  • Not too bad. I wish my school (Hamilton Music Academy [look em up!]) would do this show. We're not so restricted when it comes to having an "appropriate" content. We're pretty free.

  • did ur school allow you to keep the marajuana refrence or did u have to change some things?

  • nice dancing, nice to-toots, those three girls danced their butts off. nice.

  • The harmonizing was excellent. But the problem I have with high schoolers putting on "Company" is that it's just not believable unless the actors ACT like they're 30 something years old instead of teenagers. You really need to go the extra mile with this show. They didn't do bad though

  • I was there thru months of rehearsals.. I barely [if at all] heard harmony. I don't think they were taught [foggy memory] to be "big" on harmony.. just to sing the song "solid."

As far as age - It's difficult to tell from this small clip but... the actors were very aware of the age bracket they were playing, and were quite convincing.

It seems that a lot of people "have problems" with high-schoolers playing adult roles, but what else is there to play, unless they're performing some fluff-crap?

  • I agree and disagree. One thing that never changes between men and women is that women want committment and men want to avoid it. True, in HS, committment means something competely different, but that's what the show is about, and I think that even high schoolers understand the feelings and attitudes behind the story.

  • No it's not this song really, I actually think the girls did a good job of conveying their dissappointments in his lack of commitment. But in general, the show is full of songs like "Ladies Who Lunch" or "Marry me a Little" that are just so complex for high schoolers and even some adults to comprehend. But I'm impressed, this production didn't do half bad.

  • they did very well... try to sing this tounge twister of a song and put the right emotion ...it's hard...unless you're a broadway or a west end veteran

  • I agree with Bohemia. The girls did great but their choreography and movement was very teen-like. Could you imagine someone like... your mom moving around like that? ( assuming your mom is around 30-40ish age)

  • Haa I know, right? *Mom, quit dancing like that, it's embarassing!*

  • I Disagree w/ that, u can stand there and totaly sell it. i don't mean be a board, but u can sell it stright out.

  • Is it just me or does the lower harmony seem off at times....?

But in any case, I don't think the dancing is too much. I'm doing this song in a Revue, and we have some fun choreography too. :) This song just doesn't work if you're standing still!

  • i dont even think they're doing the harmony...or if they're trying, it's not very good. I agree with poster of the video, the choreography was needed to distract from the song.

  • were the couple with robert in the begining of the video supposed to be high or not?

  • I don't like Robert in this part, his acting is disappointing

Anyway, I looove this song. But the dancing is too much sometimes, there's nothing wrong with standing still sometimes.

  • waaaayyyy too much choreo, the song should stand on its, with minimal movement - quite distracting, and because of so much movement, it made the vocals ordinary:(

  • The vocals ARE ordinary. That's why the movement was increased. [Sorry girls!] And the choreographer, and the girls, wanted to do the number with more "action," to amuse the stupid [or rather - "unsophisticated"] HS audience.

"the song should stand on its" errrr - OWN?

  • ha very good thanks for the correction;) okies yeah thats pretty understandable, but it just seemed u could hear the tiredness in their voices, because of so much movement - i think their voices are decent for a highschool production - so yeah all im saying is it could be improved by less choreo so the song and the lyrics (which are very funny and engaging, even for a HS!) could stand out more! hmm anyways ciaociao

  • they look a little old for high school. Must be college.

  • From left to right...

    * Senior - Junior - Sophomore *

    Yup - all high school.

  • And.. the girls are:

    Junior - Senior - Sophomore, I think.

Well anyway.. They're all high school!

  • That was so cute! Nice job!

  • I really love the use of different spaces... it's almost like clips from different filmings were put on top and to the side of other scenes.

I wish our theatre had lights that good. Or sets. Or the stage.

    Geez, our stage sucks.

  • Haha, you don't look very stoned at the beginning of this. Did you have to cut out the pot scene?

  • Very, very little dialog was cut. The joint was eliminated, though. You cannot see it in the video, but the rear scenic piece is lit marijuana-green with a psychedelic pattern projected on it. Duh - the audience got it without "saying" it!

  • Actually -- after 'Drive a Person Crazy' a lot of dialogue was cut. Jenny talks about 'keeping up with the kids' -- David tells her to get food -- there's talk of rolling another joint -- and then David and Bobby have a bit of a conversation where David tells Bobby what a ding-dong Jenny is -- all cut.

  • You're right.. I'm wrong.. I'd forgotten that the director had a tough time with this scene's dialog: having it make sense AND be appropriate for a high school venue. But it's 1/5 of the show, so it couldn't be completely cut, nor would ya want to cut it.

Although I don't really understand why you found it necessary to reply with detailed script changes, I appreciate the comment [I guess].

  • Wow, that was REALLY good for a high school!

  • lmao brilliant!

  • Love this !! Amazing budding talents...totally 'pro' production values...
