  • Sarah is right. All women are princesses. It's the truth. We all deserve respect and love-no matter who we are!

  • SO beautiful. I can't express how much I love this film.. So sad and beautiful and makes my heart melt.

  • little Sara is certainly a Princess in real life Liesel Pritzker.(aka Liesel Mathew).....worth 260 million as heir to the Pritzker fortune (Hyatt Hotels)....she sued her own father for tampering with her trust fund !

  • @taliesen1953 she's worth over 1 billlion now...lol haha

  • I love Sara the survivor.

  • I felt bad for Miss Minchin. She obviously had zero love in her life.

  • Sara fuckin' owned Miss Minchin in this scene-I don't say the F-word a lot but it's how I felt!

  • i saw this movie atleast ........ 1000 times?

  • miss minchin maybe a bitch but clearly she had no fatherly figure as a child and was jealous of how saras father treasured her so i ALMOST feel bad for her (ps no excuse for being a total cow) i dont know why she thinks she isnt pretty i think so :) x

  • so incredibly BEAUTIFUL.

  • good making she grow and the women go smaller look to it really good

  • @jenssie123gb I agree, the camera work is fantastic here!

  • This scene is inspirational

  • Video needs more Men's Asses.

  • Miss Minchin's a sucker.

  • I AM A PRINCESS. ALL GIRLS ARE. EVEN IF THEY LIVE IN TINY OLD ATTICS EVEN IF THEY DRESS IN RAGS EVEN IF THEY AREN'T PRETTY OR SMART OR YOUNG THEY'RE STILL PRINCESSES. ALL OF US! i love this quote!!! PS i'm a girl (and a princess lol!) despite my username. ;)
  • This is just so beautiful.

  • Ever read the book? In the book it says that Miss Minchin is simply a horrid woman, obsessed with money, and that she plainly doesn't like Sara mostly because of the way she reacts to being punished (poised and just perfect, as opposed to crying and fearing her like what all the other girls do, it made Miss Minchin feel sort of inferior to her). I also suspect in the beginning that she's jealous of Sara's fortune.

It is seriously an amazing read! I highly recommend it!

  • This scene makes me cry so much! She stands up to Minchin and puts her in her place. I wished it showed Minchin when she left the room and had that sad look on her face and teared up a bit, shows she never experienced fatherly love.

  • Suddenly: toddler nursing and 28 months. What a way to ruin the mood.

  • I memorize this line by heart...

  • I loved this movie as a kid and I still love it!!! and im 17

  • WOW!!! This scene is worthy of an academy award!

  • I love the way they film this , the way the camera person has Sarah going up and Miss Minchin going down while Sarah is telling her off! I adore this scene and this movie.

  • this clip just made me cry. I love this movie :')

  • You missed out the really important part in my opinion where the emotional music comes on and you see her cry, she must feel really intense inside

  • you have to wonder what happen to a woman to make her so hatefull

  • I watched this yesterday with people who only speak Spanish, so it was in a spanish audio track. I missed the sound of Eleanor Bron's voice. I sthat weird? Just did not feel the same to me....

  • Miss Minchin made an account and disliked this.

  • @AnnieTheModernMovie That's hilarious

  • @AnnieTheModernMovie loooool

  • @AnnieTheModernMovie i just died laughing...you just made my day lol

  • If you read the sequel, Wishing for Tomorrow, it talks about miss Minchin's own desolate, sad childhood and how she came to be the way she is...I kinda feel sorry for her at the part where she sheds a tear...so sad.

  • One person was never told they were a Princess... :(

  • Comment removed

  • I'm 24 and I'm still in love with this movie.

  • I've read the book, too, and I like it better than the movie :)

  • Who plays Sarah?

  • @bleunightmare Liesel Matthews plays Sara.

  • @goinback yeah boi!!!

  • i love this because all girls r princesse and this is my favorite movie like 4 ever ;];];]

  • どんなボロを着てても、女の子はみんなお姫様だって、

    お父様に教わらなかったの!!?

    大好きです、このシーン。

  • omg this is the only time i felt sorry for Ms. Minchen...like when she tells Sarah "Or better yet, look in the mirror" I was thinking what a mean, cruel woman, yelling that to a little girl....when Sarah stands up to her, I was like "Yeah! Go Sarah! You tell her!"

and then when Saran says, "Didn't your father ever tell you that?" ...I'm not sure how to describe how I suddenly changed to pitying Minchen...it's just so powerful and told in a simple way

  • Eleanor Bron was marvelous as Miss Minchin. It's sad how she turns on Sara when she has to become a hosekeeper for the school. Still, I pity her in this scene. Sara obviously tapped a nerve to make her tear like that. Poor woman, never knowing love.

  • Also I just want to point out the camera angles in this scene when its the "stand off" between sarah and miss minchin. Notice how when sarah stands up for herself against Miss Minchin the camera makes her seem taller and miss minchin seem smaller. I noticed this a while ago and LOVE IT! amazing scene!

  • @lbar1990 Whoa I've never noticed that! That's really interesting!

It's amazing how little details like that, which not many people can catch, contribute to the overall feeling of the scene. :D

  • from watching this on VHS when I was 5 until now watching it on netflix when I am 20, this movie is one of the greatest I've seen. (oh and I cry at the end every time.)

  • I love this movie-3

  • I'll admit I feel sorry for Miss Minchin here (and only here). Not all father's are like Sarah's, unfortunately I know that firsthand.

  • That's why I love A Little Princess, Snow White, Cinderella... they teach that we're all ladies, all princesses, and we need to act like it so people will remember to treat us like one. They teach that princesses never give up and love EVERYONE, not just people who are nice to us, because what's so impressive about that?

  • One of the best scenes and that sums up the philosophy of the book and the movie!

  • Cruel? Nasty? where does that lady get that nonsense?

  • I love this part where Sarah makes a stand for herself against all odds....and Miss. Mitching.

  • You cut out the part where Miss Minchin started crying. That's a pretty important part :(

  • Why did mrs minchin start crying???

    Can someone answer

  • @Aliyasosweet I think what Sarah said must have reminded her of her own childhood which Im guessing was awful.

  • @Aliyasosweet I think it's because her dad proberly either wasn't very nice to her or he died or something because if you look when sara says "didn't your father ever tell you that" Miss Minchin looks quite hurt and sad

  • I am a princess?! Well you learn something new everyday!

  • I love this!!!!

  • Miss Minchin must have not had a very nice Dad.

  • @anticliche321 Yeah that's what I thought either that or he died or something, proberly explains why she seems quite a bitter person, it's sad really :(

  • one of my favorite movies of all time

  • I love the book. & now I've found the movie!! Whooo!!~

  • I kept on over-dialoguing words like "do you understand what I'm saying?" "no, you cunt, now get back in the kitchen"

Or "look around you! Look in the mirror!" "why won't you look in the mirror, you ugly hoe"

Just generally making that girl badass!

  • I love how Sara stands up for what she believes in. This scene really captures her courage. Sara stands tall in this scene.

  • It's true, we are all princess:) this movie is about loving eachother I think

  • still gives me chills.

  • I love this scene! :D

  • This is literally one of the most beautiful bits of film in the world

  • jeeez ms. minchen...you need help...BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG time!!!

  • 'its a cruel nasty world out there' - exactly miss minchen, and its people like you that make it that way!

  • This scene makes you so proud to be female :-) we are all princess :-)

  • The photography in this movie is breathtaking

  • liesel matthews was soo pretty in this movie

  • Love this scene! My favorite part!. At the beginning the angle is high on Sara making her look smaller compared to Miss Minchin, and then when she does her speech, the rolls reverse and the angle gets low on Sara and high on Miss Minchin making, MIss Minchin the smaller weaker person in this scene. GENIUS!

  • I'm 20, and I still adore this.

I love how the message is that the world will try to knock the inspiration and passion out of you, but to never allow it to happen. So beautiful.

  • @pippajeanette And why is it so often other people who knock the inspiration and passion out of us??

  • @pippajeanette My sentiments EXACTLY!!!!! :-)

  • This is my favourite bit of dialogue from the movie though I wish you would have let it go on for three more seconds. When Miss Minchin sheds a tear is the ONLY time I feel sorry for her in the movie. She must have been raised by strict parents and never shown love, herself.

  • i agree. that part can still make me tear up.

  • @meatballhead15 I'm same I really feel sorry for her when she sheds that tear - there's so much drama in that moment. You can just tell that she never was told such things and that now it hurts to hear Sarah telling her things she doesn't want to hear. Somehow that makes her actions just that bit more harder to bear instead of her being a pure, linear villianess.

  • @meatballhead15 I know... I actually felt like crying when I saw her cry! People like that who are so unhappy they feel the need to make others unhappy are the ones who really need to be shown compassion and love.

  • I am a daughter of the King of kings, I am a princess

  • Probably one of my favorite scenes in any films!

  • i adore this scene!!! but in the french version, you can really hear the pain and the hate of this confrontation... it is amazing!
