  • @Evid3nc3 FFS yo, your story played out like a final fantasy...(Mebbe it was just the music doing it though.) Seriously deep stuff. It seems like the reality of illusion hit you square in the face like Omega Dragon. I suggest, if you have not already, gone into more historical research in mythology with special concern to those known as the 'Annunaki', to see how all the stories inter-correlate.

  • Wow you really went on a wild trip mine wasn't like that maybe because i was way less religious than you were

  • although i still like the series very much, i am beginning to doubt how much of it is true.

maybe there was no insanity following your deconvrsion. maybe there were no thoughts that christianity is the opposite of what it claims to be. maybe there was no professor at all to begin with.

but damn me this is still a very good, very thought-provoking AND well made series.

    cheers :)

  • "Then that made me...Jesus". Damn, I wish I made that trip.

  • I must admire your honesty. My own deconversion was a much more gradual process and so that's probably how I avoided any insanity.

  • Does losing faith really cause temporary insanity? I'm glad I never really had faith, then!

  • @Inflatonable It is very frightening, and saddening. I'll admit I was scared.

  • P^n= D + P.... or

PanEnTheism = Diesm + Pantheism..... Wisdom = Truth + Beauty

Wow, I really love your appearance! You also have an amazing voice! You should consider a career in this! ...Science or philosophy videos! I could listen to you lecture all day. Your voice is like smooth honey! Dudecrush...Thank you for sharing.....

  • Hmm...Truly, to sum this up. Deception=logic, reason, and confusion...Truth=God, wisdom, and peace....End of the story.

  • I can't say that my struggle was this intense, but this video expresses my feelings very well.

  • Damn, you really went on a trip!

Kind of makes me wish I had a tale as animated as this. I never went through such an internal struggle. For me as a kid, the Bible stories always just kind of felt like fairy tales. I never questioned my Sunday school teacher, yet I still subconsciously put Moses, Noah, and Adam & Eve in their own box in my mind separate from reality. As I grew up, I dismissed them entirely without even knowing it. Today, I don't think I was ever even a Christian to begin with.

  • pantheism looks better than theism... i'm happy for you ^^

  • @borissman Yes, though atheism is the eventuality. Pantheism is just a neat metaphorical security blanket for some of us until we can kick those training wheels off and accept things as they just are.

  • @alphaenemy Brother i thank you for helping me discover a new concept, the concept of Pantheism after googling it and watching some videos on youtube seems to be what i have been searching for, it best explains the viewpoint i am beginning to reach

  • @MrJeffFort Well, I don't endorse Pantheism, but I can appreciate it a hell of a lot more than Christianity. To me, it works as a metaphor, as in reality and everything is an expression of the "divine", but then again, the "divine" still needs to be explained. Einstein was kind of a Pantheist, I think. It discards the need for ancient scripture to mold a worldview, and allows the individual to think for himself, at least, so it relates to free thought much better.

  • @MrJeffFort I also think you were trying to address the guy that made the video, maybe. I'm definitely an agnostic/atheist/humanist.

  • Beautiful and amazing video.

  • What university and which professor are you referring to in this video? I wish I had met him/her. He/she seems very wise.

  • Lmao...you thought you was Jesus? Niiiiiiiice

  • Holy crap, pantheism is EXACTLY what I went to after my time as a Christian was over. I didn't beleive in Christianity nearly as heavily as you did, since my parents weren't very religious (though still believed in God), but man, I was really stuck at that pantheist stage. I thought there was this one God, and we all interpreted him differently, which is why we have all these religions. I'm really interested to see the next parts of this series. Thank you so much for sharing this journey.

  • @ChaoticReverie1 I still believe in pantheism, The Atheist view of the world does not require conscious beings but since the universe does have conscious beings its safe to say there are higher advance beings and lower and we might be on the lower variety so Pantheism it is

  • @MrJeffFort Woah, your username is the exact same as one of my professor's, lol. Anyway, yeah I don't believe in pantheism anymore, for me it was like a residual belief I clung to after giving up Christianity. It's cool if you do though. Personally I tend to agree with alphaenemy.

  • @MrJeffFort What on earth are you talking about? The atheistic view of the world doesn't require rocks either. Does that mean it's safe to say that if the universe was composed of a single rock, then there would still exist bigger rocks and smaller rocks? Your logic seems to be horribly flawed. Conscious beings is evidence of those conscious beings, not of entirely different beings, higher or lower.

  • @MrJeffFort It's also worth mentioning that human agents possessing the property consciousness is not evidence of the universe as a whole possessing the property consciousness any more than a ball possessing the property roundness is evidence that the universe as a whole is round. Such faulty reasoning is called a part/whole fallacy.

  • nice choice of music.

  • OH MY GOD The music is from the assassination of Jessie James! I love that movie!! I thought I was the only one who bought the soundtrack. Lol

  • hahaha, nice use of one winged angel! Love the series. I too was once a christian, but I was never as thoughtful as you. This series only makes me feel better and happier with my decision to see the truth.

  • Pretty arrogant to project yourself to be Jesus considering your own context of this video.

Don't try to raise yourself above your own followers; that's the same mistake religious figures are making today.

Instead, I would have gone with Lucifer as Jesus, the Morning Star of the Natural World (i.e. - the real God), and the theistic god as The Devil.

  • I'm not gonna lie bro, that was pretty funny when you said you thought you were Jesus. I get how that happens, having spoken to Christians pretty extensively, and how their minds might think strange things if things went downhill. But damn man, thats funny.

  • This segment made me burst into tears. I hadn't found a more succinct, eloquent way of explaining my "spiritual" views. I ran into nearly identical struggles (minus the whole messiah complex following), particularly that of finding horror in the eyes of my neighbors. I felt very alone, but in a way it also helped me discover that when it comes to my own spirit... I'm on my own. I had to make my own decisions and forge new meaning on the corpse of my old worldview.

    beautiful writing. congrats!

  • I am LOVING one winged angel as the song of choice....Viva la FFVII

  • This is one of the most amazing stories I have yet heard!

It has been really helpful to me.

I actually laughed out loud at the "I'm Jesus" part. Hehehe.

  • The most relevant part of this section of this excellent video series is that "it is impossible for truth not to exist" . . . and truth becomes master and ultimate judge of gods. Christianity does not think along those lines. It DARE not, in fact, because it is dangerous to their bottom line, . . . bodies in the seats.

  • I said HOLY FUCKING SHIT! when you said you were jesus! AND YOU ARE AN ATHEIST NOW!

  • At the "Jesus" part, I laughed my ass off thinking of drugs trips and Lil B, the Based God.

  • OMG I really laughed out loud when you said you were Jesus. My roommate is looking at me weirdly. I've been and gone through this a few time with minimal drama because I myself was never really religious. The time parents did take me to church I had really great naps. I use to believe in God the way magic fascinates most kids.

  • the music is from the matrix right? It's when neo is undergoing repairs and sleep after his first moments after waking up in the real world, right?

  • Man, I wish I had an epic proffessor :/

  • FF7 one winged angel......AWESOME

  • "...I am Jesus." Love it xD

  • Love these series!!! Thank you for your honesty and clarity. I recently went through a very similar journey with Islam!

  • I love how you used "One Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy. It fit perfectly and I just couldn't help but laugh a bit.

  • I was born an atheist and in my country that's a normal thing.

After hearing your story I understand so much more how some one can wrestle with his faith and not letting go.

    Thank you for sharing this.

Respect for you and how you came to where you are now.

  • im a satanist who found the truth lol this is very awesome it has some truth but hides the rest if your like me and you need scientific proof ill send you a link if you need historic proof ill send you a link you seeking a god i have everything you need to find the truth the real truth humans have..... facebook tyler joshua seto

  • @satan2metal believing in satan is just like believing in any other god, illogical

  • @Whattchamacallit lol yeah and who says i am worshiping a satan of any kind? i hate people who assume shit

  • @Whattchamacallit look if you want to know more facebook me my oppinion is more logical then anything you know lol

  • @Whattchamacallit There are two types of Satanists: the one you talk of, and the other uses Satan as a symbol of the individual's power... er, a type of mentality, not sure I'm explaining that right...

  • @slythoughts Levey is the guy to look up for more info on that one.

  • Professors response to him thinking he was Jesus:"Cocaine is a hell of a drug"

  • What about Jesus ?

  • i'm not hatin on your deconversion but if you were I true Christian like you said you were in the first episode then you would not have come to the conclusion that God might not exist. this is what true faith is. Also, if one absolutely believes that God exists, then one believes that God determines the truth. Therefore, God would be truth's master. Just a thought.

  • @laz0rer nice 'No True Scotsman' logical fallacy you made there.

  • @laz0rer What created god? nothing? how convenient...... Did god create himself? if that was possible why couldnt the universe have created itself?.... try and open your mind past the falicy of faith...

  • @laz0rer So a true Christian will not question God's existence?

Your definition of a true Christian perhaps is one of a person with an unquestioning faith.

But how can we attempt to find truth without questioning?

Inherent with this questioning would include whether God determines the truth or not.

The video's creator came to the same conclusion I have.

  • continued. My ethics background from years ago, seems to indicate Christian conversionists come from an argument of ignorance. Very few Christians that try to convert me know the Bible at all, yet believe none the less. I try to be kind, but what concerns me is the Theist necessity to be a politician. Either they believe they believe, or they are liars trying to get the religious vote, which is the majority. Know you are not alone, as contrary to Bush's statement, there are many caring Atheists

  • fantastic series, I deeply appreciated the brutal honesty. the confusion between god/jesus and the self is not so far fetched....apparently brain imaging of theists relating what god is telling them he wants of them, lights up in the same brain centres as when they are stating their own wants/desires. this is very revealing when we consider the conviction that non believers go to hell..

  • You made me laugh out loud when you said "I'm Jesus". I love your series.

  • Comment removed

  • Ok through this hole thing you have had me intersted and thought profound. WIth your deconversion. But really Jesus? The mind is a terrible thing to waste. haha Naw that's a joke. Crazy the tricks we can play within are own minds, when the frontlines of loigical is charging at it.

  • Great series, very thought provoking, but I LOL'd when you said "I'm Jesus"!

  • @outoftimeonpandora I actually had a very similar experience. It was very unique feeling. I didn't think I was literally Jesus, but I thought that I could serve as a Jesus-like role in this world. I would go out and show the world the kind of love that can be had. I would generate followers (aka disciples) and hopefully not get killed in the process. I don't remember if I thought this way in the name of God or if it was after I had determined that a god didn't exist though.

  • @outoftimeonpandora Ah ha ha ha, same here - Evid3nc3, kudos for not shying away from telling us about this part of your journey. I hope we get to hear about those 4 interesting days some time!

  • Wow! Brilliant!

  • ...and I mean that litterally.

  • I realized after this that I am much more of a pantheist than an atheist, thanks!

Also, nice Final Fantasy Tactics music in the background; that's my favorite video game, lol.

  • @MyVirtualCoder. Just like not smoking is a habit I suppose....being an atheist is rejecting religion so it is not a religion.

  • @terryman322 : BOO

  • You probably already knew this, but you're "I'm Jesus" phase is reminiscent of Gnosticism.

    Great series, btw.

  • So I want to ask you, although you stopped believing that you were the second coming of Christ, do you still believe the other points you made in the video? As far as what you were saying about the theistic god being a dark force/Satan? Or did those ideas leave you when the idea of being the second coming left you as well.

  • Thank you, for articulating our painful birth from darkness to the enlightenment and truth. You have my vote for sainthood!.

  • I must say i love you for using one winged angel on this....

    Estuans interius

    Ira vehementi!

    Estuans interius

    Ira vehementi!

    Yaweh!

    Yaweh!

  • @Terryracoon Sephiroth is the one true god ALL SHALL FEAR HIM !!!

  • You thought you were Jesus! We're very much alike, in that I sometimes feel like I'm a powerless god. Knowing of the ills of society but unable to fix them.

Stay strong on your mission good sir!

  • I find it interesting that you thought you were Jesus. Before watching this video, i believed that I was the anti-Christ since I believe that God is the universe. I still go to a Christian church, but that is only to spend time with my uncle and grandmother. After I get baptized, i'm putting an end to my Christian self and pursuing Pantheism.

  • lol you thought you were jesus. this extimony is epic.

  • One wing angel, black mages song is amazing :D

  • Your musical choices are incredible. I got chills when I heard "Welcome to the Real World" - and now "Canis Lupus."

Also love how you manage to make deconversion sound like Silent Hill. :)

  • @MrVirtualCoder Atheism is not a religion. Atheism is not a belief system, as atheism is the rejection of belief. Atheism has no beliefs, no doctrines, and no world views. Atheism has no cultural or historical foundation. It is merely a rejection of the idea that a supernatural being exists, which is the foundation of all religions.

Theism is the belief that a god exists. Atheism is the non-belief of a god. Neither is a religion.

  • @gdehms They'll never get it.

  • You made Yahweh look like an extremely scary dark circular Eldritch abomination with all the music and the black text. And the new interpretation of Revelation.

And then, professor smacked you back to sense.

  • If Truth is a Deity, then I am a Theist, for Truth is my God, and the Spirit of truth is in every word that Christ utters.

  • @2gointruth That is where you are wrong. Christ did not utter much truths. he was just as ignorant as his fellow men. There is more truth is the words of philosophers then in the words of mad preacher.

  • @gethsoftware

"Ignorant" is your word - In truth: If Christ is mad, then I pray that I, too, could be so.

  • @2gointruth seach for thruth. truth and god are not at ods. and truth and christ are definetly not at ods.

  • @2gointruth Enugh with the rabbelings of anchent fools. You never know truth that way. one must remain open and not jump to conclusion.

  • "...for four very interesting days....I thought I was literally the second coming of Jesus Christ" ROFLMAO! hahahahahahaha that totally made my day

  • THIS... was heavy! You thought you were the reincarnation of jesus? when i realized i was no longer a christian what bother me was hell. I knew that if god did not exist neither would hell but i was irrationally afraid of it for some time. This let me realize of the harms of religion. I told ProfMTH about it and he told me that it was normal for some people. It eventually disappear. I think that was as irrational as i got. Never thought i was jesus, but thanks for sharing. It shows your honesty.

  • @vision4DaY as Evid3nc3 says in the video, truth is more important. for me to become an atheist it took realizing that even if I am sent to hell for being honest, that would be infinitely noble. it's more likely though that the universe is not run by such a cruel sadistic vengeful maniac.

  • 2:24

"Big Bang and Origin of Life

Likely yet another pair of natural causes"

Actually, it already is. Quantum fluctuations explain the origin of the universe, and Stanley Miller showed how abiogenesis (life coming from non-life) can happen.

  • holy shit

  • Jesus is the true.

True may seem relative on times. Two opposite concepts could be logically true, and still contradict each other.

The bible teaches that all the adults who exited Egipt died in the desert, except Joshua and Caleb. So, they were right! But, the true is that they did not have to die. Their children, the most likely to die, survived and inherited the land.

  • Jesus is the true.

  • Now I think that I got it. Your atheist friend gave you a bunch of books to read, all written by atheists, and you read them. And you became an atheist! Wow. That is George W Bush's law to a T. Now, will your atheist world crumble if you found out that several of those books actually had five authors and the author on the publication page was not the author? So you can toss out their arguments?

  • For another cool version of one winged angel look up "ssh last battle festival!"

  • This guy is an idiot. People are stupid. Who are you? You're a mere human being who thinks you know science. Tell me this knowitall...how did humans form? How did Earth form? Why do humans feel emotions? How is it that Earth is perfectly made? The air is right, the water sustains life. Explosion? Yeah right? Mere chance? If you read the Bible, Jesus came along and changed the world forever. God is loving and cares for you. God saves people. We aren't worthy but he saves

  • @houshmenzadeh15 Science has already explained all that.

    "how did humans form?"

    through evolution

    "How did Earth form?"

star dust from when our solar system formed

    "Why do humans feel emotions?"

It is beneficial for life and a part of evolution

"How is it that Earth is perfectly made?"

Physical laws and there are sextillions of planets out there- well enough for one to suit life.

The big bang was not that much of a "space explosion". You should do research.

  • @houshmenzadeh15 You can answer these questions,If you really wanted to.But you prefer the simple and meaningless explanation "god","I dont know how it happened so it must be god, because this book says so"

  • For four days I lost my mind, and on the fifth day I was pimp slapped by my professor.

  • I have to admit that for a while I also thought maybe I could be Jesus, too. OK, I was only 7 or 8 at the time, but there were weird moments where I either felt special, or that I felt rotten and needed an out, but either way, I felt that later in life it would become clear that I was special and I would find out I was Jesus, and then I would die before the age of 32. Where do kids get such crazy ideas, and why do they need them, even for a little while?

  • Your path follows a VERY similar one to my own. I remember when I discovered the word "pantheist" my heart leapt with joy, as THAT was exactly what felt right after the lie that was xianity. I, too, valued truth over god. I now identify as atheist, too. I'm thoroughly enjoying this series, thanks for taking the time to make it.

  • Did he just defeat Sephiroth?

  • my journey to atheism was a much smoother path , yet something in the back of my mind keeps me wondering if there is some kind of supreme being, or if this universe itself is a being of its own . but then i start to think that this god concept has been integrated into our dna somehow through the generations

  • @1robon I apostated from Islam in the summer, I understand what you mean. Mind control is insidious, and I guess growing up and being taken to sunday school and church from a young age didn't help. One of my earliest and deeply imprinted memories is of the preacher shouting at the congregation about the terrible wrath of almighty God, emotionally it was a very deep imprint. I'm still interested in near death experiences, Graham Hancock and Rick Strassman, but I'm an atheist.

  • I find it wonderful that you played a track form the Omen to describe the dogma of Christ, so major kudos to you.

  • I wish you were the second coming of Jesus and I hope you, by this video series, banish the monotheistic God from existence.

Born and raised atheist, but this series is brilliant. I always thought I had it all figured out, but if I had... why do I find this so rewarding?

  • Fucking major props for using one winged angel. So badass. Lol! Also...I love you?

  • Most effective use of "one winged angel" i have yet encountered.

  • Chris, I can see why you won the 2010 Project Reason Prize from Sam Harris and earned a $10,000 check for your video.

  • I like that you associate reverence with humility in relation to the enormity and beauty beyond.

  • Thumbs up for One Winged Angel! FF7!

  • I do wonder, and i might have asked this on another video, but what do people think when they hear of science of say... global warming? if you believe in it or not, my question is, have you seen the reports? have you personally ever looked at the facts and figured, read the scientific journals on it? if not, then what evidence do you have? you have only what you heard, and that is nothing more than what evidence there is for God. So logically, why one but not the other?

  • @bluefootedpig Your answer to ignorance is further ignorance, taking advantage of the fact that nobody can know every detail of everything they accept as truth. The answer is to think logically. I believe the science of global warming despite my rudimentary knowledge of it because I know that thousands of independent, qualified scientists around the world study and come to the same general conclusions, and despite many interested parties no one can come forward to disprove it.

  • @MrG0dbar See, you proved my point. There is a large body that debates this, that does not believe it. Many of those in said group are also listed on the global warming side. The head body of research, keeps their names on it because they "once" believe it. But now that they actively reject it, they cannot get their names removed. But you prove the point, there is a huge debate on it, and yet you believe it is happening. So you are taking knowledge at face value instead of looking into it.

  • @bluefootedpig Good point. In many areas in life we have to rely on other people who have taken the time to look at and interpret the evidence, be that your personal physician or a climate scientist, and that is the bigger point, that there is evidence to look at and interpret.

  • @Prelude610 So now, could it be said that if you trust a person in a book to conduct a study or experiment honestly, that perhaps a pastor or religious person would relate experiences that they have had, and believe (even if wrong) that their truth is just as much truth as a scientist (who may also be wrong)? I guess it comes down to what is evidence. So the question is how do you define evidence. A farmer, while not knowing the science, will see crop failure and the reason why before science.

  • @bluefootedpig Good question, standards of evidence. In some fields of science the standards are tighter than others, because they can be, or must be. Those with lower standards understand what that means. But to clarify, a testimonial is not evidence. A testimonial is something a person can say. Evidence is something someone can show.

  • @Prelude610 "evidence is something someone can show" very true, but how many people ask for the evidence? How many people who believe in global warming (regardless if it is true or not) have asked to look at the actual numbers? Most tend to just listen to their news that they choose and believe it. So even if you are saying "global warming is happening!" that is just a testimony of what they have seen and believe. For all most believers know, the data doesn't exist, for they never have looked.

  • @bluefootedpig - We can't all go to the evidence on everything. At some point we have to go with what people who have evaluated the evidence have to say, be that a climate scientist of your doctor. But, these are evidence-based positions these people take. They aren't faith-based, although provisional trust, not faith, has been given to these experts. Religion, on the other hand, and in the best cases, is an attempt to deal with the big questions. At one time it may have been ...

  • @Prelude610 "at some point we have to go with what people who have evaluated the evidence say"... but that is the question. How far removed is it. My professor learned from his professors, who most likely got most of his ideas from a book, or other professor. How many times removed can someone be and have it still be correct? I know no climent experts personally, and if I get my info from school, odds are they don't know anyone personally either.

  • @bluefootedpig How do you know how to verify your knowledge? Repeat the experiments that were the basis of the claim which is elevated to knowledge after critically examining the underpinning of logic behind making that claim. If it still doesn't add up try to come up with a better explanation and test for the evidence that would make it true. Afterwords present it to the scientific community for review. That's how science grows more accurate not a limiting factor.

  • @hockeater yeah, but how many people perform the tests. Tell me, how many experiments have you personally done on plate tetonics and how many on vacines? odds are you haven't done both. So at that point, you are relying on society, which we have seen many times over corruption. DTD ring a bell? did you know it cures polio, or so all the research said at the time. Turns out it causes problems, yes we have advanced beyond that, but what makes you think what we do now is any better?

  • @bluefootedpig The plates are moving. I've visited the grand canyon twice and performed the measurements on the known uplift event twice and both results came up as expected. As for volcanoes what do you want verified? There's a wide variety of experiments you can do from the comforts of your house to confirm the basic principles of physics as they apply to volcanoes.

  • @hockeater I said vacines. Not volacanoes. The point of the two fairly unrelated topics is while someone like yourself might be interested in plate tetonics, would unlikely be willing to also test medicine. So one area of your life is governed by professionals and not yourself, and thus your mind must make judgements on how trustworthy it is.

  • @bluefootedpig Oh for vaccines that's easy. You know all those new strands of flu you're not getting thanks to the shots? Vaccine baby!

  • @hockeater Thanks for proving my point. Since the age of about 10, i stopped getting the flu vacine. I have never gotten the flu since then. a flu to me is a very distant memory. My wife, whom I personally know has not gotten the flu vacine for 10 years, also never got it, even when our little town got hit by a flu virus (by town, i mean a very small town). So you just pointed out how without vaccines, you still don't get the flu.

  • @bluefootedpig Actually the vaccine is to prevent you from getting certain strands as they appear rather than every disease strain ever. This would be why new shots are needed. Maybe your town simply got hit by an older strain or one you'd already built a strong immunity from with past case of the flu. All a vaccine is is the declawed version of a virus. It stimulates your immune system and builds immunity without bringing in symptoms.

  • @hockeater Maybe you missed the several comments, but unless you have specifically ran the tests, you are trust that what they are producing as a flu vaccine does its job. Like for emergencies, the US has millions worth of flu pills, which have only been shown about 60% of the lab work done, the other 40% has been hidden. But unless you specifically are doing the testing, then you really don't know. I am not trying to say plate tetonics or vaccines don't work, only you don't know.

  • @bluefootedpig I get vaccinated regularly and I don't get flu. This proves the test in itself. If I were vaccinated and did get the flu you'd have a point. In your case the fact that you don't get flu is merely a testament to small town living where you aren't jam packed into tight crowds where disease spreads easily or possibly the other factors I mentioned. The fact that other things can do what x does doesn't invalidate that x regularly does those things.

  • @hockeater I am not even sure how to address this... that logic is horrible flawed. Are you saying that because I eat an orange every day, terrorist aren't attacking america? Since 9/11, i have eatten an orange every day to ward off the terrorist, and since then they haven't attack! That is about your logic. You get vaccinated, and don't get the disease, but who says you would get it anyway? It actually doesn't prove anything, even remotely. Nor does it even address the original argument.

  • @bluefootedpig Are you joking? Terrorists named fox news attack everything America was originally built to stand for with threats and polarizing stories almost constantly. Clearly your oranges are ineffective! Maybe try bananas. You wanna get silly we can get silly while still logically disproving every point you try to make.

  • @hockeater No, you haven't, not even in the least. You said you do X and it prevents Y, and therefore that is evidence. I never claimed my oranges stopped fox news, I said the 9/11 terrorists. Al-quada has yet to attack another skyscrapper. You claimed you took a vaccine and didn't get sick, therefore it worked. That is just as valid evidence as my eating an orange prevented terrorism from happening again.

  • @bluefootedpig More specific terrorism? Someone didn't follow the mail bombings that while less serious still claimed lives. Again try bananas! Oh wait their leader is dead so this is a moot point before you even test never mind.

  • @bluefootedpig - ... mankind's best effort, but actual evidence has invalidated the claims of most of all religions.

BTW, there is no reason to "believe in" global warming, or "believe in" evolution, or "believe in" gravity. Your use of the "believe in" phrase seems to be saying something important about how you approach such things. Same goes for your use of the word "truth" in the earlier post. Not flaming, just noting.

  • @Prelude610 My use of believe in, and truth is all realitive, that might be what you are picking up on. I use them as it is a term that most people often feel. It is difficult, at least from my position. It is amazing how many atheists for instance will say that relgion has been proven wrong. It is a sub culture and I often try to communicate on that level. I believe in very little, and my faith in the system is lacking, namely due to the immature nature of the scientific method.

  • @bluefootedpig Another problem here, declaring something a "truth". Science does not deal in truth. It is all about providing the best possible explanation of the facts, per the evidence. But science is ruthless when it comes to errors and particularly lies, which is why you see so many science-oriented folks going after religion and similar nonsense. Not that such nonsense does not have value in people's lives. But keep in mind, Santa Clause is fictional.

  • @bluefootedpig - I think the "truth" you are referring to is a person's take on a situation, declaring it a "truth", not because they can prove it, but because that's how they have decided to interpret something.
