  • Right on! What are so called artists getting away with these days!

  • I think there´s a Ghostface Killah song that samples this beautiful tune.

  • @kenyogtz Yeah. It's called "260".

  • real music!!

  • love ittttttttttttt!!!!

  • 4 people lost their glasses and mis-placed their hearing aids!

  • Song still gives me the shivers like it did in 1972. Very few artists had Al Green's talent in putting their raw emotion in a song..Long live Al Green...

  • YES!

    FANTASTIC CLASSIC FOR SURE

  • ONE ALMIGHTY CLASSIC..

  • When I first heard Al Green I was 14 years old and immediately fell in love. Some 40+ years later nothing has changed. Will I still be listening to him when I'm 80 do you think?

  • "260" one of the best RZA beats ever

  • TALKING ABOUT HOW I LOVE YOU... YOU OUGHT TO BE WITH ME.

  • This great 70's masterpiece gave birth to a 1996 rap masterpiece entitled 260 by Ghostface Killah...God bless Rev. Al a true pioneer of all music not just soul

  • "...put good feelins in your night...." That still gives me chills. hehe so beautiful thanks for posting xx Peace to you ♥

  • fat ed villegas is a fat fucking bitch

  • Thank you for posting this song...brings back many, many great memories...ole skool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for posting this. I grew up on this music, and it's never gotten old.

  • "you ought to be with me" Well had I been 19 time of this release instead of now NO doubt..

  • O.K. Everyone on the floor for it's dance contest time (ha ha) I remember my long-time friend, Marsha, and I dancing to his music. Of course, she was one of the best dancers in the D.C. area, but I was not too bad myself. The brass was so prominent in the bands in the 60's.

This cat is so groovy that he is taking down to the river. I am getting a burst of energy at almost 11:00 p.m. at nite.

    Iris of the D.C. area

  • @irismcooper Great post, that made me smile :)

  • Aaaah Al Green <3 ~

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE Al Green. This is timeless.....:)

  • Al Green could sang, and I loved all his sides, but EVERYTIME I hear him sing after the "incident" I think of a pot of hot grits!

  • THANK YOU !!!!

  • @kinstube no problem

  • @kinstube good deal

  • @kinstube much love

  • 260!!!

  • Let me know if anybody knows an existing band that play really soulful music like Al Green. Only this REAL music makes me feel free to dance. Everything else is robotic, automated, pre-designed steps... blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

  • I should play this music when I go on dates.

  • Dosen't matter when you were born, classics last forever.

  • somebody come and tell me this, lol

  • Smooth baby smooth.

  • Beautiful.

  • Pete Rock!!

  • Wonderful. :)

  • "260" Ghostface Killah

  • 1:32 so divine and beautiful

  • I can remember seeing Al in concert back in the 70's when there would be multiple acts in concert. He would hand out roses to the women. Even as kid I knew that it was cool thing to do!

  • SIKK ASS SONG !! SIKK WITT IT !

  • " PASS THE BONE" -MASTA KILLA

  • LoveLoveLoveIt !!

  • ok..i dont care if im in the minority (used to that muscially lol) but think this song easily TRUMPs Lets Stay 2Gether, just based on the sexyness factor alone lol!

  • says it all mark antony love jaxsxxxxxxxxxxx

  • @MrJumpingjaxs Memphis Sound great horn section for sure

  • I admit u are right! his new music is not what i grew up on.But I did get to see him in07 at the blues festival in dana point,ca and he was Smokin!

  • @clmacon you can't take the singing away from him he just had a much better band and better arrangers back then I'm a musician myself and I was speaking purely from a musical stand point al is still the man

  • it seams that back in the day people of color got along better then they do now! do u think the media has someting to do with that? I'm only sayin!

  • @clmacon you're right the politicians play a big part in it also with (class warfare) tactics to win elections but isn't it great that music has no color at all al green recorded a lot of gospel music in the 80s and it sounds real good too but I don't care too much for his new r&b songs I liked his 70s music better

  • @clmacon Media shows what people want to see. Blaming the media shifts the burden of responsiblity. Good job.

  • @clmacon A whole lot of things drugs, crack mainly: one thing is naturally black people envy otha blacks when they see u in the same community with more than what they got so we gone fight each otha steal from each otha just to get what they got its just a cycle of struggle generally with us black race generally in this country we just have to love one anotha no what in unite! Ya feelme

  • @QUANB804 yeah i feel what ya sayin

  • "@QUANB804 naturally black people envy otha blacks when they see u in the same community with more than what they got so we gone fight each otha steal from each otha just to get what they got..."

Blacks don't "naturally" do anything. If you are a jealous thief, then speak for yourself, not the whole black race.

  • Rev. Al hit #3 in Billboard, 12-23-72. God bless ya, Rev. Al. Thanx for postin' it !

  • @DaveWollenberg no problem

  • Great classics like this never get old! Al Green is The Man!

Glad to see there are no dislikes here! One hundred seventy-six people ought to be with that someone special (including myself)!

    Rock on, Reverend Al Green!

  • The song, the singing, the cool assed chord changes, the horns and the guitar as the ending phrase repeats, a classic Willie Mitchell arrangement and Teenie Hodges is just sooo killer on point with the guitar parts!!!! • Wow, this is the best music for a stroll down memory lane...how about the sound of all the instruments, the organ especially...with this voice.....thanks for posting.

  • Every time I hear this, my heart melts. It's a shame I had to be born in '92 because all the best music is the old music and it's harder to find. Glad it was made though.

  • @weluvmusick definitely a good one too...those three just speak to me personally. They make me wanna thank the man personally for them! They make me feel incredible to finally truly know exactly what he is talking about...i'm not just singing along anymore...

  • You can't go wrong with Al Green!
