  • Awesome video! I have recently returned to thrift store shopping and am loving every minute of it. I have purchased a gorgeous 100% suede jacket w/embroidery for a mere $12. This is an item I am CERTAIN I would have payed up to $100 for--and it LOOKS like I did! I have found a terrific blazer, lovely skirts, tops, jackets, shorts, and even a vintage pendant for thrif-TASTIC prices. My wardrobe has never looked better and I am spending so little. I will never return to the mall stores again!

  • y r they so proud of it its like whatever,no big deal ,"wow theY shop ayt a thrift store"

  • Seriously, if they didn't call them thrift stores. People would be buying from them 24/7. I love to shop at thrift stores. My sister bought a brand new scooter for 10 bucks... You never know what your going to find!

  • For most people it is just a matter of getting money off daily necessities like food but what if you want a smart phone or television? Well you can get great discounts if you know what I know and show on my channel.

  • Goto the thrift stores people dont like corporate America make their products in a 3rd world country and then profit off of you. Protect your hard earned money

  • Can you adopt me as a member of your family, please? "Shopping is a hunting expedition." SO TRUE!

  • That's good shopping. I consider myself an expert at saving money, too bad the only thing I try to save money on is buying electronics, movies, comics, video games, but I am dam good. I shop at Amazon.com, ebay.com, pawn shops, and thrift stores as a result I probably have spent about 3'000 on what would probably be about 15'000 retail.

  • Walmart and plato's closet are more my style, the only place I won't compromise for clothes is shoes, I need to buy 70-100 skateboard shoes. With ebay and amazon.com thriftstores are kind of obsolete.

  • @brynn30 - You can wash any cloths you buy at a thrift store as soon as you walk in the door when you get home, and most consignment shops and thrift stores have rules that cloths have to be clean whenever consigners come in to bring their items. Also,as long as you wash your sheets and clean your house you probably won't have any trouble with bed bugs.I knew somebody one time that had bed bugs,& I helped this person get rid of them by vaccuuming the bed, washing the sheets,& cleaning their house.

  • I have shopped thrift stores for almost 20 years.. I have never had a bed bug problem.. Wash them as soon as you get home hot water too...

  • I've shopped thrift stores for the last 15 years. It started out as an economic measure but once I realized what great things I could find for little money, I was hooked! My whole professional wardrobe came from a hospital thrift store, GoodWill, Salvation Army and a couple of local ones. Fine wool blazers, pants and skirts, silk dresses with the original tags still on them, linen suits, and cashmere sweaters are all in my wardrobe, thanks to thrift stores.

  • @212Pinky Wash them right away—we've never had a problem.

  • I grew up buying my clothes new but other things I do not mind like books, furniture, movies, etc....an the clothes I do buy are like Old navy haha Brand Names are overrated

  • in Canada, the clothes are categorized by colour. and thrift shopping is so fun! nobody will have the same thing as you, and if your creative, they look fantastic! :P lets start a thrift revolution!!!!

  • @tealrabbit53 We agree—we so need a revolution, the debt and bail out just isn't cutting it. Maybe living below our means will finally start making sense to more people.

  • The Salvation Army in Memphis TN has 50% off clothing days. The MIFA store also has deep discuont days. Since Memphis is a distribution area there are companies giving new items to the thrifts. I think thrifts are great financially and for the environment. Great job raising your kids like this and helping other Americans to get over their financial issues.

  • i think it's funny how they have "econom" in their last name. you know, like "economy" haha (:

  • I remember being little and having to settle for thrift store toys and clothing! Even though I hated it, those were the days.

  • @visionimagify It's amazing how things change as we get older. But truly, what do we really need to be happy. Just look at kids . . . they're fine with anything as long as they know they are loved.

  • They won`t have to be stingy with their money now because they`lle be making money with the people who buy their book.

  • THIS PLACE LOOKS AMAZING :( i want to go so bad,

  • this is smart! i'm gonna start doing this!

  • @ronlutes When we buy things from thrift stores, anything that can be washed in a washing machine, is washed with hot water and soap and all else is sprayed and wiped with disinfectant. We have never had a problem with bed bugs. We hope you will reconsider your position. So sorry you had a bad experience.

  • 99 cent day omg! D: damit y can i live around there.

  • They forgot to mention that buying used/2nd hand goods is also more ecological as it's already there and won't be dumped.

  • I did live in Kansas and the Goodwill's there had $1.10 clothes days every month or so... But, my husband is in the Army so we had to move to New York and there are no Goodwill's here... but luckily I had bought my kids a size bigger last time I bought them a lot of clothes so we're good for at least another year. I will be visiting KS next summer so I will be stocking up on Goodwill goodies :)

  • It makes me mad when people think it's embarrassing to shop in thrift stores and it prevents other people from shopping there too! Personally, I love thrift stores. Regular stores make me so bored. But you can always find awesome stuff in a thrift store! YAY!

  • @Irochka2525 more items for us thrifties then!!!

  • i am pretty cheap too, i always go to second-hand clothing stores like goodwill and never those stores such as louisvuitton,A&F and hollister. here are some really good deal i got at goodwill: hot topic hoodie ORIGINALLY 44 bucks but i got it for 13.99.

Hurley hoodie for 7.49 but since it had an orange tag , orange taggers are 50% off for the week i bought it, so it is like 3.25

i got a real prada for 10.49 , my friends are expertsat telling fake from real and i got a real one.

  • haha there last name is economides :D

    economy. money. cheap. :D

  • My daughter loves thrift stores. She is great a re-designing clothes.

  • I've work at a thrift and I didnt even shop at it. Sorry I would go hit the department stores instead. plus I want new trends not ones that are 10 years ago

  • @c1ack The thrift stores I go to have current clothes, as in LAST seasons! I dress fairly classically anyway so those things never go out of style. If you go to the thrifts bordering the suburbs where the wealthier people live, you'll have clothes worn very little, last seasons, and some with tags on them. Sorry the thrift you work at puts out "old" clothes. The "old" clothes at the ones I go to are on a "vintage" rack, for people who like to dress in vintage clothes and for costuming.

  • @c1ack Well, not everyone will be into buying thrift store clothes but it is something special for me, since I love everything vintage. My style is vintage/bohemian and I've loved being able to find retro & vintage pieces there for a song!

  • i normally don't pay more than 1.50 for anything. I shop at Goodwill-Tues is 1.49 day. I once bought a 150.00 dress, still with the tags on it for 1.49!

Every once in a while I pay "full" price-5.99! but that's not the norm. Everything is name brand! I LOVE 2nd hand shops. Nothing wrong with 2nd hand shopping...although it becomes somewhat addictive-plus I wear a 18 tall and that is harder to find.

  • @jenniferrut You are awesome! Those are great deals. You're right, it is addictive — great deals are always addictive! S&A

  • @jenniferrut - I love going to Goodwill stores. There aren't any in the town where I live, but there are some in some of the bigger towns and I try to visit the Goodwill's whenever I am in the bigger towns.

  • i love vintage shopping :D

  • I am a thrift store junkie! You'd be surprised at how many brand name clothes are in the thrift stores. I found an Ann Taylor Loft blazer with the tags still attached. The original price was$139.00, and I paid $15.00.

  • I lovwe shopping in thift stores!

  • i only shop at shrift stores!! but were soo cheap we only go on half off days,i get an abercrombie or any other brand for some times 25 CENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You guys are awesome!

  • which one is the closes to pasadena ca.?.....

  • I wonder if their last name is a coincidence? haha ;). I'm beginning to love the thrift store. Its totally different every time, and I don't see the point of spending $20 on a single shirt at the mall anymore :).

  • Wow!! that family is great!! found an article today on the same sort of topics, its on the CashDoctors website (google it) click on resources then articles and start reading!! helped me out a bunch!!

  • Savers is my favorite thriftstore. I recently bought a Versace dress with the tags still on it for 39.99 and a genuine Coach purse for .99 cents because it had a green tag. All green tags were 99 cents that day. I also bought a Philip Lim 3.1 dress for 4.99! It retails for 350 dollars.

  • Savers Rocks!!!!

  • Savers is getting expensive now a days. I still love it though. When I go thier I buy cool things that I can mold into a custom fit wardrobe.

  • You Jerk. Smart Shopers are thrift shoppers.

  • i don't shop thrift store but i do find great deals. i never buy any clothes full price. i'm a regular at target and if i find something i like i wait for it to go down to 75% off then purchase it.

  • you can also go in to the mall and buy the things that are on sale. Keep your eye open for the sales and write down the date. After one year you will know how to get 50% off of really nice clothes depending what month or season it is. (this way you dont have to shop second hand if you dont want to, just remember it is going to be a little more expencive)
