  • 1. Where is the ntds.dif file located?

    2. If AD database is replicated over domain controllers, is data about one domain replicated to domain controller hosting other domain? Is data about one tree replicated to a set of domain controllers hosting a separate tree? Is data about one forest replicated to a set of domain controllers hosting a separate forest?

    3. How does global catalog concept relates to replicating active directory database

    4. what part of domain data gets replicated acros d t f?

  • @trismarck

    1. c:\windows\NTDS\ntds.dit.

    2. Each domain has it's own database or seperate NTDS.dit file which is replicated between all domain controllers in that domain.

    3. Global catalog contains information about all objects in the forest. It is repliated to all global catalog servers in the forest. See are video on the global catalog for more info.

    4. What is that?
