What amazes me about the golden girls is that their chemistry is so beautiful and yet, neither one of them attended one another's funeral... So weird.
Well what happened was after the golden girls went off in 1992 NBC decided to keep the saturday night lineup with a spin off and this show only went 2 seasons but it was funny however it lost a little bit of the Dorothy touch and appeal it would have went longer had the ratings lasted but i liked it!

They Tried to make the show hip they werent up against 60 muinets now, It was the 90's the had to compeat with Home Improvement and Married with Children and strangley enough re reuns of the Brady Bunch (No Lie) Hence the Two Bardy Bunch Movies in the 90's
Blanche without her wild relationships is not very funny nor exciting, her adventurous love life was what made her character unique and appealing, she lost her charm in the spin off
I think they made a mistake by bringing her on the show at all, I loved Dorothy as well, but bringing her on the show just made people want the show back the way it was, they should have just left it alone.
"Her description fits half the women in Miami... and a quarter of the men." You know, this is what made Bea so wonderful. She had impeccable comedic timing! Just listening to the way she delivered that line makes me miss her.
I think Dorothy should have made more guest appearances in the show. I guess the producers tried to retool the show without Dorothy, but she was the key to holding the show together.
I liked Dorothy coming on the show. It had the same feeling like the Golden Girls, except with the different writing style. And I can't stand this new version of the theme song!! Ugh! The original was so much better! You can't beat originality.
this show actually did well in the ratings for CBS but at that time CBS went into another direction and cut several shows that summer..... so, it wasn't because Bea Arthur wasn't apart of it. It was because the president was fickle.
i will always love the golden girls and this episode where bea arthur is a guest star in the golden palace was the last episode together. i will miss bea arthur.
well dorothy hit rose on the head with a newspaper several times...but yea blanche saying she was gonna deck dorthy was way out of character for her... and i LOVE the Golden girls..i own every seas...but this show kinda sucked hence the not staying on long lol
It took a while to build up the collection. Most were purchased on Ebay or Amazon, but for a fairly decent price. I've seen a few seasons in Walmart and Future Shop, not sure which ones--sorry I can't be more helpful, but it took me a while to track all of them down. Hope this helps.

i wish they would release this to dvd for us. i love this show and it was a hit to me. shame i have to come to youtube to watch it. RELEASE THE TAPES!!! I want this for my collection.

no we don't get it in Canada which sucks cause a lot of my fav shows are on that network and they don't show GP on any other network.
