  • Have you got the evert -austin match in the year end championchips1981 at the robin round where chris has won the match which was considered to be one of the best matches ever on tour?.I've been looking for it so long and you seem to be an expert who has got nearly everything :D So if you have the match please post it,would be a great pleasure for me and for all fans of classic tennis:D Btw thanks for all the videos you have posted so far.So nice to see those matches

  • if i'm correct the match you are refering to evert won 6-0,6-0.and that is already up on youtube.

  • @jayfey77

As far as I know the match where evert won 6-0,6-0 was 1982 year end championchips but I am looking for the the match in the 1981 year-end :D Have you got that one too??thx for answering anyway

  • sorry i only have the 82 final.i thought it was 81.my mistake.

  • @jayfey77

Okay no problem at all ,one has to admire the quality of your videos .I really enjoyed them and i hope you wont stop posting them :D

  • The Round Robin match at the year end Toyota Championships [East Rutherford, New Jersey] in 1981 where Chrissie beat Austin 7-6 in the third was never televised. I remember when I was 13 years old reading the results in the newspaper the following morning with much anticipation.

  • ahhh hippy hair.

awsome there hot, what happend to jager lol

  • i never knew tracy was younger than hana mandlikova by about 10 months

  • serena's sour when she loses... never gives credit to her opponents like klara zakapolova

  • on youtube you can watch bits of Connors and the great Ken Rosewall using, respectively, Steel and aluminum (as I recall, a Slazenger) in the 1974 US Open final. Only the beginning of the second video gives a glimpse of Rosewall's class. Rosewall's wooden Slazenger's were 14.5 ounces. The "70s were a time of experimentation with rackets. It's great to see Austin and Jaeger, some of the last pros to learn with wood and the kind of stroke that the wooden racket requires. Wonderful stuff!!!!

  • Are there any chances you can post more matches featuring Tracy Austin or Andrea Jaeger? They're two of my favorite tennis players and unfortunately they just played for 3 or 4 years, so every video with them is very rare and precious :)

  • Tracy Austin vs Pippi Långstrump

  • I'd also like to say that there are two others I'd like to see:

The 1980 Avon Championships and her back to back wins over Evert and Navratilova in the 81' Canadian Open tournament.

  • What a treat to come across this match! Previous poster was right about how few matches are out there with Tracy. The 81' US final against Martina has been around for a long time. I recently saw her US final win against Chris in 79' and her loss to Chris at 82' Toyota Season Championship but there have got to be others out there somewhere.

Whoever has them, I hope you'll share them here if you can.

  • nice video....please share us Pam Shriver video....

  • Thank You for so much for putting this on here. There are no austin vids really.

  • What a rare, precious match. I love Tracy and Andrea's solid backcourt game. Both Chrissie's reincarnation. I can see from this vid that Tracy was really too lightly built to stay at the top for too long. A real shame. Thanks for the treat!

  • i will post matches of tracy vs evert and against navratilova very soon,i have everything.

  • Thanks for posting this, almost a cult match bearing in mind both ended their careers so young. Tracy won a couple of slams (US opens) and Andrea got to the final of the French Open and Wimbeldon. A pity the injuries got in the way. Martina and Chris cleaned up.

  • What sort of injuries did Andrea Jaegar have?

  • She had a shoulder injury at age 19 (may have been rotator cuff) and stopped playing in 1985. She is now a nun looking after terminally ill children on a ranch in America.

  • I had the impression that Jaegar's injuries were more of the psychological kind and that her heart was often not in her game and her mind elsewhere. I know she's now a nun helping terminally ill kids.

  • Her injuries were real, not psychological. Perhaps her heart wasn't in her game after she became injured because it hurt to play? Not much fun playing day in day out in pain.

  • nice blast from the past. tracey had incredibly deceptive racket head speed. both these girls made a big splash coming in and left with a whimper.
