They used to tour with a huge, old Midas console around the Achtung Baby/Zooropa/POP tour, but Joe had been looking to move up to a digital assignable console for a long time. It was only when DigiCo came out with the D5 console that it became a realistic concept. I mixed a multitrack of U2 in Chessington on an SD7 a while back, superb piece of kit, inspirational band ; )
