Great bass player! youre my first reference when I am looking for a music that I don't know how to play. Thank you for your videos. My band also thank you...lol.
Interesting, perhaps my ears are playing tricks on me then. In the very beginning is the first note you play a D or an E flat? Because it seems you're fretting a D but it sounds like an E flat. But like I said, I suspect my ears are playing tricks on me.
Great cover but are you tuned down a half step? Because I'm attempting to transcribe and where you're fretting doesn't make the note it would in standard tuning.
@MrNorbi14 That's the spirit !!! You'll feel much better about yourself if you figure it out on your own than if you use tabs (which may be wrong anyway) Just try listening to it and you'll figure it out.
Nice riffs . . . ignore all the ignorant, unmusically inclined, and misguided malcontented wanna-bees who post brainless comments to your site. Kudos to your free instructions . . . and your talent. :))
WRONG. It's not dotted quarter / eighth in the chorus...rather quarter / two eighths / quarter / two eighths. Go back and listen. You're much closer on the verses though.
Why would you make any comment other than " I wish I played my guitar 1/10th as good as you play your bass?" You'll go further in life if you acknowledge greatness rather than voicing your erroneous perceptions.
Hard to believe the bass player who CREATED this timeless bass line for Layla was the late Carl Radle, the very same guy who was the bass player for Gary Lewis & the Playboys.
Well, thank God you're not doing what most of the bass players do when they play this with Eric, and that's follow the chord voicing and rhythm. You're very close, BUT...in the beginning Radle played the figure with a quarter note followed by TWO 8th notes, not a dotted quarter/eighth feel. And the pickup at the end of the two bar cycle beginning at beat #3 is two 8th notes playing D / F followed by two 16th notes playing D / A followed by one 8th note playing C...
Great cover, sounded "in the pocket" to me. Flowing bass lines tend to lose definition in some songs. IMO bass is not only a guitar, but also a rythym instrument much like a drum.

yet again another bassist who doesnt listen to the groove that carl radle put into this great tune.........try to make it flow instead of sounding like your reading the score.
Just because he isn't swaying his body to the side like a fool doesn't mean he isn't grooving. If you really feel so superior, how about you post a video playing and grooving "better".
