@SyedTheDulax Mate if I put it in the description on one site what happens to the rest? Believe it or not youtube isn't the only place this video exists (even if its the only place I posted it). I just thought if you're watching the video and the screen goes black with two lines of white writing people would put two and two together. I will put it in there, just incase people don't want to watch the entire video :)
this is a great vid, you did good on the drifting. im planning on getting a car myself off craigslist it comes with 2 bodies and the Tamiya TB02 chassis, is that a good one? (the chassis)
If you are a Pro, YOKOMO is Highly recommended. But if you just starting go for HPI OR TAMIYA. get a feel of it first.. Because YOKOMO got a nice price tag when it comes to RTR. But definitely worth it..
Dude you gotta be kidding... you can get a NiMH 4500mAh battery pack for around 60AUD .. think you over spending on ur battery.. lol.. it will last for min 30mins..
Yes all electric. Batter life depends on what size battery you get, really how much cash do you want to spend. Can pay above $100AUD for some lasting 15 minutes or more depending on what motor you use. Or you go Li=Po which are about $300-$400 AUD.
Pretty much just hard plastic tires. They are AWD so its hard to spin out (if you are, just power out and the front wheels will correct you). You lock the rear diff so it kicks out easy and yeah, it just slips. Think of it this way, in real life, you can drive a drift car without drifting, but its very hard to drive these without drifting, it just happens.
Long answer: Depends if you are grip racing or drifting. I am assuming you're drifting, so I'd suggest tires. Try the Yokomo single band tires, they go well.
I thought I put the name in the video? Its by Celldweller and called 'One Good Reason'.
If you want to get started I'd suggest a Tamiya TT-01 or TB-0. The Yokomo Drift Packages are great for drifting but very expensive. You can get these on eBay or at your local hobby shop.
I would also suggest joining an online forum, you'll find most of your questions will have been answered.
I got my kit (without electrics) for about $300. My controller retails for $300 and my Charger for $120, not to mention paint for the body, motor, ESC and batteries.
lol kwl i have a ansmann royal flash (off road) the motor is burnt out lol i have a video of it lol my battery only lasted 2/3mins though lol i want a drift car im getting 1 in august 4 my bday lol cant wait they look like fun
It all depends on your motor. 30 mins is not a bad run time.
I use 3300 mAh and 3800 mAh, Mike and Joe use 4200 mAh, they get around 15-20 minutes, but our track is pretty much flat out the whole way, so if you're doing little tight turns and not using much throttle, you'll get a longer runtime.
the rc drift cars on ebay wen ya read the description it says electris not encluded does that mean its onli the shell and wheels ur buyin and if so how much do yhe electrics cost...if anyone nos please let me no....cheers
when it says electrics not included it means you get a rolling chassis with body and wheels. Without engine, remote crontrol, battery, loader so its missing all the electric stuff...PS dont buy them buy the 1s that are ready build or complete building kits
its true these r extremely expensive but i know a good place 2 get a bargain driftin r/c wich is wat begginers would want but i gotta ask a question is the a skyline r32 or an r34?
You can get them at any good hobby shop or off evay. They range from a couple hundred dollars for a basic car or a couple thousand for a pro set up. These specific cars (Yokomo drift kits) are about $600-$700.
Any AWD RC car will dift as long as it has the right tyres (ABS, PVC pipe, electrical tape, or proper drift tires) and usually a locked, or tight rear diff.
I only chose this song as it was 'fast' and had heaps of variations in beat, which you can hear when the scenes change (such as slow motion/fading when music fades).
Does it cost to use this circuit at hobby habit? Is it at blair Athol?Do you know how much their cars costed? Are they nitro or electric? If you could get back to me as soon as possible that would be great. Thanks Mate
Yeah it cost $10 to use it for a day, or $5 if you're a member. This is the Melrose Park one on Daws road. They sell kits for about $400 or $500, but we've spent up to about $1,000 on all the best gear, I think my current expense is about $1,500 (I have SO much stuff).
People drift both nitro and electric, but these are electric.
I think the plain yellow car is 190 and the Gold/black one might be 200mm, not 100%. The plain yellow one is an ABC body and the Gold/black one is a HPI. Both are Nissan Skyline R32's.
Most of the time it was just me holding the camera but I did actually strap the camera to my chassis (with no body on). It makes for some good footage if you get it right, I need more practice to get it running smooth and keeping the car in the shot.
Most car kits (unless RTR which means Ready To Run) come with the chassis, wheels, tyres, a body, and a stock motor. Many Tamiya kits (such as the TT-01) come with ESC's. You're chassis needs a Servo, Receiver, Controller (all of these 3 come with contorller kits), a motor, an ESC, and a battery. If your kit comes with a ESC and motor, then buy a 2CH Radio (controller) and you will usually get a receiver and servo included. I suggest a Futaba 2PL.
The TT-01D is a good drift chassis, however the tires that it comes with are way too grippy. I suggest buying either Yokomo Single band drift tires or get some PVC or ABS (Poly) piping and making your own tires. It needs to be 52mm diameter and have a good wall thickness.
The twins both have Yokomo MR4-TC SD Drift Packages. I recently bought one from Dinball on eBay and it has to be the best drifter I have owned (I have been through about 7 different ones).
It may take a day or so to get the hang of drifting, but then from there its just setting your car up how you want (if its adjustable) and just getting better.
Most kits come with just a clear body, chassis, stock motor, rims and tyres. To get going, you will need radio gear (controller, receiver and servo), a ESC (Electronic Speed Controller), battery and a charger. You may need o buy drift tyres if the kits doesn't come with them (although if its a drift kit, it will).
Try looking on ebay for a used, RTR (ready to race) chassis. Search Tamiya TT-01 or Yokomo Drift Package.
Its not about the 'car' itself, you can change the bodies, its all about the chassis. I suggest buying a second hand Tamiya TT-01 kit from ebay or a shop. New ones aren't that expensive either. I got my very first car for about $200 with everything and just put some poly pipe on the rims to use as drift tyres.
So ask your hobby shop or search on ebay if you want to buy online.

do u think i should put a 10.5 turn motor in my car or leave it as a 17t?
Rcdude09 2 years ago
Depends where you drift. A track like this has long, wide corners, so a fast motor is suitable (I used a 15t, but both cars in this video use a 17t).
I think the 10.5t isn't worth it, considering you already have a 17t.
Brushless motors would be great, never have to worry about power (but you do have to worry about breaking stuff with that much power).

Jason,
Most car kits (unless RTR which means Ready To Run) come with the chassis, wheels, tyres, a body, and a stock motor.
