watched this movie for the first time today.....INFINITELY better than I thought it would be. Several parts choked me up and the ending was brilliant. Thomas Newman soundtrack always adds an extra layer of quality (Shawshank Redemption, Meet Joe Black, Road To Perdition, and American Beauty) wouldn't be the same without his music.

@rajamec1 I take it you are complimenting him. I think he is just a great actor, probably the best around that plays his roles excellently regularly. Other great actors usually study their characters for extensive amounts of times but Dicaprio doesn't seem to need that.

Also, I feel directors choose characters that fit DiCaprio, so it ends up being win win.

I have a CD of 1 -2 minute snippets from several of his movies...one of my favorite compilations...I play it for people they are amazed. What is amazing is everyone has heard these songs but have never connected them to one artist. As soon as I hear a song from a new movie that is Thomas Newman Scored, I go see the movie as I know it will be emotional because of his work.. this song is probably one of his more haunting... Thomas Newman is a genius. He makes simple themes into masterpieces...what is best with this soundtrack, is that the theme is repeated throughout the whole movie, but slightly different every time. I love the build up when the strings come in.....ahhh I JUST LOVE IT ALL SO MUCH haha :)
