The car was built and owned by Prime Garage in Japan, where it was drag raced. It then was imported to queensland, australia, then sold and now resides in Perth, Western Australia. Car has seen over 600rwhp in aus on race fuel and over 500rwhp on 98RON pump fuel.

it may be what people call compressor surge but its not, real compressor surge occurs when you're boosting and the turbine spins too fast or too slow for the engine to use its power, flutter after throttle is normal, it still happens with a bov it just makes it sound different...

haha i see you don't know shit about cars. bov is used to prevent damaging compressor surge but a correctly tuned bov will still have a little cs to keep the air pressure inside the intake and if you jump back on the throttle you will have instant response

It's a Sequential Gearbox and for a car that's built for racing shift times matter and that shifts faster then many people can even think about it. I drive a 5 speed with clutch and I know how much more fun it is but those type of gears are just faster.

U can drive a boosted car in vacuum while "giving it gas". Just stay outta the cars power band. its how you save gas-while giving it gas. Past 80% throttle and when the engine is under load, boosted car or not...ur ecu sends more fuel to the engine than would be needed in normal driving conditions. If you couldnt drive say..an srt4 normally(no boost) then think how much more shitty on gas that car would be or any car for that matter. just stay outta the power band doods.

I can tell you don't even have a driver's licence yet. Let alone ever driven a turbo car. Turbo cars will still be in vacuum even if giving gas. When you give high throttle, it'll go above 0 and you'll be boosting. Thanks for wasting my time faggot.

A BOV or Bypass should open ANY TIME the throttle plate closes! What you're talking about Hazarnova339 is called a wastegate.. Compressor surge is very bad at anything over 5lbs of boost on a decent flowing turbo.. They make sequential BOV's to have two settings so you can stop compressor surge on lower levels without leaking at higher levels.. Otherwise the spring tension set for higher levels won't open at lower levels (i.e. won't open below 15lbs if set to hold boost at 40)

lol it's no big deal, the blow off valve shouldn't open (or completely open) until it is running maximum boost, because if it vents at lower it won't be able to let enough out at higher revs, THEN you have problems.

@duff; the point I am making is that this video is very old, and anybody that knows their Jap parts knows this is just an Ikeya Formula shifter, which changes the H pattern into up/down like on motorbikes.

As far as dog engagement goes, people generally do not use the clutch to up shift, but they will use it going back down through the gears.

Do you run Ikeya or straight cut gears in your car, out of interest, or am I beating a dead horse here?

In this video watch as he changes gears and listen close... and at the end you will hear the BOV but dont get confused because that flutter sound you her is compressor surge which is air being forced back into the turbo causing the turbine to spin backwards...
