  • I never did get the non Dynamic brake deal with RFP? Mabey it is the a budget thing> I just saw one out at CSX last week, it was sitting by the new "brick". it is a real RFP engine too bad it does not have some fade and shows the RFP through the CSX LOL. Must be tuff to slkow down that over head chessie rail traffic with no dynamic brakes? Scarry though to have only air brakes. RFP was bridge traffic for chessie? My CSX book says they lost the big yards at patomic for relastate deal?

  • Nice

  • Notice all the nice 5700 series cabs with cushion underframe that the ACL took from SAL after the merger. They gave SAL their old "Orange Crates" in return. They were like riding a boxcar. SAL was a good RR to work for. Can't say the same for ACL. They were a bunch of real pricks.

  • This guy from northern climes always finds it weird to see locomotives without snowplows on their pilots! Lots of cool TOFC. Thanks for posting this.

  • Is that the Van Dorn St underpass and the light at Eisenhower in the background? I see the trash truck coming off of what looks like Eisenhower.

  • Yes

  • man I miss those days hanging out at Alexerdia station see these trains and listening to the dispatchers sigh

  • Look at all the TOFC - thank you for posting.

  • Thats some good stuff!

  • Thanks for the posting. These locomotives were obviously built before 1979 when the FRA enacted their noise regulations. Great EMD 645E turbo sound, not like today's engines which have very little stack noise and plenty of traction motor whine.

  • I think CSX goes on there too.

  • nice video

  • RF&P was a bridge-line. It forwarded traffic between the Seaboard, Chessie System and Conrail. Sometimes RF&P cabooses would show up.

  • Why a Family Lines caboose?

  • Classic caboose on the end also

  • Those look like GP40-2s without dynamic brakes.

    Classic locomotives, great camera work.
