I don´t think May is underrated. He was ranked at #39 on the Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". Many, many people know that he is a hero.

@Zeldovich If you're referring to Freddie Mercury,Robert Plant had his range & so did Brad Delp from Boston,who had an awesome voice.There are also a ton of rock singers that came from the 70's/80's with major range & great voices.Geoff Tate/Queensryche,Tony Harnell /TNT,Ronnie James Dio/ Black Sabbath ,Robert Halford /Judas Priest to name a few. If you're not familiar with all of these singers you should check some of them out. Paul Stanley from KISS had a heck of a voice too in the 80's.

OMFG... Axl rose just killed one of the best songs ever. His singin' sucks! really suck! Elton is fine but Axl made me sick! In Guns N' roses his singing is pretty lame most of the time, but in this song, in fucking horrible. And there is no Slash and Slash is awsome anyway.
@kimizrachi Only, Slash would have likely been outclassed by May. I love Slash too, but he's not nearly as capable of a guitarist as May (who famously used his guitar to immolate other instruments).
