • Did you order the code red again today, knowing your ass is completely fried by now?

  • As a former marine myself this scene with jack nicholson as col jessup makes me proud to be a marine and even as col jessup was wrong in his decison for the code red that was given ( see full metal jacket for blanket party scene) he was soild as a col in the marine corps, that was a very real and powerful statement made , every marine I know got a hard on for col jessup for taking charge and carrying out the plan of the day .I want the truth You can't handle the truth. Semper Fi motherfuckers.

  • For some strange reason, Jack Nicklaus is sounding like an early American Continental general serving under George Washington

  • Its proven they wree part of the code red of kidnapping and murdfering strategies against authorization and authenticity and legitimacy

  • A man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of freedom that I provide....

    That is awesome script writing.

  • u slimy little bastard!

  • You should have included the WHOLE conversation

  • I like Jack Nicholson a lot, and I sincerely doubt that he sympathises with his character, in fact it’s his understanding of this individual that makes it so potent. Having read some remarks here, it only serves to remind me that we live in world full of simple people with simple outlooks; why do we have those walls and in whose interest is it to have them there? War=arms=money=power....wake up.

  • Damn, Jack's palpable high-voltage makes Cruise look like a firefly flash by comparison. Take away the usual movie props & M:I-style special FX & Cruise is defenseless against an authentic scenery-chewer like Nicholson.

  • @fjohnson747 hes done a lot of good movies without any sfx, this might not of been HIS acting movie but he certainly had his good scenes. Jack Nicholson was the best in this movie though.

  • Liberals always talk about rape and innocence when it comes to war. They seem to have no grasp of the concept of freedom. Men have given their lives in exchange for ours. Their blood is the currency paid for our freedom. They died so we can live...so shut the fuck up and enjoy your freedom you snot nosed little bastards. Say thank you and be on your way.

  • Chuck Norris IS the truth.

  • @nemesis233 - Chuck Norris takes it up the ass, THAT is the truth

  • @evilunixuser1 LOL yeah, by Bruce Lee hahah

  • I think He Needed To Have a Little Talk With Clint Eastwood for a Man Has Limitations!...Brother. Where Art Thou!

  • I feel a lot safer protected by Colonel Jessep than Lt. Kaffee. As a matter of fact, I agree with what Colonel did.

  • @OneRTZero Kaffee reflects the politically correct world that we live in where the pencil pushers know how to fight a war better than the front line troops do. I agree with Jessup's character too. In the words of Navy Cross recipient Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, "you do everything in your power to keep me from having to go to war, but once you realize there is no other option and send me, turn your back and close your eyes because I'm going to get the job done and it'll be ugly"

  • Is it weird that I kinda sympathize with Jack?

  • @mboomer93 I mean not in this specific situation, but in general.

  • @mboomer93 No, I do too. I understand the importance of the words he speaks of. The kid dying was not intentional, even if the measures were harsh. This tradition goes back to the Spartans...........when it was much worse.

  • @richardelden.. Dam!! Lol! He is only acting a role! Y u so pissed???

  • This is a thorough explanation of how the military operates.

"So, what we do things like rape women, kill innocent people, and get young men killed by terrorist for no reason? We are doing it to "protect" you! So shut the fuck up and don't question how we do it!"

    ILLUMINATI

  • I just popped a boner....

  • Wow.. Tom Cruise sucks. LOL Somehow he is still watchable though..I think it's the work ethic and intensity he provides in his roles.

Can't act worth a damn though. LOL

  • politics ditates the right or wrong in every contrey but its up to the mlatery to implament them right or wrong they teach us to understand there disitions but its in everyone intrest to do the best they can in the disions they make this film is a parody of that.politicions have layd the foundations of these laws its the milatary that carry them out. you cant blame this guy for carrying out his orders right ore wrong

  • @PICARDABLE I can blame your school for giving you a diploma.

  • YOU CANT HAVE THE TRUTH!!

  • You WANT me on that wall! You NEED me on that wall!

  • I'm on Jessep's side. He did what he thought would be the most effective, and in the best interest of everyone as a whole. Even though it was just a movie it makes me mad to think that politicians run wars instead of real men. If we fought WW2 like we've fought from Vietnam through today we would have failed something fierce!

  • Tom Cruise's acting, even in the 1990s, was the epitome of powerfully assured confidence and eighties cheese and excess. I am not going to take anything away from him though. He's not my favorite, but he was always a smooth performer.

  • A very memorable scene from a great movie! Thanks for uploading it here!

  • nicholson all the waaaaaaay :)

  • fuck you lt weinberg

  • I Still have nightmares about Jack in this movie. One of the most intense performances ever!

  • i read some place that (Jack Nicholson),he did that all in one take...looking just off from the camera.Even if he didn't it was powerful no less...

  • I think Cruise is an alright actor...and Jack Nicholson is just godly.

I did this speech for Jessep in my theater class. It was just so powerful.

  • Happy 74th birthday Jack

  • "You're GODDAMN RIGHT I DID!"

    Shit just got REAL.

  • IV – But Kaffee is doing his job, Jessup is hiding his guilt and cowardly trying to unload the crime on somebody else. Sympathies should go to Kaffee, who does his job well and nails the s.o.b. The film also gives evidence about the antagonism, acrimony and intolerance (“faggoty uniform”, “flash your badge”, “blow job”…) of the USMC towards the US Navy, of which (ha Ha HA!!!) they are however a part.

  • III – as the military (Navy) defense lawyer for the two defendants, a young upstart (maybe) in the practice of law, who eventually (and cleverly) sees through the pantomime put up by the pompous ass and makes him admitting shouting he ORDERED that murder. Nicholson is SUPERB in his part, much better than Cruise as the young upstart lawyer who, however, has the better on him. If we talk about the actors, Nicholson is better and more powerful; but Cruise is good, too. ./.

  • I – How about separating the actors, and keep them separated, from the roles they play, and stop the bickering? On one hand we have, here, Nicholson as Col. Nathan Jessup, commander of the USMC garrison in Guantanamo, in the hostile, communist Cuba: a strutting, arrogant, conceited peacock of a field officer who’s concerned only about keeping his position of COMMAND in his façade as a high-ranking officer. A superb actor, with many credits as such in many parts of different type. 485

  • Tom Cruise was a respectable actor before he went insane

  • @Persian5life

agreed. Cruise has made a couple of movies that I've seen him shine in. 'A Few Good Men' and one that surprised me; "War of the Worlds". The movie was moved along only because Tom made his character worth watching. Otherwise, it would have been kinda weak. It's a shame that he's gone a bit silly.

  • Jack Nicholson.....brilliant as usual

  • Sounds like my dad 30yrs ago ! One of my favorite scenes !

  • Brat Pitt´s speech manner in The Inglorious Bastards looks to me to be copied from here. 0:55

  • As soon as he admitted ordering the code red, he has a look on his face like "opps"

  • JACK NICHOLSON FUCK YEAH!

  • shit acting as a whole

  • @rasterfucker Well, some of us are to old for Sesame street, snot sucker.

  • I was bangin this chick last night and she's all "did you order the code red?" and I'm like "YOUR GODDAMN RIGHT I DID!!!" :)

  • Nicholson's great mother fucker.

  • BIG PENIS

  • 25+ people can't handle the truth. :D

  • YOU'RE GODDAMN RIGHT I DID!

  • BOOM! Nicholson rocks muthfuckaaaaa!

  • What movie is this?! It looks great!

  • @finbomartini You mean you've been sleeping alla time??!!!

  • he did it in one take... damn

  • J. What a bad ass. Probably one of the best dialogue of all time. If you don't agree. "I don't give a DAMN!"

  • wow !!!

  • Ol' Jackie is brilliant.

  • You're god damn right, Mr Nicholson!

  • why Jack Nicholson is a STAR actor.

  • Pretty hard to contradict that...! Sadly, what he said is the truth! Don't get mad because you don't have the balls to admit it!!!

  • There are 25 private santiagos who disliked this

  • @DDBOOGER LMAO!!!!!

  • Jack Nicholson is the best actor and anyone who thinks he sucks. you suck pricks

  • @razor00281 LMAO! man i'm soooo high right now and i can't stop laughing at your comment!

  • @razor00281 He WAS a great actor, before this flick. These days the greatest actor I've seen is Daniel Day Lewis - watch him in Gangs of NY & There Will Be Blood if you don't believe me.

  • OOH RAW

  • @RichardElden No, you are.

  • @RichardElden son jack nicholson could've never been born and still have more value than your miserable trolling ass

  • Absolute truth

  • Lcpl's like "Fuck my life, why didn't I go supply?"

  • hey richard you know what i hope you get cancer jack ncholson is one of the worlds best actors

  • hollywood teeth

  • Jack Nicholson was so amazing in this movie. He's done many, of course, but this is one of his strongest. Including As Good As It Gets, The Bucket List, and One Flew over the CUckoo Nest.

  • Possibly one of the best soliloquies to come out of Hollywood. Politics, message, etc. be damned; this was just fantastic. Lt. Kaffe, honey, darling, light of my life, you didn't let me finish... I'm not going to hurt Santiago, I'm just going to bash his brains in! :)

  • DL the audio from this tune at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • The way of the world in a 2 minute clip.........

  • Well Im gonna just say Thank you Jack and move on my way haha! Mean old bastard aint he haha great actor!! I think there was a lil bit of JOHNNY!! in this scene!

  • Tom Cruise ruining a great scene

  • 23 people didnt order the code red.

  • @97DRcooper

shut your fucking mouth and stop spamming faggot.

  • ooooops!

  • And then, quite casually, "The Rose" starts to play in the background: "Some say love... It is a river..."

    I'm just saying.
